So, the John storyline continues, and honestly, it should. Rushing it would ruin it and John, and Drake deserve a lot better than that. I’m not really sure about the Citizen Kane reference though but I’m interested where everybody goes from here, especially Steve and Marlena.

I didn’t dislike the Orpheus/Andrew scenes but at the same time, it was all a little clunky. It made Andrew look weak. And like such a lousy agent too. He should’ve laid Orpheus out with like one punch or something. But I’m glad that Paul saved him. Too bad neither of them  could bring themselves to kill Orpheus.

I was actually surprised that Jada confessed everything to Rafe so quickly, but I guess I understand it based on the spoilers and from a storyline perspective. The set up was good, both in their scenes and in the EJ/Belle scenes as well.

The acting in the Rafe/Jada scenes was a little… mehhh though. Those scenes, once again, showed us what dicks Rafe and Jada are lol which again tells me what a waste of time it was to bring Fake Rafe back to cause conflict for the two of them because the conflict could’ve easily come from the two of them themselves. Rafe suing the city for wrongful termination would’ve been a lot better than Fake Rafe.

And yeah, Brady’s still a little bitch. Like, why is he being so nice to Kristen? He should be ripping her shreds every time he sees her. Again, how is this pathetic excuse for a man supposed to carry on John’s legacy? Too bad we can’t get Christopher Sean full time. Paul is the perfect one to carry on John’s legacy. It would probably also mean that we would get Colton Little full time too. And I would much rather see Paul and Andrew

Poor Andrew is a bafoon as an agent. Marlena was able to outsmart Orpheus, but he could not. I did enjoy him being rescued by Paul.

Andrew's pecs were perky again today.

Some of the dialogue they give Kristen is so odd like when she was talking about all the stories she heard about John and how invincible he is/was.  As if we are supposed to forget she was with John for years and lived through half of his most epic heroism.  She acts like she hardly knows John.

Christopher Sean and Paul are the best.  The show should do anything to keep him long term.  Andrew did look a little silly today, but whatever.  He didn't check the 75-year-old women's zip tie handcuffs lol?

Jada/Rafe's fight was kind of strange.  Rafe's reaction seemed way out of proportion for the situation.

Brady is a wimp but he called Marlena "mom" today.

I am sure it's just EM forgetting who Brady's related to like usual, but I'll take it.

Everyone was lit so blue today.  It was distracting.

I always felt that Brady *should* call Marlena "mom".  She raised him (ignoring the missing SORAS years which don't count for any soap kid). He has called her mom on occasional poignant moments through the years.  I think it should be always, but I am grateful when it does happen.

I actually love the way Brady referred to Mom and Dad here,  as he should

Am I recalling incorrectly, that was part of the maturation of Brady as played by Kyle Lowder?  He was bratty to Marlena, and then there was a thing with Belle and the train tracks.  But, eventually, there was a rapprochement and Brady called Marlena "Mom" for the first time after they talked about his childhood memories.

Are any of John's enemies still alive—either in canon or real life?

It would be a remarkable and heroic journey for John to eliminate all of his enemies before his time comes.

DAYS really missed the mark on how people talk after being shot. Both Orpheus and not-John showed no signs of shock—they were cracking jokes and speaking in riddles. It would have been far more effective if they were being interrogated. There was no logical reason for either of them to respond like that instead of focusing on the pain of their wounds.

Andrew being a himbo is absolutely in character. Shane was suave and debonair, but his twin, Drew, was more of a himbo—so it tracks.

EJ’s clapback at Belle was really well-written. I’m not sure the character would normally be that insightful, but the point he made—that Belle is seeking absolution, and he refuses to give her the satisfaction—was excellent. That’s some unique, creative, and thoughtful writing, and credit should be given where it’s due.

I'd prefer that John go out sacrificing himself heroically to save someone by an act of kindness and love.  Something transforming him above the old spy persona he began with. Just my preference.

In my way of looking at life, a hero doesn't just fight bad guys. Instead, a hero's emphasis should be on uplifting the good.

I wish.

Is his Netflix show still on?

I'd prefer that too. Or at least have John sacrifice his own life in order to kill Orpheus for good.

It wouldn't feel right if John dies with Orpheus still alive and living another day to cause trouble. It would almost feel like he beat John and finally got his revenge.

I agree with all of you that it's so good to see Paul and Andrew, and I would love both of them to stay.

But Andrew getting played like that by Orpheus? Just no. That did not work. They could have written that scene in a number of other ways that wouldn't have made Andrew out to be a godawful agent.

Point taken about a preference for an act of kindness, (or some random death out of nowhere), over his spy persona.  However, I would argue that John’s journey must be heroic—on a grand scale—for at least two reasons.

First, unlike real people, most of John's enemies haven’t simply held grudges or sought petty revenge; they’ve attempted world domination or, at the very least, threatened the lives of those he loves. His battles are less about settling old scores and more akin to tilting at windmills—fighting against overwhelming forces to ensure the world remains a safer place for the next generation of his family - we can discuss if Rachel is worth it another time.

Second, the stakes must be heroic because nothing less would pull him from Doc’s side. As Orpheus so aptly reminded us, they are the most important thing in the world to each other (which also explains the pathology of their children, but that’s also a discussion for another time). In that context, I’d argue that John’s death is the ultimate act of selflessness—on the show, of course. Let’s not get carried away.

Third, there's been so much death on Days in the past few years that we've seen a peaceful death, and a man killed by his enemy.  So, they have to keep it fresh - so to speak.

    • I don't remember that scene! OMG, that is TOO funny!  There were three unseen Reardon siblings at this point. I suppose they wanted this one to be of an age to belong to the current young adult crowd, so that's why they retconned their birth order, but hell, at least bring in someone interesting. Maureen was already the goody-goody, they didn't need another one.
    • According to Errol, she wrote for Ambitions and has already joined the writing team of BTG.
    • Blake was a character that was introd right before or during the strike. When Long came back she asked who Blake was talking to on the phone and the producers were like "We don't know!" It was Curlee who pushed to make that character Chrissy...when they were in talks with Zaz to replace Pilon as Alan, (dummies) . I like the idea of another Reardon but yea, Chelsea? I grew to like her but she just seemed to be a kid that Bea fostered instead of a Reardon. Remember when they had a big scene of the Ed and Maureen talking about the "wildest" Reardon coming home, and Rick says, "Nola's coming back" and Maureen says, "Oh no, Chelsea's MUCH wilder then even Nola!" Okay..riiggghhht. I know they mentioned her "jumping in a fountain in Rome," and since they also had boring Tangie do that, this was apparently the wildest thing the writers could dream up (or they watched the "the Birds" too many times.)
    • Skyy Sandifer was listed as today's scriptwriter for Days.
    • Someone mentioned a while back that Katelyn MacMullen should be chosen as a recast for Ashley and I think that's a great idea. I'm still hoping that BTG poaches her from General Hospital and have her play Ashley. Also the writing for Ashley could use some improvement because right now Ashley is coming across as extremely emotionally unstable and neurotic. I can't help but wonder if that's supposed to be intentional.
    • Derek is a firefighter, yet we haven't met any of his co-workers or friends, and there is no set location for his job. Derek is so isolated from everyone else. @NothinButAttitude I wonder the same thing about the crooked cop story. Where did it go?

    • Yes.  Are any of them famous?  I suppose Drew and Laura would warrant an interview because they are politicians but he's hosting.  Lucy and some of the acts also make sense to interview, but it's not like a world-famous supermodel is there.  She wasn't invited lol.  Why would anyone care about Cody and Molly?  I also wonder where this airs.  Years ago, when Britt and Liesel? Brad? were watching it on tv it looked like a Public Access channel like those local stations everyone gets. Going back to the MS Nina days she has hosted on and off.  I don't get it, but it's always been a thing.  Drew hosting perplexes me.  I think it loosely has something to do with Aurora, but he's not involved in that anymore, right? I think the whole red carpet stuff looks cheap and ugly.  I liked when they just showed a montage of the couples and people arriving during the first scenes of the Nurse's Ball. Something like this:

I apologize for the absolutely awful quality, but Alan singing and people coming in looks much better.
