Good episode today

Vanessa and Joey interacting was a nice surprise, there is definitely chemistry there and much more interesting than her scenes with Doug and Diego.

I guess Randy made sure Doug got some winnings at the casino but clearly Joey is about to put a stop to that, what a predator.

Jacob didn’t waste anytime snitching on his partner lol, at least we know he’s right. They’ve done a good job setting him up as a high moral character who will likely end up having a identity crisis when he realizes how much corruption is around him.

Elon is a strong male addition to the show that was needed IMO. I liked the way he checked the now confirmed crooked cop Marcel for how he was treating Jacob. I feel like we saw a different side to Anita in their scenes together as well (slightly manipulative and flirty outside of Vernon).

Naomi and Anita talking about the case against Bill’s law firm then trying to come up with a rap made for good family scenes

I loved everything with Chelsea today as well. The social media stuff still surprisingly works and I loved her scenes with Kat and Jacob trying to figure out how to deal with Dani. Chelsea and Jacob might have more chemistry than he does with Naomi btw

The actor playing Tomas is still weak but he does have decent chemistry with both Kat and Eva so far. I laughed at Eva doing the bend and snap to get his attention and he was good with Kat when her nervousness about being a virgin came up again and she asked for more physical intimacy. This Eva vs Kat feud is like a ticking time bomb and I think I enjoy it the most of the show

I loved the scenes between these two and completely got a kick out Anita saying, "Living in the past is for old farts who have nothing better to do im their present day life".

Real talk.

And that little rap ditty was everything. Go Anita.

I'm probably getting a little bit ahead of myself but which couple do you think is going to have a baby first - Naomi and Jacob or Bill and Hayley? For some reason I feel like it's Bill and Hayley but I'd like to see Naomi give birth to another Dupree grandchild eventually.

Anita's group is probably going to perform at this police fundraiser. At least that is how it seems it's being set up.

Eva faking a knee injury was so over the top but it fits with the scheming.

The black spray on Detective Malone's head was very much noticeable. Can't blame hair and makeup for that though because the actor very likely did that himself.

    • Forbes also likely got the primetime career Zimmer wanted - never a huge star, admittedly, but a stalwart, able to dip in and out when she saw fit and generally not paying an industry price. Zimmer felt extremely hurt by her lack of success after leaving GL and even more hurt when JFP made it clear GL had moved on from Reva. (JFP, self-sabotaging as ever, soon made it clear that was not actually the case, but with a stronger producer, GL could have genuinely moved on from Reva)
    • Oh wow - I must see this promo!  Anyone have a copy/link to it? I can't believe they 'accidentally' did that, and if so, I wonder if someone got in trouble haha. Kim did mention in Chapter 1 that the 'suits' dangled some hopeful carrots for a long time, saying they would pitch the show and try and get it on another network or online somehow where it would be cheaper. They even heard rumors that Lifetime would pick it up, so it gave some folks hope for a little while, but sadly nothing came of it. Kim said she was already resolved that it would never go anywhere and she had peace of mind about that shortly after the announcement.
    • Same. I absolutely agree. It's a real shame, too. I had a lot of hope for the Character.
    • He's been written that way for about twenty years, so I suppose it is fitting. They should have done repair work, but I still think this return was pushed on Frank by ABC and he sandbagged the whole thing. If so, I guess he got what he wanted. I mostly feel bad for Becky Herbst. I've never loved Liz, but she should be given more respect than she is by TPTB, rather than always being a step away from losing her job.
    • Wow. This show is ridiculous.
    • There's a 1997 promo somewhere of Annie vs. Reva which ends with Reva throwing her purse across the room. IIRC, from what soap magazines at the time said, that was not an actual scene but was (allegedly) a real confrontation which somehow got into a promo.  I do wish Wheeler had moved faster - maybe that was as fast as she could go, or maybe she took for granted that they would stay on. I know the show probably couldn't have improved drastically, but I do wish they'd had one year, and Irna's babies could have ended at the same time.  I have already spent enough years comparing the GL and ATWT finales, but I agree. As someone who quit watching GL in disgust around the early/mid '00s the show did remind of its old self at the end. ATWT's ending was an extended Goutman ego trip. One show had a poignant death of a character whose passing was long overdue...one slaughtered a vibrant young man so we could get James Rehborn (wonderful as he was) playing chess for homophobes.  The Grant Aleksander interview I posted a few weeks ago had him talking about learning GL was canceled because Ron Raines called him at Home Depot. He said they knew it was probably going to happen, but that believing something will happen and it actually happening are very different.
    • Thanks. I just hope this choice isn't why Billy is leaving, as they should have done all they could story-wise to make him want to stay.  Maybe he had already told them he was going. I hope so.
    • This is amazing. They didn’t even make it 6 months into Trump‘s term

    • This is where the timeline gets a little muddy. The Bo who was in Heaven, in Beyond Salem 2 knows that Caroline died. But in this alternate timeline, where Bo never actually died and was held in cryogenics by Megan, shouldn’t know about Caroline.  It does seem like the new writers don’t have much interest in her, or in the possible pairing with Chad.
    • Leslie's campiness has become irritating to me, not mesmerizing anymore.  It's getting repetitive, constantly plotting and flirting.  She's become a cartoon, sadly, and the actress is worth more than that. I want to fastforward through her, but now I watch to see her scene partners react.
