Well, she's a very giving actress & she comes from a tradition where the majority of players were that, giving, so naturally it is her first thought or intention to be complementary to her scene partner & since y'all have a preference for more natural acting over stylized, or even mannered acting, then, of course, you see her as "better" when she's toning it down with people who are more or less letting it all hang, natural style or playing realism. It's not per se better but it is a different rung on the acting ladder.

I like her no matter which or what but my personal preference is different. It's fireworks & "swinging for the fences" to use Drake's & Brandi Carlyle's phrase.

I watched the episode since Kate was in it and everyone had such positive comments on the scenes and I concur. They were great. The music cue, on the other hand, was the strangest choice for it and the volume of it was way too loud.

I really liked the scene with Rafe and Johnny as well. You make a great observation about Galen Gering working well with the younger actors on the show. His 'kind dad' vibe kicks in.

The EJ/Kate scenes were electric. So good to see Lauren Koslow with Kate having her strength and fire back.

I think it goes: Lucas, Austin, Billie, Phillip, Rex, and Cassie. Lucas only gets first place because Kate raised him his whole life and covered up a murder for him, I think Kate *loves* Lucas the most.

However, I think she *likes* Austin the most. He has basically never disappointed her and always done the right thing by her, and generally.

Rafe is probably one of the few characters that should have had a child years ago or had a long lost child show up.  Rafe has been on a loop of failed love interests and cop/adventure stories and he's far too old for that now.   Since the show seems to have no plans to write Rafe off, I would at least use Rafe in a capacity that works for him.

That's a pretty spot on assessment that I would agree with, so Lucas is #1 on my list now.

I still think the show missed the mark by not making Lucas a main player in this story.  It really has nothing to do with Phillip in the end.

I could see that working. There are certain things GG does well (sarcastic/snarky and Dad-Mode), and they don't use them nearly enough. I actually loved the scenes with him and Johnny, which surprised me.

I always liked the Rafe/Johnny relationship and I’m glad Days remembered it.

It also could be pretty interesting if, as a way of distancing himself from EJ and the Dimeras, Johnny joins the police force or even the ISA.

That's actually a really good idea.  I don't know if that would 'age' Rafe too much, but there could have been an interesting dynamic finding out he has a grown son that is gay and now thinks he's in love with Leo.  Javi could be resentful Rafe was never in his life and some of his selfishness and obnoxious with Leo could be because he's trying to test or annoy Rafe.

I always enjoyed Rafe with Allie as well.

Galen is 54 years old, lol. Rafe probably should've had a kid by now considering how long he's been on the show, but I suspect the fact that he never seems to really spark in any romantic pairing has kept that from happening. So maybe a secret child is the way to go with him.

It would be a lot better than Javi just being a Leo prop.

The obsession with him messed up another storyline that could’ve been really good

    • Today May 11, 2025, Pope Leo briefly addressed the crowd in the square.  He sang the prayer to Mary and then said:   Dear brothers and sisters, The immense tragedy of the Second World War ended eighty years ago, on 8 May, after having claimed sixty million victims. In today’s dramatic scenario of a piecemeal third world war, as Pope Francis stated many times, I too address the world’s leaders, repeating the ever-timely appeal: “Never again war!”. I carry in my heart the sufferings of the beloved Ukrainian people. May everything possible be done to reach an authentic, just and lasting peace, as soon as possible. Let all the prisoners be freed and the children return to their own families. I am deeply saddened by what is happening in the Gaza Strip: may there be an immediate ceasefire! Let humanitarian aid be provided to the stricken civil population, and let all the hostages be freed. On the other hand, I have welcomed with satisfaction the announcement of the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, and I hope that through the upcoming negotiations, a lasting accord may be reached soon. https://www.vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/en/angelus/2025/documents/20250511-regina-caeli.html
    • Lol! I'm quite sure it would.
    • But that is pretty much situation normal for all soaps. They do not tend to continue to show things like surgical scars. They also play fast & loose with hospital procedures.
    • re: prior two posts about Trump's new opulent plane contrasted with utter starvation in Gaza... Trump and Netanyahu are giving "Let them eat cake".  And it's horrific. In 2013, Pope Francis removed a bishop from running the Limburg Germany diocese because he was constructing an opulent 31-million-euro building. This is from Reuters obit of Francis: https://www.reuters.com/world/obituary-pope-francis-shook-up-church-with-simplicity-raising-conservative-ire-2025-04-21/ From the start, Francis sent clear signals to priests and bishops about the type of Church he wanted. He said there was no room for "careerists or social climbers" among the clergy, told cardinals they should not live "like princes," and said the Church should not "dissect theology" in lush salons while there were poor people around the corner. "If investments in banks fall, it is a tragedy and people say 'what are we going to do?' but if people die of hunger, have nothing to eat or suffer from poor health, that's nothing. This is our crisis today. A Church that is poor and for the poor has to fight this mentality," he said early in his papacy. -- Pope Francis stood up for the poor, the unhoused, the migrants of all faiths.  He lived simply and ordered that when he died, that he wished to be interred in a simple wooden coffin. I sincerely hope that the new pope Leo will follow Francis' example.
    • Co Sign!!!!   I have been watching the show regularly over the last few weeks and am pleasantly surprised by how much easier it is to watch each day. This definitely is confirmation for me that Paula and Jeanne wrote the stroke episodes, cause I felt the same way watching those. Could be more exciting for sure, but interactions now make more sense and everything seems to be a bit more character driven which is great. I will add though, there are still about 10 or so characters i'd love to see gone, and hope a few will exit in the future! Otherwise, happy with the changes so far.

    • There is suffering everywhere you look, says mother of emaciated baby girl trapped in Gaza https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/czrv5rl73zdo Quoting excerpts from BBC article: The baby's mother Najwa, 23, is changing Siwar's nappy. She weighs just over 2kg (4lb 6oz). A baby girl of five months should be around or over 6kg. "There was no food when I gave birth to her," says Najwa. "If I wanted to feed myself so I could breastfeed her, I had no nutrients to make my health better... She now only drinks formula milk, and we don't know how we'll be able to provide it for her." Israel has banned international journalists from entering Gaza to report independently. According to Siwar's doctor, Ziad al-Majaida, "Nothing enters through the borders, no milk, food or anything. This leads to big problems here for the kids. This baby needs a specific type of milk. It was available before, but because of the border closure, the stocks have run out for a while now." Since the beginning of the year, according to the UN, about 10,000 cases of acute malnutrition among children have been identified. Food prices have rocketed by as much as 1,400%. Charity kitchens, which have helped hundreds of thousands of Gazans, are shutting as food supplies run out. Twenty-five bakeries supported by the World Food Programme have been forced to close. Israel cut off all humanitarian aid and other supplies from entering Gaza on 2 March, and resumed its military offensive two weeks later The United Nations has said the Israeli blockade constitutes "a cruel collective punishment" on civilians. The UN's humanitarian director, former British diplomat Tom Fletcher, said that international law was unequivocal. "As the occupying power, Israel must allow humanitarian support in... Aid, and the civilian lives it saves, should never be a bargaining chip," he warned. From the BBC reporter: I put this point to Boaz Bismuth, a leading member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party. He (Bismuth) denies there is an aid crisis caused by the blockade. "There is food in Gaza... Israel wouldn't do such a restriction if the population didn't have food. I mean, I know my country perfectly well," he (Bismuth) said. BBC reporter: I put it to Bismuth that he was denying the evidence of people's eyes, that children were starving. "There are not starving children. I repeat again." He (Bismuth) said that there had been allegations months ago of famine, ethnic cleansing and genocide in Gaza "which was crap". ----  ----  ---- A UK-based advocacy group for Israel has the nerve to claim war may reduce obesity in Gaza https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/may/10/uk-lawyers-for-israel-condemned-over-claim-war-may-reduce-obesity-in-gaza
    • Joel Crothers would have been perfect as Owen (maybe because Margo wasn't too far off Denise). A shame he couldn't have played a dual role. Eliot did have more room to grow. I wonder if whatever allegedly happened with Denny Albee played a part in both their exits.
