Tamara adds a ton of subtext in her scenes in just the very first episode. Wait until y’all see her scenes with her daughters, particularly Dani. She’s a true figurehead on this show and they’re luck to have her.

I'm all about Nicole over Dani. Obviously Anita. Dani's ex-husband intrigues me and has a good presence in the promos, especially that line about "you didn't make me, and your father didn't make me" (and yet, he still cares enough to want to bring his bride into their gated community and get married in the country club their grandfather founded, so there's just a lot there!).

I'm very intrigued by Kat and Naomi tbh. And Vanessa the realtor. I also am presold for Bill/Timon Durrett from Queen Sugar, lol. He's amazingly fine. Anita goes without saying.

I may be watching live tomorrow before the gym if the Paramount live feed cooperates.

It's going to feel strange that after waiting for what feels like forever the episodes are going to start dropping day by day.

As for favorite characters, my favorite of the core four might be Nicole. I think I will also like Anita, Ted, Vanessa, and Eva because the actress is from my alma mater.

"Leslie" and Eva.

SOOOOOO excited!

I really hope the show does well - live views + streaming.

If it does, it may get the other shows to up their game which they DESPERATELY need.

Anita & Dani, both.

Anita is a (very) close second for me. I love me sum Tamara Tunie.

And subtext is the sign of some of the best actors. And I love her for it. Even in the promo/previews I see so much of that on display. I cannot wait for more.

I will post more tomorrow when the embargo lifts, but Dani, I think, will be a very divisive character.

In some ways, she’s her own worst enemy. Anita and Nicole are real with her about this in the first episode. You get a lot out of the scenes when it’s just the 3 core women.

I am looking forward to your tea and given what I just said about subtext and all 3 actresses can play that. I feel like their scenes are going to be some of the most layered. And that is going to be delicious.

She actually thanked us in the audience at the Paley Center for understanding her subtext, lol. It was like watching a movie and she could see how we were reacting to her choices.
