This Sasha & Jason story is such a bad retread and gross considering her age and involvement with Michael. They never should have had her so adamant about not wanting the child in the middle of Quatermaine drama and Sonny’s mob violence if this is where they were headed, it makes Sasha look like an idiot.

The age gap bothers me especially after they flashed back to Jason holding Michael as a baby.

I actually love the use of simple misunderstanding for a plot jump start with the right characters. Cody unfortunately already wasn’t working for me when they were using Tracy, James, Sasha and the rest of the Scorpio/Jones clan to prop him up as a hero, this hard turn toward being sanctimonious and self destructive is even worse. I really hope Josh Kelly’s contract is up soon and they ship the character off tbh.

Exactly. That's what makes the age gap weird.  Physically SM and SBu don't look that odd together, it's the history that makes it strange.  Honestly, the whole story is strange including everyone just taking Cody's word for it and basically the town just demanding Sasha tell them her private business.  I don't understand why anyone cares that much about who Sasha's baby daddy is.

Yup.  It's the only outcome to this story that makes sense.  Otherwise, what's the point of Jason pretending to be her baby daddy?

The last thing this show needed was another damn baby.

Because, Port Charles is stuck in the 1930s.  (Now I know how LOVE OF LIFE fans felt when Jean Holloway was HW).

2-11

Not Danny confronting Cyrus in front of a third of the town!!! But...in character. I even thought the actor did a decent job. It felt like he was given notes and tried to get his emotions across and yet be restrained about it.

Meanwhile, look at them changing it up on Gio's wardrobe. I felt like he's been in that hoodie for a good minute. Hello, buttoned-down shirt.

You can add me to the group who like Emma/Gio/Trina/Kai as a little group.

Le sigh. As much as I want Jason to be doing SOMETHING, this babydaddy story ain't it for me. I know the drama of it has been laid out on this thread, but I don't see the stakes to it outside of Michael coming back. Without him there, it's just a lead balloon. Drama for drama sake because the writers can't figure out what to do with the group of characters. That said...something could be said for how crazy Cody is coming across to Jason. Not so much Drew.

SHUT UP, KRISTINA.

Pretty meh outside of the coda at the end.

Hahaha. Great minds. Cuz without Michael around...what is the point? The stakes?

Very.

    • Tate seems to love throwing punches now

I enjoyed his scenes with Johnny. Both of their perspectives make perfect sense to me and are completely relatable. There’s no right or wrong person in this situation and I like that. LH  does pretty well when Tate is angry too, but I also liked the way that he comforted Johnny in the end. Days is finally remembering that they’re cousins. And, Johnny looked hot in the beginning   Btw, Johnny going to work for Xander? That could be interesting. And, also can cause some more animosity between him and EJ.  And again, Marlena/Belle were great. Scenes like theirs really seem to be commonplace under Paula/Jeanne and I couldn’t be happier that they are. It’s helps us get a much better understanding of these characters and why they do the things that they do and feel the way that they feel. Marlena supporting Belle was a bit of surprise, considering her insane reaction when she walked in on EJ and Belle, but I also feel that it’s totally in character for her, both as a psychiatrist and as Belle’s mother.  As for Sophia and Amy… I miss the first Sophia lol but I can’t help but think that Amy suddenly being so nice is foreshadowing of something. Either that, or Paula/Jeanne aren’t biased against her
    • @alwaysAMC Great mini-review as always.  That Gilly story is...certainly one I could not forget... I imagine a number of viewers were shocked with the temporary recast. It was revealed in the soap magazines, as was the news about Frank Beaty's breakdown, I think. I think Wolf had some statements or an interview at the time but very little. I wish someone could interview him. He did a good job under extremely tough circumstances.  For some reason I have a vague memory of him in the Marian getup but that's probably not right.  I'm glad you have appreciated the material with Susan after a shaky start. I always enjoyed her, and she was the only love interest I liked Nick with.

When Doug died on May 1st, 1989, it was a huge loss to the show, the other actors & also to the fans.

    • Jonathan Kellerman is definitely the most EON/Slesar-like writer in the business right now.  Unfortunately, he's almost 80 years old.  Interestingly, he has a son (Jesse Kellerman) who's about 45, who's been studying under him.  I believe what makes the Kellermans such effective mystery & crime writers is their background in psychology.
    • I never understood the point of Marchetti. Summer left the show for a job there in Italy. OK. When she returned they had Jack buy the company. Why couldn't Summer have returned and simply stated it was not a good fit, she missed her home , family/friends etc It was absurd that this internationally successful fashion empire could just be bought by a US cosmetics firm at the drop of a hat. What was the point when they never did anything with it at all? Summer simply could have gone to work at Jabot. And wasn't there some nonsense about an offshhoot called Marchetti Home? Was Phyllis attached to that at some point? This show...

    • Haven't seen today's ep yet but so will be interested to see the clothes. So far I think they have been very character specific (even if I don't like some of them eg Kat's cutsie style) Anita is very showy/glittery, Nicole classic elegance, Dani sexy/bold colors etc. Unlike Y&R which seems much more generic. Also BTG pays attention to the men's wardrobe and has developed a style for the boyz-which is harder to do with male fashion. The absence of any of Derek/Ashley at any of these big events again demonstrates how they are in a different universe to the rest of the show. Not that a nurse and a fireman would be there but still they seem destined at this point to stay in their own lane and have little interaction with the core of the show.
