The thing with the Quartermaines and Michael was a little more nuanced when it was happening. The Q’s were shady AF, especially Edward, Ned, and to an extent, AJ.

Edward had just let Laura be put in jail to protect Justus, Ned lied to cover up for AJ instead of him taking responsibility for Jason’s accident, and Monica was soon to be in an affair where Dorman was murdered and she was a credible suspect, and near the time Michael was born Alan was addicted to pills.

The Q family was not adjusting to Jason’s new persona. He even told them all he sees in their eyes is the pain at him not being Jason Q, he needed to get away from them and they were stifling. Jason Morgan had legit reasons to want to be away from them.

To stick it to Tony, Carly said the baby was Jason’s. And both of them felt the Q’s would take Michael away from Carly if they knew the truth (and they would have). And Carly was doing crazy stuff that would have gotten Michael taken away. And Jason was in too deep because he loved Michael as his own son.

I am not saying that Sonny isn’t dangerous and that they didn’t choose a worse path-they did. Even Guza had Jason and Carly coming to that realization when Michael went to jail and was raped. But the Q’s were not as cuddly as they became as strictly comedy relief in the 00’s, and the writing for Carly, Jason, and Sonny was better before 2000.

As it stands today, I am happy to see the show circle back to this with Jason now having had a lifetime of experience with the mob and violence getting to Michael.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say that Tracy has been annoying in these last two episodes.  What legal right does she (the kids' great-great-aunt), or Monica (the kids' great-grandmother), have to keep them away from their mother?  Willow hasn't done anything illegal or is a danger to her kids.  Willow should just call tell the cops that her children are being kidnapped....wouldn't she technically be right?

We do know the details.  Diane filed for an emergency custody order to take the children away from Willow on Michael's behalf.  She showed up with the PCPD (Chase) so it was legal.  Martin told Willow to do the same thing before Diane did, but Willow went to the hospital instead to see Michael and Diane got temp. custody in the meantime for Michael.

I don't think you're wrong, but Tracy isn't doing anything different than what the "good" characters on the show tend like Sonny or Carly tend to do, she is just not as focused on reminding us of what a good person she is. I'm not entirely sure I believe she is just acting out of what Monica wants rather than getting to stick the boot in on people she finds to be odious...luckily, Jane is able to thread the needle. I imagine Willow will get the kids back soon enough anyway.

Probably the most interesting part of the story is seeing Carly face the consequences of her actions, losing both her son and her grandchildren, even if it's not the same for me as Laura Wright wasn't playing Carly for most of those key storylines.

On paper, I agree with you. Onscreen I don't think it entirely worked because I think even then the contempt Guza had for the family was undermining them as threats or dark figures. But that first six months or so of the story did work, mostly. It all started to decline for me once the focus shifted to Jason/Robin and Carly marrying AJ to try to keep custody, and so on.

I don't think Trina being there is going to make a difference about what happens with Gio. Like most of the younger characters on the show he's mostly vapid beyond physical appeal. I doubt Emma's going to be a big shift. The show just has a very lackluster younger group compared to how hard a lot of the older cast work. It's not entirely the fault of the younger cast, but not something which seems likely to change anytime soon.

I don't necessarily think Tracy truly does have any control.  I do assume the main point of Diane's argument was to not uproot the children from the home they know when Willow has no stable home and was with her boyfriend when Michael was injured.   The understanding was the children were to stay at the Quartermaines.

From the way it's playing out to me if Carly really pushed to get the children she probably could go to court and get them.  Sonny/Carly could also go to court to fight Willow having medical proxy.  All of this would take time.

Since Michael is the one who technically has custody all everyone is doing is arguing over the kids without any legal right.   Everyone will just have to sort it out in court.   No one else except incapacitated Michael can just take the kids.

And I...?  Really don't care who can take the kids legally, so long as they take them, and they take them far, far away.

(ICYMI: I really don't like children, and I like child actors even less, lol).

I actually don't think the younger cast is lackluster. There's talent there. I think they're just poorly used. Tabyana is talented and currently being given nothing now that they don't have to answer to the Sprina fanbase. Giovanni Mazza is cute and fun despite weak scripts, has an impressive body but stays inexplicably dressed at all times, and has little to do while being set up for a needless storyline that will over-age his 'parents' and not add to his character's thin personality. (Unless Gio crashes out with money and drugs after discovering he's a Q, which could work.)

The new girl playing Emma is clearly strong IMO, but why should we care about her and Gio being insta-paired up? Even Eden is solid and strong in certain areas and her stories are just not good. Kai is a cipher to me, and overall they're either not hiring strong new actors or making fleshed out new characters to pair with their existing people. Which leaves talented people like Mazza or whoever else adrift.

Oh, I don't either to all of the above.   Take them far away!

I just thought the show explained it okay.  They are all kind of at a stalemate and it's harder to remove the kids from the Q's than just leave them there.  They are safe.  Tracy is just putting her foot down and Carly/Jason/Sonny care about Michael more at this point like usual.

    • Correction. The PM is still there, although you "left the conversation" after being called out by me.
    • Definitely.  The Lois I loved in the 90's would have a fulfilling life.  Her entire existence on this show is keeping Gio's paternity a secret and that is a waste of an amazing character.

I do, too. In truth, I feel like every regime post-strike hasn't had a single clue how to handle Lois, and it's disappointing, because Rena's return to GH was such a blessed event I did not think I'd live to see happen in modern times.

This is a post you made, and quickly deleted, that referenced the alleged (by you) death of an actress on General Hospital. Again, you are trying to break news, whether it's true or not. That is nothing but immoral, disgusting and outrageous.
    • My hope is that Lois leaves town for a few months after the Gio secret blows up and then returns with her own story and a love interest.
    • Max Brady is still in a relationship or marriage with his niece Chelsea Brady.  They live in London.  This was confirmed by Chelsea at Victor's funeral. I think she was pregnant then?  They now have a son named Isaac.
    • This is an email I received from the PM you sent to Toups and me, just two days before Drake died. That's not something one says when they didn't know his medical condition wasn't already public. You may have quickly deleted the PM after I called you out on having the audacity to think it was appropriate to share at all, but an email lives on. You clearly intended to break the news because you have no clue about what is appropriate and what is not. If you want to become a gossip columnist, as I've told you before, create your own site. I'm sick of the drama you manifest here.
    • Feelings after a week's worth of episodes (and excuse me if I get character names wrong but I'm not googling so as not to spoil anything) Kim Hunter (Nora) is excellent. This is Emmy caliber work. I have no idea if she got nominated, but she would have tapes from this week if she did. She has scenes with Eliot and I'm curious if this is going anywhere because soaps rarely if ever put characters together unless they have a storyline planned for them. I hope so because that was a good scene. I'm still confused about Paige's past storyline with the terrorists. There's a spoiler surprise this week. The spoiler surprise was connected to Nora's scenes and it worked well. I hope to see the spoiler surprise with Nora. Are Paige and her bodyguard supposed to be in a romance? Or did she romance her stepbrother? (I think it's her stepbrother as he is Nora's son, and she's Owen's daughter, right?) April/Draper: Can't say I care all that much about the house issue. The mother gave part of the payment, so what?!? Draper is getting on my nerves with his macho nonsense although the posts here leave me to think he has a right to be upset. I like Margo so much so I don't care.  Sharon Gabet had a fun entrance in this week's episodes for me. She comes in and makes out with Eliot. She has a fight with a character named Sara who she then slaps. She comes home to a baby and her mother-in-law. Fantastic scene. I think this is Lois Kibbee based on looks, but I don't know the character's name. Kibbee and Gabet are amazing in this scene. I don't quite get the background (Raven was married before and cheated on Kibbee's son?) and I don't remember the new husband's name. I'm curious where this is going.  I'm enjoying EON. My only quibble is that I don't like the show's logo. Looks very cheap.
    • I feel like the fallout is going to be bad for Lois and I don't want her to leave town.  I wish the show could find a place for her that worked better.
    • The lies.
