The Victor/Kyle scene was intriguing. MM look of horror was great when Victor said that Diane was going to take the keys back to Jabot and more + that he'd set a time bomb in the Abbott household.

I do like that they are planting the seeds that all the things Jack + Diane said in their ruse rang way too deep and truthful to all those who observed it. If there's no thing we know in the 40 years since Diane came on the scene is that she is never complacent or satisfied.

Now, Josh Morrow, don't you dare be one of those men wearing Bieber pants. You are too old and look too good to not be wearing pants that show what God gave you. Quit.

That said...I guess it will be a slow crawl to the next part of Sharon's storyline. I'm kinda ready cuz these Jordan/Ian scenes are giving me FV's block filming over on GH. lol. Things to see them out and about and the reveal of how Sharon has been acting the way she's been acting. And it's cute that it's Nick clueing in Chance.

Kyle/Claire...meh. Though to be fair...I liked MM when he had pandemic bod so I'm bias. I am starting to wonder how Claire will react when she realizes Jordan is out and about though. Perhaps she will be a spoiler for them going forward.

I hated Dr. Eve Guthrie on GL and associate her in part with the downfall of that show, but Claire’s whitewashing is even deeper than hers. At least a lot of characters still openly feared Eve would lose her grip on her mental health, even when it appeared she’d gotten on the straight and narrow. Claire should be treated more as a ticking time bomb and not some giggly, pure Mary Sue. Nikki shouldn’t have gotten so comfortable with her so quickly, for example.

Times a million.

This girl went to college and managed to get a big ass tattoo. She had corporate experience. She lived plenty of life away from Aunt Jordan. She isn't some rube. She may have been groomed, but she was an adult and she chose to participate when she had other options. You can't just handwave that. There has to be a redemption arc like Michael Baldwin had.

How is Nikki all "teehee, you should be my assistant again!" when the last time, she drugged her and hooked her up to an IV of freaking alcohol which gave Nikki PTSD for months? So stupid.

So Kyle has been with two of Victor's granddaughters. Not that I'm trying to give Josh Griffith ideas, but he could eventually pursue Faith and make it three for three. Obviously he can't be with Katie because they are biological cousins.

Absolutely. She’s not some rube, but the show treats her like some innocent, overprotected schoolgirl. The redemption arc would have been interesting and soapy. Perhaps Victoria would have been her advocate while Nikki/Nick/Victor were still on the fence or even hostile. Perhaps Claire could have found a dubious mentor in Adam as a Newman family black sheep.

And there’d be this fascinating undercurrent to the scenes with Summer, as Summer would be pushing Claire to see if she could get her to break and expose her loose grip on reality. And perhaps Claire would be afraid she’d lose Kyle if he knew she wasn’t quite together yet.

Anyone else notice how great SC has looked during the past two weeks? It's interesting how natural she looks as soon as the confession/stopped taking the tainted pills.

I'm starting to wonder if make-up intentionally made Sharon look more puffy because she was being drugged.

I know there's speculation about it being for other reasons, but the timing seem far too coincidental.

See? I didn't even think about the fact that Phyllis might have seen what hit her car. Well-played. So this Sharon storyline continues to turn. That however does not make that Giggly Heffa any less annoying though. I hated those popshots she was taking at Christine...still mad that Danny picked her. And I'm not looking forward to a Heffa/Whiny Billy/Sally triangle. Or I could be if it means that Phyllis and Billy will get together and I can just FF them. Poor Sally.

I didn't mind Nick vs Adam at all. I'm not sure if this is really Adam trying to be a good friend to Sharon or another brother triangle merry-go-round, but I felt those were good scenes.

Lord have mercy. Please don't let Summer be jealous of Kyle/Claire.

I continue to love the little things that have changed with Ed Scott's return. I felt this episode and last both saw the directors really trying to be creative/old school with some of their camera angles. And I guess the swooping in camera angle in the beginning of episodes is here to stay. That said...yeah this CGI needs to go.

Was that Victor's Theme that was playing when Victor let Kyle know what time it was and he's about the long game?

Victor. Ahhhh....Victor. I can't believe how a little bit goes a long way. He was something else as he matched wits with Kyle, tried to mess with Diane, and went up against Jack. And ooooo at Jack getting the last word. You all were right. PB clearly enjoyed that. Go, Jack!!!

Okay, Summer, girl, I see you. The light shade she was throwing at Claire during their talk. I wish that Claire did not take it so well. And Claire definitely should have felt a way when Summer broke the news to Kyle before Claire could...and it's CLAIRE'S news.

Nothing really happened, but I really enjoyed all the characters in this episode. I see the directors were at it again with interesting camera angles.

But overall, this week was okay. It had a sense of building up stories again. Just disappointed that they lost all of that momentum when they had a nice groove going. Probably because GH has a good grip on me these last two weeks with two central main plots that rotate easy between A and B plot and a debatedly solid C plot underneath it.

    • I did some research and the story wrapped up with a caretaker responsible for Georgina's death who then  tried to do away with Laurie but a vision of Georgina spooked him and he fell to his death. So there was a supernatural element.
    • AI has it wrong. David was working as an aide at PV Hospital due to failing to save his brother's life and refusing to continue as a doctor. His true profession was revealed later. Edna had divorced him while he was in Vietnam and he had no reason to be in contact with her. He had no idea that he had a daughter.  Ruth was Ruth Martin, she was still married to Joe, not Jeff. He was not deceiving Ruth as he believed that Edna was his ex. The poisoning story happened late in his run and probably introduced when they knew Gleason was leaving. AI's interpretation of him as conniving seems to based on that short lived poisoning story and other misinformation. For most of 76 he was involved in the Ruth/Joe triangle to the point where Ruth was ready to divorce Joe and leave town. Joe had to have surgery, David operated and Ruth suddenly realized she wanted to stay with Joe despite all the problems they'd been happening. David then got involved with Christina with Jeff and then Edna as complications. And he arrived late 75 not 76.
    • Interesting that they started going into a supernatural direction with ghosts - I don't think they really did that before? I wonder if it was a response to getting put so late in the afternoon and I guess trying to appeal to that former Dark Shadows audience?
    • That makes sense then! Is there a place where you can read more Daytime Serial Newsletters? They sound very informative. Thank you

    • Yep. Access to the Vault works fine but upon downloading attempts an error message pops up.   Maybe it is just a temporary glitch.

    • Downloading isn't working at all.
    • I'm pretty sure this ep is  from Dec 73 From the Daytime Serial Newsletter Ian and Valerie Northcote are deeply concerned over Laurie's  life being increasingly dominated by hallucinations and fantasies about Georgina, the former owner of the house the Reddins recently bought and are now living in. Doreen Post (Linda Purl) was involved in that story .Perhaps she was going to be revealed as Georgina's daughter? Wonder how that story evolved and whether it was wrapped up before cancellation? and thanks to @skylark

    • Thank u so much! I love that show and the more I see of it the more I want to find more of it even if it’s just in script form. But that house and especially the room looked like Victoria Winters room from dark shadows lol  this was great find! Thanks
