Why is Clyde not dead?

I’m glad that he’s leaving but he needs to die, not just be in a coma. Seriously, enough is enough. I swear I think the only reason Ron kept him around was because he needed a villain that he wasn’t hot for. Or because he felt he needed a supervillain. But if you think about it, no soap needs a supervillain anymore. I do like that type of character but honestly, the days of Stefano, Victor, Helena, James, etc. are over. In the case of Days, these clowns like Clyde and Konstantin could never compare to Stefano and Victor anyway. Plus, there are plenty of characters on the canvas already who can be a villain. Hopefully, Clyde doesn’t pop up again in these final months of Ron’s run and hopefully, the new writers forget he ever even existed.

But overall, I enjoyed today. There were a lot of sweet family and friends moments, especially with Steve and Kayla. And I also liked Gabi comforting JJ when he revealed that he felt he was letting Abigail down.

Tate, Holly and Aaron were really nice too, even though I still think Tate and Holly are dicks because of everything that happened with Sophia

But I really liked them helping out Aaron today. And even though the actor still needs work, I’m liking Aaron’s characterization. He’s a sweet kid. Btw, it’s definitely time to get Mark out of prison. I’m still not sure how he can be charged in Salem for a crime that took place in Paris.

Clyde is not dead/dead because we still can't have nice things. I was SO displeased when they said he was in a coma!

OMG, you can say that again. For starters, both Stefano & Victor were in their own ways, class acts. Scary, sure, but, not hokey. Both Clyde & Konstantin could've been country bumpkins.

May these words fly from your keyboard to the soap god's universal script.

I found the show to be overall pretty saccharine.

All of them are fairly worthless to me. None of them really work, at least not to me.

Just finished watching yesterday's episode. It was a utter mess.

The Leo/Kerry/Javi scenes were horrible. Can they just kill off Leo and send Greg Rikkart packing?

The Cat and Chad scenes with her mother were just as bad.

Clyde is such a wimp of a villain.

The best part of the episode was Cat's mom shooting Clyde.

The actor that plays Aaron is not good at acting, but he's endearing and charming so I don't mind him.  The awkwardness sort of works for the character at this point.  He seems like a real teen while Holly/Tate are too composed for their troubles.

Sofia is the star here though.  I love her.

I just feel as if Clyde who sexually abused his daughter Jordan, should’ve never stayed this long, but writers glossed over the Jordan abuse and kept on trying to make him even more dastardly all for the sake of plot. It’s as if Curtis Reed/Paul Mendez (Nicole’s dad) stayed on for years outsmarting the likes of Victor and Stefano.

As much as I make fun of the writing, Gabi was able to articulate how I felt about Abigail.   She is at peace, regardless of where her body lays, and that is what is important.

I assume that's not the end of Caterina, or is it?  I mean, is Cat going to go back to Salem while her Mom is in jail in Vancouver?  Cat mentioned it was self-defense, but that's a stretch, given that Clyde was unarmed with three guns trained on him while he was shot.

And now that they've hired another doctor (although I still don't know why Sarah doesn't go back to work), is that the end of Dr. Mark Greene?

But, welcome to the tribe Greene family, it is always good to have one family on a soap celebrating Hanukkah, (even if they celebrate “both” as Aaron said).  I still don't get how Aaron and Felicity are paying the bills.  And, I will ask it every day until we get an explanation, did Caterina live in Salem this whole time right under John, Steve, and Konstantin's nose?

The Philip and Xander crushes were on full display today

But I’m enjoying all of this. This is one umbrella storyline that I could definitely get behind

I like that it involves so many characters and has so many smaller storylines underneath it. The only thing I’d say is that maybe they should have waited a little before Philip and Xander went to court; that way everyone’s storylines could progress a little more, leading to a big explosive reveal in court. But whatevs, I’m looking forward to seeing what happens. And I’m still wondering if something gonna happen between Xander and Stephanie.

I liked the Belle/Brady scenes too. They have really good sibling chemistry and it’s good to see they each have someone to talk to about their failed love lives. And I really like that it looks like Belle is gonna end up being Philip’s lawyer in his case. Though I’d prefer it if they didn’t give us Shawn/Belle/Philip 58.0 lol I like what this could lead to for all three of them in their own personal storylines, especially Shawn’s.

Speaking of Shawn, I’m glad that Shawn is back on the force and is working with Jada again. Days missed a great opportunity to do something with the two of them the last time they were on the canvas together and I hope they take that chance now. Maybe

The Ava/Kristen showdown was ok. The problem with all this though is that it’s making Kristen look so pathetic and desperate. This character is stuck in a deep rut and I’m hoping everyday that she’s finally given something different to do once the new writers come in.

    • That is one of the best insults I've heard in a long time.  I burst out laughing when Kat called Eva that.  LOL Their scenes, of course, were really good.  Colby and Ambyr have so much chemistry.  The only thing I'd change is Kat saying "you're dead to me."  That's a phrase usually said about someone you care about.  I would've preferred something like "You will never be my sister," or something similar to that.  Nice contrast at the end with both mothers/daughters:  Kat comforting/consoling her mother, and Eva being locked out by her mother.  Yeah, I wasn't a big of fan of the singing either, especially after your daughter's life has been destroyed.  What?  LOL
    • Trisha Mann-Grant, Ambyr Michelle, Sean Freeman are destined for bigger and better things. They need to move on as soon as their initial contracts are done.
    • Daphnée Duplaix and Trisha Mann-Grant on Instagram live, 5/5/2025 just concluded, saved here https://www.instagram.com/p/DJSsYb7PDv8/
    • I really need to see Anita in a scene that isn't with a family member. In fact, I would have preferred that she would have gotten rid of the mob and had a one on one with Leslie to lay down the law with her.  I'm going to say it, Mike Manning has been completely lifeless on this show. Other than people's superficial fondness for him, I don't get what they see in him as an actor. I never saw him on DAYS though. The show had another really strange cut right before the opening credits where it looked like they almost cut off Nicole mid-sentence.  Kat/Eva are carrying this show on their backs. Lock them in for lifetime contracts, I beg.
    • There's a 1980 scene of Victor and Katherine in the Chancellor Estate living room where they went over a contract that would put Victor in charge of Chancellor Industries, but it was rewritten that Katherine brought Victor to Genoa City so he could run Chancellor Industries.
    • Put me in the minority in being happy about Cat not being Abby. After the two adult recasts played tag with the role, it's time for a few years of rest. I have a huge list of things I hate about RC's writing, but that choice was not one of them.
    • Except she never worked there at all and barely even knew where the Chancellor Industries plant was located  In 1980, Kay attempted to install Derek Thurston (her third husband) in a position at Chancellor Industries.  The show introduced a character named George Packard who'd supposedly been running Chancellor since Phillip's demise in 1975.  (George Packard's storyline in 1980 was attempting to keep Derek Thurston from bankrupting the company.)   We didn't hear much of anything about Chancellor Industries for the next twenty-five years.  Then, at that point, we met Eliot Hampton (?) who'd been running the company for decades and had been embezzling from it.  Jill took it upon her herself to oust Eliot Hampton (?) and take control of the company.  That's when Kay became actively involved in the management of the company.  From 1974 till 2004 Kay Chancellor was strictly a hands-off owner.  It was downright absurd that the last ten years of life, she was written as this formidable businesswoman who'd always been involved in Chancellor Industries.
    • Well, it's going to be something when he finds out the truth.  Agreed.  On that note, I can't until it all comes out. I find Lulu to be ridiculous.
    • I almost posted this because that was my initial reaction too:  this is weird/cringe, to sing around a piano after such a huge family shattering bomb was dropped.  But I got over that and just enjoyed her voice, the song and the montage we saw as everyone's emotions in the aftermath were pouring out.
    • The Equalizer original series was not a big hit yet it became a movie franchise and got a reboot series. The Equalizer reboot lasted 5 seasons, so one season longer than the original series.
