She returned to set in August 2024, which is after the "writer" was out, effective immediately. So maybe Paula Cwikly & Jeanne Marie Ford got into the scripts, and fixed things? Because, both Christie Clark & Chandler Massey are seen, and they aren't back until June 2025, which is well-after his material is ending.

Yeah, I was mistaken -- I caught more on the second watch and there's definitely shots of stuff that are post-Ron (the Drake stuff, I think). But the bulk of this seems to be Ron's material. Ron was the one who originally brought in Sami for whatever story this is, though.

We definitely have like six months of Ron material left. They didn't throw out months of written/shot episodes. But this has a focus to it that's promising.

This all looks really good. I assume the person with Julie is either Spencer Olsen (Steven’s son) or a relative of Dougie LeClair. Either is good to me! These returns don’t line up with the next few months airdates. Alison Sweeney was filming in August, that’s like April/May airdates. Wasn’t the other returns announced after? Probably May? Very confused seeing this. I feel like they definitely are previewing spring with some of this. Obviously that Hope scene at the end with Julie is from then….cause PR didn’t return for Doug’s Memorial episodes.

And, if they are previewing spring, that must mean winter is gonna be boring as hell.

Nice to know that Disney twunk can subsidize himself again beyond his OnlyFans which he later pretended was him getting 'hacked.'

A thought and a follow-up

Thought: It is odd that every time Shawn-D comes back to Salem, they instantly take him back at the Salem PD (especially because last time he was fired for drinking on the job).

Follow-up:  I re-watched the video three times on Instagram, and now it is recommending that I should follow Alan Alarr (no, thank you).  It is like the algorithmic version of Beetlejuice!

Why in the world do they have Belle in that old middle aged woman ugly dress? That's something her mamma would wear and standing next to Carrie who has 19 years on her non soras and she is dressed better and younger than Belle. I hope we're not back to Grandma Belle

Watched it and loved it. And I see @Soapsuds is going to be happy seeing his man.

I was wondering about the timeline as well since Sami ain't showing up before spring and the new writers start in the spring so thank you all for clarifying that this is not ALL of RC's writing.

And I teared up seeing Hope at Doug's grave. I knew I would, but seeing it hit so different. Since my first memories of Doug was him singing to Gina to coax Hope out of her when Stefano had Hope under his control.  Since her father had been mentioned on the show often enough for I saw him...he lived up to the hype for me and adored their relationship when I saw it.

The only explanation I can think of is that they're trying to emphasise on the fact that Marlena and Belle are mother and daughter. But yes, them getting a Belle that was barely different from Alison Sweeney in age was always an issue and the dress just ages her up. Maybe Martha pissed someone in the wardrobe department off.

It's interesting that they're airing stuff that's clearly not coming for another six months - as someone else said, maybe they did go back and re-edit? Then again, it's probably that they just want to tease the new regime - another issue with being eight to ten months ahead...

    • Well, you are the most ill-informed, condescending person on this board so I am glad you enjoy mocking me? Or whatever you are trying to do lol.  You literally can't comprehend the simplest things about the show and don't watch, but are literally shaming me for being a women?

One other side note, because now I've re-read 1993-1994.  I think that I found a ret-con issue. In 1993 after John finds out that Stefano is Kristen's father. It is not like I am claiming to have found nuclear fission, clearly mistakes happen.  But, I found this to be amusing. In 1993, Stefano becomes deadly ill, so Kristen tells John that she needs to be by her father's side, but not to worry about the deadly disease, because she's adopted.  Given, that I've always thought of Kristen as being adopted, until the more recent cannon that she is Stefano's biological child, it is interesting that in 1993, the week before Tony comes to town to announce that he is Kristen's fiancée.  Kristen is saying that she can't give blood to her dying father, because she was adopted.  So, the current reverse in cannon, neglects that detail. It is so funny to read this and then see Kristen and Tony in the crypt this week, 32 years later.  That's more than half the show's history at this point, amazing.
    • It was shuffled off the stove way before that. Think of the early summer stuff with Gio, Emma, and Dalton, which they basically dropped for weeks at a time, and then also put them on the back burner until recently.

    • After the slap it does feel inevitable - being arrested and thrown out right after her big win.
    • Yesterday it was Theo and Jada.  Today it's Chad and Belle.  What a mess.
    • I asked my soap historian GPT to help pull together the best available sources on Daniel Pilon’s run, and here’s what the research confirms: * Pilon played Max Dubujak on *Ryan’s Hope* from 1983–88. * He began appearing as Alan Spaulding on *Guiding Light* in 1988. * An academic source notes that he appeared as **Max and Alan simultaneously in November 1988 * His later-life interviews mention major upheavals, including losing his home in the Northridge earthquake and declaring bankruptcy in 1994.  That’s the factual foundation. Now for the human side of it. I’ll admit Pilon was never my favorite Alan. The Spauldings are supposed to have that patrician, Midwestern money vibe, and suddenly here comes this very European-sounding gentleman sweeping into Springfield like he wandered in from a different soap entirely. It created a strange tonal shift, at least in my memory. Whether he was intended to be temporary is hard to pin down, but honestly, looking at what he was dealing with in his real life, I don’t know that the show ever had a truly stable window to figure it out. He was going through marital strife, while being talked about as the "next James Bond" back in Canada, and juggling work on two soaps at once is a lot. Under those circumstances, the question of whether he was the “right” type for Alan becomes almost secondary to the fact that he was working through multiple emergencies while stepping into one of GL’s biggest roles. So for me, the story of his Alan isn’t just about casting fit. It’s about an actor navigating chaos and the show adapting on the fly. Also, the proverbial soap hill that I would defend its honor, is that Ron Raines in the final week was so amazing, that for me, it erases all prior memories of his performance.
