I know I've said many a time I wanted more people on this show to just fúck more often, but it is insane that Willow chooses now to do it without even knowing about Michael and Sasha. Earlier today(?) she vows to recommit to Michael and their marriage but less than 24-48 hours later she is letting Uncle Drew lay pipe just because Sam died!

They haven't even laid enough groundwork for it to be like, 'Willow finds Drew too irresistible so any excuse is enough.' Which I could totally buy, given a bit more time and a little writing for it! But no, it just randomly happens because it's sweeps after Willow has been vowing up and down she is done with it and thinks her husband is blameless. Huh??

11-4

See? That was truly allowed to BREATHE.

And then...there's Robert and Holly. Those scenes stuck out like a sore thumb in an otherwise good somber episode.

Like I was just talking about in the B&B Thread, I do like it when an event happens, and it gradually is revealed to the town/community. It makes it feel like a show, a town, and of course a soap. So Jason going to tell Spin/Maxie about Sam's death and Alexis explaining more to Kristina and Molly were good. Also good was the aftermath of said death with (especially) Laura/Rocco, Sonny/Dante, and even Drew/Scout.

I think my standouts this episode were BA, NLG, GF with the Rocco actor, and KV. DZ I felt it a little less than Friday, but he still looked devastated and all I wanted was to give Dante a hug. And since I saw it above...yeah, I am kinda wondering if the actor who plays Danny is just a case of he is playing the scene wrong or just the face structure. Because for every moment I don't think he's smiling per se, BUT given the angle of the camera it kinda looks like he is. But I am just coming into the week so I guess I will see how he plays it in more scenes. Acting after all IS subjective.

That said...I wasn't feeling Kate M at all. And from what little I saw online neither was anyone else. NLG was making you feel her pain. KV was great with the assist. And then...there's Kate M. Almost reluctant to play the scene. But again, that could just be me. And I am saddened if this was the way to conclude the Kristina vs Molly feud. Not surprised. But saddened.

That the show is still teasing Jason and Anna shows what a dead end corner both characters are in right now.

If I were a new viewer, I'd probably think Anna and Jason were the same age. I'd have no idea that they were both on the show in 1991, he as a teen, she as the female lead, and that the actors are in fact 11 years apart in age

Ewww

Cuz I would think there are a few other people Jason can mix it up with besides Anna and the ick factor. Heck, we got Britt and Jason almost at random so they should try again.

Now Anna on the other hand...outside of My Beast Brennan...would be the problem person to find someone to match her dating wise.

Ric called Jason Sonny’s errand boy and I smiled. I really hope Ric is actually going to be able to use the PCPD’s closeness to both Sonny and Jason to get Ava off.

I love Tracy and Cody deciding to work together to take down Drew

You got to be kidding me. I’m supposed to feel something for Kristina when she never has and never will accept she was going to steal her sisters baby. Everytime she calls it the wrong name I just get annoyed all over again. I assume they’re going to use Sam’s death to unite Kristina and Molly but they better not ever have her accepting Kristina calling that her baby and not Irene.

I just…can’t.

I'm not sure what plans Mulcahey had for her, but I think that period is what led to the current failures. From the start the whole story seemed bound for disaster - putting a brand-new actress in a surrogacy plotline that annoyed viewers and the whole Blaze closeting saga, on top of having her wring her hands over Sonny (and any moment where she was going to see the light about him would be short-lived given that it's Sonny).

I think Frank assumed that all they had to do was bring in a "star" from another soap and they could throw anything at her.

This Anna and Jason “friendship.” Has Anna like never interacted with Jason before his most recent death? Because I’m confused why she seems so shocked and upset Jason isn’t going to suddenly start telling her about he and Sonny’s business. The new writers make her so dumb.

I do however love all Anna and Holly scenes. The only thing I know is that Robert is both their exes but Finola and Emma sell their long history and familiarity with each other really well that I don’t even have to know their whole backstory.

And the show truly has moved on from murderer Sonny to good guy Sonny. Anna mentioned Jagger today and I was reminded the FBI just gave up on their case on finding the murderer of an agent. I knew it would happen but I foolishly still hoped for something different.

Drew is such a creep now. He knows his nephew knows and he truly does not give a f.uck

Finola looks incredibly good for her age.

It seems like Anna is still in some hold until they get Valentin back, as I assume they plan to do. It's a credit to her that she has managed to be as prominent as she is when you consider Robin is long gone and Anna's strongest ties are all fading into the past.

There's no such excuse for Jason.

It's a recency bias. People are used to Jason and Sonny being around for years without any purpose. Lucky returning to also not have any purpose, after well over a decade, probably gets more notice.

I mean, everything with Kristina's miscarriage came in after PM left. I do think Kristina seeing through Ava and Natalia had her in a stronger position as a heroine and that Mansi sold it very well. It was the surrogacy fallout that put her on everyone's shitlists, but that (and Blaze) was also from either the strike or CVE's prior run.

    • It really is ridiculous how happy episodes from 40 years ago make me. God, MKA is so young!
    • Holy sh.it. THAT was a damn soap opera. I’m at a loss for words for how good that was.
    • A private elevator penthouse with a spiral staircase to the primary suite.  Sign me up! The only deficit was that various riff-raffs seemed to have easy access to the elevator.

    • Same here.  Anyone who voluntarily left Margo's penthouse set (except to go overseas or to Heaven) was immediately on my blacklist.  lol.

    • The penthouse was my favorite set... and it changed hands from Margo to Draper/April to Miles/Nicole then to just Miles... before he opted to give that beautiful place for that drab house with the even more drab Beth.  That was a jump the shark moment for me LOL
    • The storyline April and Draper are involved in during the summer/autumn of 1979 seems fairly "benign" but soon turns very serious.  April has a VERY intrusive, wealthy mother (Margo Huntington Dorn).  Margo knows that April and Draper (who've recently had a miscarriage and are theoretically never going to be able to conceive another baby) want to buy a house.  Margo hoodwinks them into buying a house they can't afford.  The house is listed at $100,000 (about $400,000 in today's dollars).  Margo pays the first $35,000 and leads Draper to believe the asking price of the house is $65,000 instead of $100,000.  If Draper finds out his meddling mother-in-law paid 1/3 of the cost of the home and tricked him, he'll be mad as hell.   Meanwhile, Draper has received a job offer from a prestigious New York law firm.  Margo pulls some strings and has the senior partner in the firm rescind the offer, to keep April in Monticello.  If Draper finds out about THAT, he'll be even angrier with Margo than he will be about the house trickery.  All of that is "bubbling under the surface" in the fall of 1979 but will be the next major story, as everything begins to spiral out of control.   Yep, you've got the Karrs and their very basic middle-class house, the Victorian-themed place where Miles and Nicole live, April and Draper's old craftsman house with the exposed beams, the Madisons & their Mission revival house, and Margo with her 1970s-chic penthouse.  Each of the sets is completely different.  And their budget was like zero, lol.
    • It felt weird and out of place.  I get it. While I agree with those on here that say he's gotten better, it's still really bad. I'm not seeing the "good" acting some see...but I'll give him a B for being better than when he first started. There's potential. I'll leave it at that.
    • It's like watching paint dry at a slow-ass pace. It's bad acting. Entirely. Excellent? With Claybon? Never. Ever.
