Few observations about Phyllis’ special episode lol:

—Obviously the maid flashback was from 2009, but I seem to recall the Phyllis disguised as a blonde reporter and as a man was from her involvement with Damon and Dominic from like 2004-05. Interesting choice as that storyline is all but forgotten here in 2024.

-It’s easy to forget what a good actress the Stafford use to be in the early 00’s, those flashbacks with PB showed off what she could do, same with that 2003 scene with Danny.

-The moment Stafford is paired with  Morrow, I noticed in all those flashbacks she is always GIGGLING 😂 Easy to see where the genesis of Giggila Heffa came to be.

- “I wAS VERY IMM-MA-TOUR BUT PEOPLE CHANGE I AM MA-TOUR NOW” 😂😂😂😂

Yes, I did really like Phyllis and Jack once upon a time, and Stafford did her best work in the early 00's when she returned to the show. That was her best era, IMO.

I hated that she seemed to fight against that era of the character so much over the years because she preferred playing the Giggly Heffa version.

Nick and Phyllis should have never been more than just an affair. That's one instance where I'm sad Jack Smith didn't get to write out the rest of the story before Latham swooped in and f.ucked this show forever.

Wow, Jack and Diane's arguments in public. Real or fake? I see they flipped on the bitch switch for Diane a couple of weeks ago. Right about the same time they flipped the part in her Bride of Frankenstein gray patch in her hair from the left side to the right. Love it when soaps change a hairstyle at the same time they change a character's personality. rme

Lol you are so MA-TOUR now red,  you just faked your own death last year! 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂, Oyyy……

You know I’m not a big Jack/Phyllis fan, but I do find their earlier love story scenes intriguing, that I want to go back and watch all those episodes circa 2000-2003.

I actually had know idea that Daniel didn’t even recognize his mother when he first came to town….I know Phyllis didn’t have full custody but I always assumed they had still spoken offscreen or had sporadic visits over the years.

I can’t get over her pronunciation nor that factoid lol.

And no, she didn’t have any communication at all with Daniel for years once Danny took Daniel overseas. Gina couldn’t divulge much either at all. Of course it was a major plot point when Paul and Christine discovered Danny had been exaggerating his European career and also found out that Danny had basically dumped Daniel in boarding school for years and rarely visited, which lead to Christine dumping Danny and him leaving town in shame.

Oddly 2004-05 they seemed to be building up to a truce between Phyllis and Christine, first with Christine reluctantly agreeing to represent Phyllis when she was accused of trying to murder Dominic and later when she represented Daniel in the aftermath of Cassie’s death.

Seeing Phyllis, Daniel, Faith, and Summer have these conversations at nighttime IN THE PARK is just ridiculous.

Yeah, we get it -- Phyllis doesn't have a home.

If this doesn't represent the sets problem on this show, I don't know what does.

Keeping a character like Phyllis viable for decades requires some finesse/nuance in the characterization, but the writing and Staffords' interpretation has been sledgehammer for years.

Nothing beats Lauren's special. They all sat in the lobby of the Grand Phoenix talking about the award she had received at a gala in another room offscreen.

Ouch….i remember it was retconned that Danny became somewhat of a deadbeat dad, but didn’t really know to that extent. For some reason I swore Gigandets version did interact with Phyllis?

Wasn’t it  you who mentioned there was a funny scene during that story where Paul and Lynne actually googled Danny and people had referred to him being a “has been rock star”? Lol

Same. I can still see her sashaying into Jack's office with that pixie cut. And the fact she became a tech wiz and was written intelligently...but the craziness was always beneath the surface until someone called her out on her kids. Her best era.

I'll say this much. MG is acting his a$$ off. Now that the framing has become more and more into focus, Daniel is losing it. And we know I'm loving seeing Chance in a story so yay!!

Jack and Audra...as long as he ain't her next love interest...YES, PLEASE. I loved their scenes. Even when he is mad at Kyle, Jack was not liking her shading him. And her giving him the info that he had already suspected was delicious.

Sometimes it's funny to see how Victor forgets that Adam also see Jack as a father figure. So he will be conflicted at any plot to go after him. I will always love that he gives No Fs for Billy though. Either of them. lol.

Probably was me haha! Back in late November/early December 2003 Paul wanted to know exactly what Danny was actually up to after hearing him exaggerate about a recent show in London. I remember Lynne did a quick Internet search, gasped and discovered Danny was a washed up has been and found an online ad for the  show in London was at actually at a seedy nightclub and not some fancy arena like he said. 🤣😂

Ouch poor Danny! Was that Jack Smith? Seemed a bit harsh.

But now we have 60 plus Danny still rockin' the world and packing the arenas.

In today's Y&R everybody is super successful.

Much more believable that Danny might be on the nostalgia circuit or now just playing small venues, like many real life artists from the 80's.

Yep that was Jack Smith. At first it seemed they were going to do a throwback nostalgic coupling as of course both Paul and Christine were taking a break once they finally addressed the rape, we had scenes with Paul & Lauren and then Danny and Christine for like Thanksgiving or Christmas that year, but then of course the show quickly paired Lauren with Michael due to her involvement in Kevin’s story and Danny was destroyed to curry favor to both Paul and Phyllis.

Oddly I was fine with it at the time,  mainly because of Danny’s massive sanctimonious behavior, and because the seeds had been sown for his downfall back in late 97-98 when Danny became obsessed Christine himself and plotted against Paul.
