DAYS: October 2024 Discussion Thread

It's funny, I don't find myself missing Nicole.  As much I felt that the actress was treated was unjustly, Nicole was never my favorite character.  However, it feels like Holly forgiving Nicole is a bad move story-wise.  It is one thing to forgive Eric, and gain some insight into how she was transferring her anger on to Brady (although that is remarkable insight for a teen). But now that her estrangement from Nicole has ended, they will forever be burdened with having to explain her absence.

For example, why won't Nicole be there for Holly's graduation?  De Gaulle airport is closed due to weather.  Why won't Nicole be at Holly's wedding?  Tate got sick and needed her. etc, etc...

Also, as I noted in the spoiler discussion, I hate it when production relies on hair and makeup to indicate a character change.  It is as if they think we are too dumb to recognize that this is now Kat and not F-Abby.  Meanwhile, the gal was kept locked in an apartment for months and still seemed to blow dry her hair straight.

-- I don't trust that this show considered when to add this Drake tribute. I don't believe they gave any thought to that at all. I think the tribute was ready, so they added it.

-- Unpopular opinion here, I know, but I've enjoyed JPL on his return. It's all over-the-top, but it seems intentional to me, and it works. It's hard to look away, I know that.

-- Javi might be a cliche so far, but the actor is pretty good.

I am going to give the show the benefit of the doubt.  It was a picture and a caption.  That probably took someone 10 mins, which is why I thought it was shocking it wasn't shown the Monday after he passed.  I am going to consider it intentional due to the fact John was mentioned numerous times today.

I really enjoyed the Maggie/Holly scenes, and that they’re continuing to build the relationship between the two of them. Maggie is, sort of, the steady hand that Holly needs in her life right now. And I like the advice that Maggie gave her about Tate.

Speaking of Tate, his storyline was also going really well today. And I still don’t mind him being dumb, because it actually makes sense to me. He’s a teenage boy; he’s supposed to be dumb and horny

As for Chad and Cat, they deserve better than this. And seriously, if Shane was able to reach out to the prison in order to have Clyde be scrutinized more, can’t he just have him killed, or suicided?

Btw, are they really gonna go there with Brady/Ava?

Despite the ickiness of Ava having once been involved with John, I don't mind Brady/Ava.  TB/EM have nice chemistry.  It's better than Brady/Kristen round 1000 or whatever was happening between Ava/Roman lol.  Strange Ava isn't the least bit concerned about Stefan or wondering where he is.

I like Sofia/Tate.  They seem to be moving way too fast, but at the same time they've had more real conversations than Holly/Tate ever did before they decided they were in love after 1 date.  Besides, Sofia seems to come with way less drama and baggage at this point so I can see Tate just going for it.  He's 17.

I didn't love the Chad/Cat scenes.  I am over this story.

I agree: Eric Martsolf & Tamara Braun have some great chemistry... makes me wonder if he'd spark with Laura Wright.

But, Jennifer Bransford would be first in line, right? But, I do appreciate them trying to put someone into Brady's orbit again that isn't the usual two suspects (Chloe/Nicole).

Sometimes things happen on DAYS and I don't question it, like why Kat has such an extensive wardrobe.

But, today, when the warden called Steve to say that Clyde escaped, it took me right out of the episode.  It could've been written that Steve got a news alert on his phone.  Or the radio in the pub could've been interrupted by the news.

But, of all the people in Salem, why would the warden of a maximum security prison call Steve Johnson to say that Clyde escaped?  Steve and his family are in no immediate danger, he has no information about Clyde's whereabouts, and an escaped convict shouldn't be kept secret.  So, it makes no sense.

And, at some point, shouldn't the citizens of Salem begin to question why there is a prison escape almost every year right before Halloween?
