Just saw some of the scenes with Holly and Sasha, and taken on their own terms they were quite enjoyable. But this is the kind of "big reveal" that works for a character who's been on the show for 6 months, not for one who's been on the show for 6 years. Knowing that Sasha has been keeping her connection to Holly a secret for all these years certainly makes the character more interesting, but doesn't really square with anything we've seen onscreen. 

It's like if they suddenly revealed that all these years, Willow has been a spy for the DVX sent to take down the WSB. (Actually, maybe they should go with that idea so that Willow could finally have something interesting to do).

Lord, did they really have to bring OLTL into it again? Sasha claims Holly left her in Llanview with David Vickers years ago because "Ethan was in trouble". Was Martin claiming Blair slept with David not bad enough?

I don't know.  To me, Holly and Sasha being mother and daughter smacks of the writers trying to launch a Liesl-Britt 2.0.  I agree the scenes were good, but I hate the idea.  It is another example of revisionist history at its worst.  Sure, it's only a soap opera, escapist entertainment, and fans have always asked writers to use a show's history.  However, to use a show's history properly, the history has to be respected and must properly fit.  This doesn't for me, even though I like both actresses and both characters.  To me, it would have made far more sense to form an unlikely bond, but, it is what it is.

It's all just so tired.

I'd rather Sasha stick around than Tree; re-pair her with Michael, dye her hair back to brunette, and call it a damn day.

Soaps play so fast and loose with character ages (SORASing etc) that you can't tie them to real world dates like that.
