The Lucas/Maxi and the Liz/Aiden/Lucky stuff was the best part about today's episode. I could care less about the two other stories.

I'm glad they not wasting time re-establishing Lucas and Maxi's bond. They were very close as teens.

Aiden coming out to Lucky was wonderfully done. Both actors did a good job. I'm glad we finally reaching the point where gay characters can come out and both parents be accepting.

Having said that though, when Aiden says he's using his business to save up money to go to pastry school in Paris, my first thought was: Aiden you wouldn't have to if your father Lucky wasn't a dead beat.

While I appreciate the show is acknowledging Lucky has been a dead-beat dad,  Liz and Aiden need to be angrier at him about it.

I agree with all this. While I'm really happy to see Lucky accept Aiden so quickly, I want to see some pushback against him disappearing for so long.

We just had Natalia The Homophobic Mother, so I'm glad we're not getting a repeat of that with Lucky.

Disagree completely. He didn't look pained at all. He looked emotional.

And that preview? Looked incredibly good to me -- and I can't wait to see it.

The coming out with Aiden was too nicey for me. It was unrealistic for me. There really wasn't any drama with Aiden coming out and Lucky being an absentee dad.

VH is fitting very well as Lucas. Enjoyed his scenes with Maxi.

I'm hoping Lucky s meltdown at Bobbie's has to do with Aiden. I'm sure it has to do with Lulu.

The coming out to Lucky was nicey and unrealistic, I agree. Lucky could have asked more questions, such as "How do you know?" or "When did you discover this about yourself?" or "How difficult has this all been for you?"

Seems like GH just wants to move past that plot point quickly and not pull another "Hi, I'm Natalia with the Homosexualist Lesbian Daughter Who's Going Through A Phase And If Not, I Have to Hate The Sin And Love The Sinner."

The Lucky/Liz/Aiden scenes were great today. I thought the way both JJ and NuAiden played the nervous tension of a father and son who are strangers reuniting was excellent. I’m glad Lucky didn’t make any real excuses for being a deadbeat and Aiden struggling to tell his father he’s gay and Lucky immediately reassuring his acceptance was a touching moment. Then the end with Liz telling Lucky’s he’s not a viable donor for Lulu was good as well, I’m one of the few who enjoy JJ’s brand of emotional acting so I’m looking forward to Lucky having a meltdown at Bobbie’s tomorrow.

I hate how since the writer change Maxie’s airtime as a heavy supporting player has kind of depleted so I was glad to see her and Lucas have scenes today. The show seems to do the returns with less hype better than the big stunt castings and Ric and Lucas just coming to town and immediately linking with the people we’d want to see them with has been a big add to their successful reentries to the canvas.

Holly, Jack and Felicia scenes were okay and I guess it was nice how Michael and Willow introduced Lucas to their unfortunately named child (didn’t know his middle name was Alan btw they should have him go by that when the character is older) but I agree with @wingwalker I didn’t really care much about the rest of the episode. I yawned at the Quatermaine’s upset over the elementary school tribulations of Violet. This side of the canvas is always a struggle to watch for me and I hope they find some more interesting material for them all soon.

So bad, don't care. They have no idea what to do with Chase and Brook Lynn. How can you waste a hot guy like Josh Swickard this way?

In other news, my laugh of the day came from that wig they plopped on Diane's head. Who decided she needed 3x as many bangs? It looked like a Halloween costume wig.

I liked half the episode.  I think there could have been more depth in the Lucky/Aiden scenes, but when the show spends that much time on effing Violet's kindergarten drama, Lucky/Aiden are not at the top of my list of complaints.  Some nice scenes between Lucas/Maxie and Felicia/Holly.

Episode ranking with Violet-4/10

Episode ranking without Violet 8.5/10

    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.

Bay City better be ready, because I'm back!   At Vicky's apartment she is once again drowning in doubts and jealousy. Deep down she realizes that her dream wedding will be a farce and nothing can change that. Bridget tries to calm her down, but the heroine is determined to suffer. She is not hearing any positive thoughts. She doesn't believe Jamie will marry her. At the Cory Publishing building another farce is in process. Iris, once again pretending to be the angel of love and sisterhood... is telling Mac and Rachel some wonderful news. When Iris has good news, you really need to look out for yourself. That's when things are bad. So what are the news? Miss Devil has put Amanda up for an award! Mac is smiling from ear to ear, and Rachel is suspicious. Maybe that's the effect Iris is looking for. To once again accent on the fact that Rachel doubts and criticizes her daughter. Iris will do anything to destabilize their relationship. She is like a cancer. Back to Vicky! Jamie is at the door. Looking like a sad puppy, he has come with a surprise. No, he is not gonna leave her and her unborn... Not yet. He has bought her earrings. Sad face. How nice. NOT. Victoria, of course... manages to break one of them the moment she touches it. Bad premonition maybe? She was back in hysterics. It's not easy to trap a man into marriage. Then you have to live with someone that didn't want you in the first place.  We were introduced to a new character (to me at least she is new) - Cass's sister - Stacey. She is giving me "hidden skeletons in the closet"-vibes. Love a girl like that. Stunning actress. I like her. The highlight of the episode was the strange and creepy reveal of Evan the escort... hugging someone named Janice's grave. I remember she had an issue with Rachel... and Rachel killed her in self defense I think... It was hinted in prior episodes, but I lack the context and story. I just know that everyone at the Frame house was mad that Rachel killed the bish. But I also got the impression that this Janice was sick in the head. So Evan is now talking to her grave and telling her he is going to ruin Rachel's life basically. Oh, Evan... I liked you better as a sexy gigolo.  Overall - 10/10 - how can I rate it lower when I haven't watched in months!!!

    • Once again, Marlena and Kayla were used very effectively and I couldn’t be happier.  Marlena counseling Johnny and then Chanel was the best part of today. They’re really delving into the human emotion of this storyline and I think that’s a good thing. It feels so much mature than it was before. EJ’s fear about what could happen to Johnny if he doesn’t let go of his anger could lead to some really good storylines in the future.  I also really appreciate the way that Paula/Jeanne are mixing it up and having different characters interact with each other. It was nice to see Shawn and Johnny remember that they’re cousins and share a scene together. I liked the parallel that was drawn between the two of them, and what’s going on with their fathers. I did have mixed feelings about everything with Cat though. I enjoyed Chanel warning her about EJ, mostly because it played into the way that she was written today. But I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Chad/EJ scenes. The two of them discussing Chad’s potential feelings for Cat didn’t really keep my interest.  But above all, I feel that everyone is being used more effectively and that we’re getting a better understanding of everyone as well. And that was exactly what Days needed.
    • It's a wild story for sure, especially the final conclusion (and fireworks offcamera, like Victoria Wyndham tearing into Michael Logan).

    • I did some research and the story wrapped up with Eric,a caretaker responsible for Georgina's death who then  tried to do away with Laurie but a vision of Georgina spooked him and he smashed into a mirror, dying of glass wounds. So there was a supernatural element. I wonder if the Brody character in the credits was Eric Brody?
