I do think she is a legacy character, but they only made her one to anchor Sam deeper in the show. I do think she has a place there that is legitimate, I like her family relationships (it's probably the aspect of Sam I most like) and how they built up her place in Alexis and her sisters' lives, but I have also been tired of Sam since the late 2000s, and I wasn't exactly a fan of her to begin with. I think she had a slight new lease on life with Jason gone in 2012 and potentially with Billy Miller's Drew, but none of that lasted long. She has been cruising for decades.

I guess that's where I differ.  I felt she was forced upon us to be a legacy character?  To make Sam/KeMo more important in the moment, but I still consider legacy characters to be born on screen or someone like Lucky who was born off screen but came in as Luke/Laura's child. Even someone like Nikolas who was brought in strictly to be Laura's son with a Cassadine feels more legacy to me.  It's like they just tacked on Sam being Alexis's daughter for one of her many backstories.  I think it's a totally an objective matter of opinion.

I will agree KeMo shines in her Davis family scenes though.  That's probably the most natural part of the character.

All true, but it's a common (and lazy) practice in modern daytime tbh and I think in the end it worked well for her and for Alexis and the girls. Unlike, say, grafting Julian onto them. Oy.

In hindsight, when Lindsey Hartley suddenly appeared at the memorial with no prior notification that Monaco had been ill or had COVID or anything, now I am wondering if Monaco was pulling a Brenda Dickson and not showing up for work.

The show decided not to use her. She wasn't out sick.

Wow! In today's budget conscious times, paying a temp just cause is quite a statement.

Great, GH, now kill off Molly, too (and maybe reveal that Alexis and Julian actually gave birth to a boy, not Sam).

What makes her a legacy character to you?  She randomly became Alexis's daughter when Sam was 30 plus.  Molly and Kristina are legacy characters to me because they were born on screen and basically grew up on screen.  Sam isn't?  She's a retcon daughter that came up out of the blue.  Truly not being argumentative because I agree she's a long time vet.  I just wouldn't call her a legacy character.

Kristina is Daughter of the top character on the show. For right or wrong Sonny is GH!

Well they can bring back Livvie Locke now.... 🤔

Still her best character.

Well, considering Vaganos just got upped to regular status... was this as a way of weighing the scales for losing Monaco?

Oh, Julian was way worse lol.  I would consider Sam's kids legacy characters because of the Q tie, but not really Sam.  A Jerome/Cassadine tie should make her that though.  I just still consider her a rando character that got grounded into the canvas more than legacy.  But, you know, I have no use for Sam so probably a bias lol.

My post said I consider Kristina to be a legacy character?  I consider both Sonny and Alexis to be very important to GH.

I knew this would be uniquely satisfying for you! I haven't had that kind of hatred for Sam since the Guza years ended, but I have been ready for her to go since at least 2005-2010. She's had intermittent periods of my thinking she could be and do more since (like when she turned villainess during the Liason reunion, her best era), but it's never lasted. And honestly Kelly has been phoning it in for a lot of those 21 years.

I mean I could see a case for both (vet vs legacy), but I guess reading what you said, I would say Sam is a vet to me. Now her kids...legacy.

Now if the show played the above...maybe legacy for me. But at this point...both ties are currently played out.

I can't remember who made her face their avatar a mere eight months ago but it holds up!
