I don't care about Blaze, but it's really pretty incredible. It's a firing offense or at least cause for major creative changes, not just bringing back Frank's favored writers, adding a few stars/beloved characters and hoping for the best.

It's ridiculous.  It's house cleaning time.  And if someone, anyone, thinks that Sonny on his meds would hook up with the woman who treated his daughter like this?   I don't even think the Sonny that exists now and is that awful would do that.

It's funny you say house cleaning, but PM was doing that and it was a fireable offense to FV.

Also resting characters on recurring does not save that much money

Even with the good, this episode is just making me see red. At least I'm watching it as I work out.

In the first five minutes, we are going with the HARD reset with a lot of TELLING. And between Jason and Carly to boot. Ugh.

So the last few months have more or less been Jason and Sonny at odds. And they could not even show us seeing Jason find him. We couldn't even see Sonny talking to him or be shut down to Jason, but slowly open up THEN. To see the first steps to reconciliation between the two of them. Them (and Carly makes 3) are just back, and that's it? Like that? No build-up?

That first 5 minutes was so uninspired and a big FU to PM.  Whatever.

So we are back to Dex/Joss as the young lovers. Not shocked. But ugh.

What I did like was seeing the aftermath of the loss of the baby between TJ and Molly. The potential for drama was right there. Yeah, Molly would be about her work...though seeing her confront Ava would also be in keeping with her character. TJ being angry and feeling like Molly was not there for him. I like Angry TJ. And I would like that last part (Molly not being there for him) to organically snowball into drama for them. And that last scene was heartbreaking.

I liked the coda of Sonny going to Kevin (cuz we know how I really felt about seeing He Who Shall Not Be Named in the 8-6 episode). So I liked seeing Kevin seeing Sonny at the penthouse, but wait!!! THIS is how Sonny starts to clue into his meds being messed with??? *cough*stupidreset*cough* And as soon as I said that, Donna ran into the kitchen with Sonny's meds. You know what? Yep, this episode has the very stink of FU to it for sure now. All of that build-up with the meds. And all the ways it could have come out. All the BETTER and DRAMATIC ways it could have come out. These old/new writers went with THIS??? Not only was it slapstick-y, but has FV's hands all over it to me.

Well I am happy to see that the Ava/Trina friendship appears to be saved. But the merry-go-round of guests to Ava's cell is a lot. It felt like a beatdown whether it was justified or not. Back to the world of propping I guess.

Liz...back to being a bit player. Le sigh.

And I guess that last scene was basically let us the audience know whom the focus will be on...Sonny, Carly, Jason, and Joss.

Wow.

I never heard of a possible Rachel/Schyler romance but I would have liked that

They spoiled it in the mags as a spring preview and had them grouped together as getting closer. Teased it with them moving in together onscreen. Then fired both.

To me Jason is different. "Copy that" is taking orders not acting out of friendship.

Add to this that Korte was in position before him. Was she just sitting there with Frank thinking of ways to disrupt what he was doing once Mulcahey started? Some of these stories had to be hers too.

The job shuffles, though messy, I got. It was attempting to group characters together into story clusters. What a mess this show is!

I was horrified by the show rallying behind a bigoted character. Getting rid of Blaze and keeping Natalia is just awful. Reeks of Frank cutting all the gay characters on OLTL instead of reworking them/curtailing Ron’s stupid Dorian story.

It really smells like there’s something going on BTS and I hope we get the answer someday.

As long as Cyrus stays gone, I’ll be happy 😂😂

But it does seem interesting that both of Laura’s brothers were sent packing.

I will not be shocked if Preacher Man Cyrus returns posthaste, since Frank seems enamored of Jeff Kober.

I have no use for Blaze or Natalia.  I am just shocked in the year 2024 someone greenlit the idea to drop the LGBTQ daughter and keep the bigoted awful mom.  Does no one vet these stories?

And it's also not 1996 Sonny.  It's not going to make Natalia more likeable to be with Sonny.  It will make her even more dislikeable.

Maybe they can put ELR in a wig and have her play Blaze too?

Is Ron back?

It seems every time a soap starts tanking in the ratings they blame it on the gay characters and off they go.

They should have cast a character actress as Natalia. They keep hiring name actor/actresses whom they don't want to lose and they eventually become a problem. If this is the end of the lesbians, I see no reason for the mother to stay on the show.

BTW what are they trying to do with Ava? Every character who accuses her of killing that baby seems crazy and/or evil. They do remember that we show Kristina's fall, right? It was not even shown in a did she/didn't she way.

If Ron returns Blaze will be played by Emily O'Brien.

I wonder if Kate Mansi wanted to have an f/f love story as part of her reason for joining - or maybe just a dynamic romance - and this was the lip service they gave her.

I am not surprised they are ditching the lesbian in response to ratings erosion. That and sidelining the black characters remind just how much the show will still try to appeal to extreme conservatives.

I can only imagine various writers have extremely different views of Ava and it bleeds onto the screen. I do wonder if Mulcahey was going to finally write her out (with a big long arc), plans that were dropped, but now we're back in a muddle with the character.

Haha

So Emily is suppose to pass for a latina?

I guess Kristina is going to turn into a bitter and angry non lesbian? Molly figured out Kristina was lying about what happened when she fell. The photo told the story.

I like Ava. They should do an attempted murder mystery a la Jill Abbott from YR.
