That's true. But seriously -- if you read about this in the news (in real life), would you think it was a bad look for the center?

GH is writing a gay-positive story and decides to make the LGBTQ+ center this narrow-minded? With this much lack of understanding about people who are closeted?

Honestly: Who cares? The center sucks and is a discussion point, it has never existed onscreen. It bogs down Kristina in nothing work that only resonates offscreen vs. being active on the show. I'm ready to see the back of it.

One thing at least, GH seems to be telling this story from every POV and I do appreciate that, even though I also think that it’s time for Natalia to go away and never come back. And agreed, that cancelling Kristina does seem a little small-minded on the part of the Center.

Btw, with the way the media demonizes private citizens in real life nowadays, how is Alexis able to file a lawsuit against the Invader?

Oh wow, there was actually a small pay off to something the new writers set up? How about that! The set up to it was clunky, but a little less clunky than how the old writing regime would set things up.

The show needs more payoffs, more drama.. It's so boring. There are literally no stakes.

Great acting from everyone today!

Kristina has lost her baby, the youth center. She will now want to keep her other baby.

I think Kristina and Blaze will be made victims of an anti-gay hate crime, after which Ava will look worse for what she did.

I happen to agree. I think the show is saying that they are both wrong. Ava is wrong for outing Blaze. Natalia is wrong for being a rude homophobic bigot. Both things can be true. Alexis & Sonny will deal with Ava. Everyone will hate Natalia. Blaze may be done with her mother. I no longer see Sonny & Natalia, getting together. Diane might glean some ammunition to use against Ava in the coming custody battle. However, I wonder if Ava will use the reduced meds, although I can't see how she could do so without implicating herself. And, on top of everything else, if you ask me, the optics are truly awful. However, Maxie gave an amazing speech. Kristina was remarkable. And, Blaze finally took up for herself.

At the end of the June thread, posters were wondering how Gio is related to the Cerullo clan.  Replying here in the July thread.

June 17, 2024
Conversation during Willow's birthday party at the Metro Court.

Carly:  You know, I, um, hear Gio say aunt, uncle, cousin. No grandpa, no mom or dad.  Whose kid is he?

Brook Lynn: That's the whole thing.  See, Gio's father died before he was born, and his mother was a violinist with the New York Philharmonic but she died when he was ten.

Carly and Josslyn: Oh. Wow so sad

Brook Lynn:  Well, fortunately for Gio, he was raised by the vast and loving Cerullo and Falconeri clans, so we all feel like he's one of us.

Ava is suffering from unintended consequences. That doesn’t mean that Natalia isn’t also facing consequences. I actually like that Ava reading the comments made her both feel for Blaze and also selfishly rush to ensure her own protection.

Also- go to any famous LGBTQIA person’s comments. It’s filled with attacks from bots, from Christian conservatives, and often from our own LGBTQ people being misguided keyboard activists. I think there would be calls for Kristina to resign.

The problem with the center is that it wasn’t established yet so any stakes there are moot.

    • I know Passions used this trope with Ethan and Sam to drag out the paternity, but GH seems to speed through certain stories while dragging others.

    • Agreed, that there was some strange choices in the episode, especially at the end, but overall, that was some great drama that opens up the potential for so much future storyline. Kat vs. Eva having the most potential, especially over Tomas. I have mixed feelings about Martin/BC though. I thought he did pretty well in scenes with Smitty/MM, but the scenes of him confronting Leslie and of him throwing the books were bad lol she acted circles around him.  It’s similar to what Harding Lemay said about George Reinholt at AW; he could be brilliant in one scene, but then mediocre in the next.
    • I know some of y'all really like Brooke Kerr, and so I've tried to give her a shot, despite her frequent flat line readings and distracted "did I leave the front door unlocked?" facial expressions. But lord, she is so bad at playing a tough-talking badass that I was actually rooting for Brad today to spill the beans to Drew.
    • Googling does tend to ruin it.  For those of us who were teens in the late 1970s and early 1980s, you can't imagine how much fun it was to watch the show in the afternoons.  (It came on right after school.)  There weren't any "spoilers" at the time.  We would always try to anticipate how each crime and each mystery would be resolved, and we were ALWAYS wrong, because the stories are filled with so many weird twists and turns.   The head writer (Henry Slesar) and his dialogue writer (Steve Lehrman) invariably toss genuine clues directly into your face in the most unlikely ways, but then they provide a host of "red herrings" to completely confuse you and send you off on the wrong path.  Once the story reaches its conclusion, all you can think is Why didn't I figure that out weeks ago?  lol
    • Does the vault have the original scene and not the short flashback?
    • I appreciate that you are using AI with the knowledge of it's limitations. Some posters take everything it produces as fact.
    • And of course Mama Ru herself appeared on All My Children.
    • The Saturday 8pm slot usually had the lowest rating of the NBC 4 sitcom lineup for some reason. NBC let Saturday night fizzle, They used 9.30 pm to launch 227 and Amen, both of which moved to earlier in the evening but they  kept Empty Nest following GG for several seasons.  Empty Nest should have moved to 8pm with their strongest new sitcom at 9.30, anticipating that GG would eventually falter. Instead they left them there and stretching the sitcom pool too thinly on other nights. When Grand talk over at 9.30 Thurs maybe Night Court and Wings could have been used on Saturday.
