I could see a few bigger name soap performers being cast along with new blood.

Debbi Morgan would be a given, and I could see Ms. Fox in a shorter term role on the soap.

I would be pleasantly surprised if VR ever gets a regular network gig again. It’s been almost 20 years since her Y&R exit and she hasn’t landed a regular network gig since. Obviously, I’d love to her see on a regular basis again, but I don’t think she’s at the top of anyone’s list right now unfortunately.

VR had a recurring role on CBS' primetime show Good Sam in 2022 and they heavily promoted her being on the show. She also had a movie released to theaters earlier this summer called Summer Camp and went on a promo tour for it. I think she's done a good job of keeping her name out there, it's just a matter of time before she lands something big that sticks.

My only concern is that I know she's doing a show for Netflix/Tyler Perry, but the way he films his shows she probably could do both.

Yeah, I would think Debbi is going to be a given with all that information I just read. And as a matriarch would be gorgeous and well-deserved. Cuz she can spin anything thrown at her into gold. There's a reason why people loved her in that short recurring side-character role on that witch show that one season. ;)

Well, if Viv wants ins and outs...well...make her character a vixen/villainess who can be written in and out of storyline as written.

Wow. Those scenes were pretty good, and Victoria Rowell is better than those crap Restless off-shoots she did a few years ago. She commanded those scenes.

I could imagine her signing a six-to-twelve month deal to launch the soap, then go into a recurring guest for holiday off-shoots, and maybe some anniversary episodes or weddings.

Ahh the feelings I have when she's talking to a dude named "Malcolm," I want her on TG badly but I also feel some type of way about her being on CBS daytime and it not being Y&R...

Victoria Rowell is still mostly known for Y&R and it goes without saying that daytime actors/actresses don't work as often as they would like. Among daytime audiences she would be a good get and will more than likely be under consideration to be called. It was last year that the clip of Dru telling off her mother circulated on Instagram and had people who had never even seen Y&R riveted so she does have some pull to draw an audience.

That aside I believe there are a lot of good casting possibilities simply because a lot of good Black actors/actresses don't work enough and a steady gig would draw them in.

IMO Rowell has the same ability Sarah Brown could if brought back at GH - like @ReddFoxx mentions for VR, clips of SJB's Carly at GH still do numbers on social media 25+ years later because of her raw power and how contemporary she was. But the comparison ends there because while I love Sarah, Victoria Rowell's cachet is at least ten times stronger and more impactful for the audience at CBS. She was a household name for the network and Y&R, both in daytime and primetime, and viewers have never forgotten her or forgiven, and clips of her (like Sarah) still draw in new people. Using her if a deal can be struck is a no-brainer IMO.

VR posted this picture on Twitter and the new look and glam team makes me feel like she has something big she's going out for....could it be The Gates?

While I do agree I also do not see either actress returning to the soaps they each began on. At all, especially Sarah Joy Brown, who has been just as vocal as Victoria Rowell about her treatment on the set, especially during her stint as Claudia. The fact she even went back for the Carly-centric episode was a surprise. Hiring both actresses could do well to bring in audiences of both ABC and CBS soap watchers.

While I did like the grey locs (if they were not locs, I apologize) on her, it did age her a bit... and this look is so soft on her, and it's a nice change up!

Sarah has had public ups and downs but still maintains friendly relationships at GH, particularly with Maurice recently. I don't think she is radioactive to that show or they'd not have had her back on-air in character. Anyway, this isn't about that and I do agree they'd both do well here.

They would do well, especially given Brown's history with Michele Val Jean at General Hospital. This is the one case where a "friend of" could come in handy. Secure some names you know will attract the audience (more so for the "older" roles) and, then cast some new, incoming talent for those younger, future-leading roles.

I suspect for the older/veteran actors based in LA or NYC, doing a grueling daytime show produced in Atlanta might not be in the cards. It will definitely be interesting to see if they do land any “big” veteran performers.

Like Bill Bell did with B&B when it started. Susan Flannery, John McCook and Jim Storm were all well-known daytime names at that time, and then he rounded out the cast with new names.

I think if they got the right names it could work, especially if the incentives were worth it.

EXACTLY! Just like that. Put the names in the forefront, and allow the new names to slowly roll towards the front over a period of time, and allow a nice mix of them to mingle together.

I wonder if Betty’s background as a singer will be utilized and if they expect her to bust a tune from time to time. They had to have given that character a singing background for a reason, I guess? If so, it’s probably best to cast a theatrically trained actress for a part like that, but then again, plenty of singers based in Atlanta as well.
