Hopefully this isn't the case, but what if it's replacing B&B? Y&R got a 4 year renewal and B&B only got a 1 year extension.

On one to blame but Bradley Bell. I still think it will be moved to 2:30 timeslot wth Y&R no longer its lead in.

I love this. And here we were speculating that MVJ was leaving B&B to join Patrick Mulcahey over on GH. Little did we know that she had far more ambitious plans.

Hopefully she’s got Michael R. Jackson on the line, as he loves soaps. Get a Pulitzer Prize winner as a co-HW.

The Talk wouldn't work as a 30 minute format. I think it's done if this gets picked up

The Talk should've been cancelled years ago. It's been a hot mess for a long time.

And in consultation with freakin' P&G!

I had to reread the article several times to understand it said what I thought it said!

The reason I think this may happen is that there's actually a quote from CBS as well, and they announced this. So, they must be serious. The questions are...will it be half-hour or an hour...and what time slot would it go in? TPIR still does really well. Y&R just got a four year renewal. I'd assume B&B is okay as well. Let's Make a Deal seems to do fairly well and must be cheap to produce. It could go in the slot where The Talk is. That show has had constant upheaval, cast changes, and it's never really caught on like The View on ABC.

I actually think a 30 minute show would be a better bet to launch and much cheaper to start up.

I admit as I play catch-up. This has crossed my mind as well.

First PM is back at GM. And we speculated over MVJ. Y&R gets its renewal for four years...which was surprising. And then MVJ left B&B...the place where great writers go to retire. And we speculated over her to GM. And now THIS...while B&B only got a one year renewal.

Things to make you go hmmm.

Potential Lineups (using CBS NY scheduling), assuming late 2024/2025 or 2025-2026 TV season.

Scenario A ("The Gates" is one-hour, "The Talk" is canceled):

  • 10:00 AM - Let's Make a Deal
  • 11:00 AM - The Price is Right
  • 12:30 PM - The Young and the Restless
  • 1:30 PM - The Bold and the Beautiful
  • 2:00 PM - The Gates

Scenario B ("The Gates" is one-hour, "The Talk" is canceled):

  • 10:00 AM - Let's Make a Deal
  • 11:00 AM - The Price is Right
  • 12:30 PM - The Young and the Restless
  • 1:30 PM - The Gates
  • 2:30 PM - The Bold and the Beautiful

Scenario C ("The Talk" stays on, "The Gates" replaces "The Bold and the Beautiful" -- not likely):

  • 10:00 AM - Let's Make a Deal
  • 11:00 AM - The Price is Right
  • 12:30 PM - The Young and the Restless
  • 1:30 PM - The Gates
  • 2:00 PM - The Talk

Scenario D ("The Talk" stays on but as half-hour, "The Gates" replaces "The Bold and the Beautiful" -- not likely):

  • 10:00 AM - Let's Make a Deal
  • 11:00 AM - The Price is Right
  • 12:30 PM - The Young and the Restless
  • 1:30 PM - The Gates
  • 2:30 PM - The Talk

Scenario E ("The Talk" stays on but as half-hour, "The Gates" is half-hour😞

  • 10:00 AM - Let's Make a Deal
  • 11:00 AM - The Price is Right
  • 12:30 PM - The Young and the Restless
  • 1:30 PM - The Bold and the Beautiful
  • 2:00 PM - The Gates
  • 2:30 PM - The Talk

Scenario F (terrible lineup, IMO -- "The Talk" stays on but as half-hour, "The Gates" is half-hour):

  • 10:00 AM - Let's Make a Deal
  • 11:00 AM - The Price is Right
  • 12:30 PM - The Young and the Restless
  • 1:30 PM - The Bold and the Beautiful
  • 2:00 PM - The Talk
  • 2:30 PM - The Gates

They all look good. But I would think they would put it between Y&R and B&B. Most people are used to Y&R as a lead in, put in new soap so people can get a taste or even put it there to make those B&B fans wait. and while they wait...oops...look! a new soap!

-- I love it that The Gates and soap operas are trending on social media. This kind of attention has to help its cause.

-- If we get The Gates, I want it 5x a week.

-- As far as scheduling, if The Gates is a 30-minute show, there's no reason The Talk can't pull back to 30 minutes.

Or even, dare I say it, cancel The Talk?!!

I think it's got a better shot at succeeding if it's on after YR than after BOLD(which can barely hold onto a good portion of YR's audience as it is)

I just hope it's not in some random time slot. I remember when I was a teen, Generations was on at 11 am where I lived, so odd lol

Did it say exactly where production is taking place - NYC or LA?

Or could it be an Atlanta based production? Atlanta’s emerged as a hub for cheaper film/television production and is often referred to as the “Black Hollywood.”
