Looked a the trailer again and noticed that Bill's daughter is against him too. The Duprees are set to be a strong united front. In the punching scene I also noticed that Anita is just standing there as Dani punches Hayley and doesn't seem to be trying to intervene.

Honestly, Hayley seems like a much more sympathetic character to me after this trailer. They might be labeling her as the "homewrecker" but it seems as if she and Bill did genuinely fall in love, and all Hayley is craving is acceptance from her new community that has automatically disregarded her because of the affair and the power the Dupree's wield in said community. IMO, I also think the Dupree's constantly berating/slut-shaming her is going to make her look a lot more sympathetic to the audience, which I have to wonder if that's intentional or not.

In a way, she is the CBS Daytime successor to Brooke Logan, lol (at least when Brooke was genuinely sympathetic, which I did think she was in the first decade or so of B&B).

I completely agree with all of this.

All this time I was siding with Dani, but after watching the second trailer, I now side with Hayley too, which is good. For now, I'm 50/50 on who will be my favorite, but I have sympathy for Hayley already. I did not expect that going in. That said, Bill (Timon Durrett) is a find. He may be playing the bad guy/villain, but I'm here for it!

Like I said: He was fine as a cheater on Queen Sugar and he's fine here! I still think he and Dani might end up back together. But I share both of your suspicions re: Hayley. I guess we'll see.

Considering Naomi Hamilton Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit) inherited Anita's gift for singing, I am sure that sways her more to the Dupree family over the Hamiltons. Makes me wonder if maybe Chelsea Hamilton (RhonniRose Mantilla) leans more to Bill than Dani (even if Dani has a presence)?

He has a commanding presence that is not going to be ignored. Kind of love it. He's definitely the villain in this story from my perspective, and I know he is going to EAT!

I am sure a fair amount of flip-flopping may happen, although, I'm also praying it'd be an organic type of thing.

It looks like the typical soap dynamic of the wife being more sympathetic and fragile while the mistress is more bold and unrepentant has somewhat been flipped. Brooke would sometimes fall into feeling sorry for herself and excusing her behavior because of "destiny" and I can see vibes of Hayley going in that direction.

With Dani pushing Chelsea's career maybe a little too hard it's probable that she will lean more towards Bill if he is the parent putting less pressure on her.

    • Out of curiosity, I just took a peek at the scene. I don't think that's a window. Rather, it's the entrance to the mausoleum.
    • You can't have the entire cast on in one episode.  LOL They were not needed for this.  We didn't need to see what their reactions would be.
    • Yup, I went to my grandparents' anniversary party back in the day.

    • They said the teens had gone out for the night. With who? They have no friends to speak of. They should've been there at the party. The excuse was lame.
    • This is how I remember it, too. I remember Evie confronting Rita about her involvement with Tim when she knew she was in love with him. Bawling her eyes out, talking about how she dreamed of marrying and having children with him. It's amazing she and Rita stayed close after that. I don't recall who he left town with. Yes, Holly definitely evolved/grew up after she and Ed split. I remember Lynn Deering as Holly. She was very different from Maureen Garrett. I remember Garrett's first episode. She is a rare example of a recast who caught on with the audience fairly quickly. They were pretty much over--Evie saw them hug goodbye when Hope was about to leave town. She misinterpreted the kiss, fell down and hit her head. That's how she became blind. Robin Mattson was playing Hope at the time. If they didn't want Elvera back in the mid-80s, it could have been interesting if they had brought Robin back to play a Hope with more backbone.
    • "Make them laugh.  Make them cry.  Make them wait."  They nailed the wait part.
    • I really CAN'T with the two dolls comment. It's so cynical. So disgusting. A billionaire telling normal working people this is just... you can't make this sh-t up. That's comics villain level of vile.
    • This episode was on fire and definitely the best the show's done so far.  And of course the two big reasons were TMG and Ambyr Michelle who were phenomenal.  This could be both their Emmy reels.  Sad thing is they will probably be in the Supporting category so only one of them will win.   Claybon was pretty good when Martin confronted his dad. I'm glad to see he's improving.  I also liked that scene with Andre with Eva, showing some compassion with his cousin.  Now that the secret is out, Eva and Leslie can start to interact with more of the cast, like at the end of today's episode with Leslie showing up at the Dupree's.  And hopefully that will help the show be not as boring - this storyline was the only one that was truly interesting, and now it gets to branch out.  Minor nitpicks: bad editing during the Eva/Leslie/Ted scene by themselves, and when Bill was rubbing Hayley's feet.  They gotta clean this up.
