I am glad Ron bounced back with a new job at BTG. Hopefully CBS is grooming him to replace Griffith at Y&R

Horrible use of words, and that's not happening.

I am listening to a podcast that said that going forward, as a result of this election, much of the programming will be directed to “flyover country” (her words, not mine) so I now have to think about how this may impact BTG.

I wonder about that myself.  As long as Sheila Duckworth remains involved, I think the show will be okay.  But, if CBS somehow pushes her out or marginalizes her...well, my joke about Michele Val Jean being locked out of the studio like Bridget Dobson just might become a reality, lol.

I’m not a big Ron fan but he’s a million times better than Griffith (who has ruined three soaps I loved).

So you want something bad to replace something bad? Why? Is there a logic behind your thinking?

I'll take Griffith over the "writer" any damn day of the week. This country has already gone backwards too much this year in the past 12 hours. Don't need to go back more, thanks.

I never said Ron was bad. I just said I wasn’t a big fan. Perhaps I should have used “superfan”

My only issue with his Days tenure is Stacy Haiduk. Other than that, he brought back a ton of my faves and restored Deidre to her rightful place as Queen of Days.

Am I the only one that gets an error and not a message?

Is there a reason everyone is so rude to you? Are you a known troll or something?

I would rather see RC on Y&R than spend several more years with JG's horrible stories.

I am not a DAYS fan, but I expected to like his work. I felt that he didn't take the show seriously (I don't know if I should blame him) and the horrible production values and the bad acting made things even worse.

Edit, never mind, she deleted her tweet

It likely occurred to her what network she now works with. Remember the infamous words of Leslie Moonves?

So the bottom line, based on these responses, is that this show is doomed to failure before it even receives five minutes worth of airtime? I will absolutely hate for all of the enthusiasm garnered to have been for naught.

I mean, the audience that CBS is targeting hasn't gone anywhere. But having politics was always going to be tricky (and has historically been), regardless of who won due to the daytime audience often being more conservative. On the other hand, CBS wouldn't have greenlighted the show with the politics angle if they were overly concerned with it.

Ultimately, they need to give this a big push on streaming in the US so that people can get on it at ground floor.

I wonder who MVJ might be grooming as her Kay Alden/Natalie Minardi Slater. Susan Dansby? MVJ is in her 70s so obviously it’s something she might be thinking about long term in regards to retirement, etc. Developing strong, visionary Black talent to rise in the ranks is crucial, and thankfully she has Dansby, Judy Tate, Jazmen, et al., on staff and not just Carlivati waiting in the wings for his next HW stint.

She'll likely have Dansby as her "next to" (hate the word "grooming"). Or even Skyy Sandifer, who was announced as a writer's assistant.

With Sonia here as a producer, I take it to mean she’s out at Days and has been for a couple of months at least, correct?

I remember a few pages back people saying they wanted real life politics involved and I always found that odd. I would never expect that due to how divisive politics are. Especially in light of what has happened here. The political element should be the same as any soap in the past: pure fantasy.
