So, one of the reasons the show is starting to tape on Friday, November 1, instead of the originally reported November 4, is due to Election Day. Since many in the cast, among other staffers, don't live in Georgia full-time they wouldn't be able to vote in their designated areas on November 5 (Election Day). To accommodate, the show is starting on Friday, November 1 and Election Day is a day off.

Just an FYI.

I'm not going to freak out over Ron in a subordinate position. He was a very solid staff writer at OLTL for many years and his episodes surrounding Asa's death (right after he took over) remain well-regarded. I am surprised to see him working under MVJ and Guza, lol. With Guza especially it seems like oil and water to me.

I am not going to begrudge this show using a ton of skilled hands as writers or directors out of the gate (so to speak). You can't teach all this shít on the fly after almost 100 years on radio and TV.

I agree with this.

Man all of this really is amazing to see. I love how Tamara Tunie is owning the room in the bts clips, she’s gonna be an awesome matriarch for the show.

Ahh, makes sense; so, I'm believing the mandate for contract players to live in Atlanta did not stick?

That was never going to be something that applied to everybody. They aren't going to lose out on names like Tamara Tunie or Cliffton Davis because of a location mandate.

I bet that was more for the daytime newbies.

Just thinking how times have changed since the last new soap launches. Then we waited for network press releases and magazine coverage eg SOD.

Seeing the cast in casual clothing makes me look forward to the contrast when they are in costume. Sorry Clifton but that fugly shirt and baggy trousers combo isn't going to cut it!

As for those familiar crew member,  MVJ has been around and probably wants to work with people she knows and feels comfortable with. Also to give some of them the chance she is getting to work in a (hopefully) more creative environment.

Being a woman of a certain age she may not have many connections with younger creatives.

Finally we get a list of the writing staff! Let's start at the top.  So Guza was able to secure an equal Co-HW billing instead of a secondary Co-HW billing.  Susan Dansby is either an Associate Head Writer or Script Editor, but usually the Script Editor is listed before/with the Script Writers.

Every Breakdown Writer has a lot of daytime experience, except for Gregori J. Martin, who is new to daytime.  From what I've heard about Ron Carlivati, he's really great to work with.  He's never worked with MVJ so she must've been impressed with his breakdown writing abilities. Chris Dunn and MVJ worked together at Santa Barbara in the early 90's, but haven't worked together since.  Teresa Zimmerman and Sara A. Bibel has never worked with MVJ.

Jazmen Darnell Brown has only 18 episode as a daytime writer (he worked at DAYS).  Cheryl L. Davis, Lynn Martin, Danielle Paige, and Judy Tate all have daytime experience.  And I don't believe any of them has worked with MVJ on a daytime soap.  Also, all the script writers are black.

There could be changes later on as some writers might not gel with the show or with MVJ in the writers room.

And lastly, no Patrick Mulcahey on staff!  Damn.  I wanted him a as script writer on this show.

NOTE: I'm only going by daytime soap opera credits.  I don't if any MVJ has worked with any of them outside of daytime.

Says who? Not as of Monday's credits.  I haven't seen Tuesday or Wednesday's episodes yet.

Few weeks back I saw his name

Did you watch on CBS or at unofficial place (if it's this, they always put it old credits).

Honestly I do not remember
