Port Charles, Loving, Passions and Santa Barbara all began their first weeks with location shoots. I hope this show continues that tradition. It would be nice to get a sense of place initially.

I hope this is an ongoing thing for them. I know when Sunset Beach Aaron Spelling said it would have location shooting throughout similar to a primetime series. I never watched that show so I am unsure if that happened. Can anybody who watched confirm?

There was constant location filming throughout the entire series

I wonder who will direct the first week of episodes. The tone setting stylistic wise is gonna be super important for the first 5 shows and they need a format that stands out but is also achievable long term.

I am going to assume directors will be locally-hired talent they can payroll. I am sure the NAACP is assisting with that, as well.

How'd that work out for them? Let's just hope there's some good classic characters. I'm intrigued about who "The Bitch" is going to be and their motivation.

Looking forward to the tone/vibe that this show gives off. Old-fashioned soap? Something refreshingly new? Or both? In any event, I must reiterate a couple of things. Beyond The Gates is going to have come out swinging quickly if not immediately. It's also going to have to move at a generous pace at best. What worked in the past in terms of daytime soaps is not going to work now. I just don't believe it will. Today's audience isn't built for it. With that being said, VIVA LA BTG.

Capitol also did a lot of on location shooting for the primetime pilot, and while in the area, lots of B-roll was taped for subsequent episodes. Scenes and establishing shots of the characters' homes in the fictional Jeffersonia, VA were taped in Potomac, MD. And of course there were scenes taped on the actual Capitol steps, as well as in Georgetown. There were lots of car scenes in Capitol with B-roll of D.C. streets used extensively.

I met Marj Dusay when I was in college and I asked her about Sloane and Trey's wedding at the Jefferson Memorial. She said, "No, we did that in the studio!" Looking at those episodes, it's clear that she was not one of the actors flown out to film on location, her scenes are clearly on a California set mocked up as the interior of the monument.

Gated communities in the central Atlantic are McMansion enough that BTG wouldn't really need to film on location to establish Fairmont Estates. But D.C. is D.C., there's no getting around that for folks with attention to detail. For example, The Blacklist did scenes set on Metro that had locals aghast at the depiction of our train stations.

OMG, I need more casting news and behind the scenes announcements ASAP. They start shooting in 5 weeks so I know there is definitely more news out there. I super excited though.

I know originally BTG was slated for a January 2025 premiere, but it seems like that may not be the case based on the title of the thread. What do we know so far?

Also, when do you think they'll start promoting. It's obvious most of us soap fans are in the know, but I don't think much of the general public has even heard rumblings that there may be a new soap coming.

Likely pushed to end of January / beginning of February, due to the upcoming election.

Omg... Imagine it starts on my birthday in February. This will be like a dream. I'm only joking of course... But still a dream.
