For reference, the current soap acronyms are "B&B" (The Bold and the Beautiful), "DAYS" (Days of our Lives"), "GH" (General Hospital") and "Y&R" (The Young and the Restless). "ALL" is for all shows, while "AMC" is for All My Children.

Also, #BeyondTheGates is the official hashtag to be used on social media, per CBS.

Facebook and Instagram pages have been created, but are not active. Will share the link when they are officially available.

I love the names so far. Really love them.

This has been such an exciting day! As I said in the other thread, TT has always been one of my favorite actors. She is the perfect actor to lead BTG. Thrilled to see KM back in a leading role. I was seriously bummed the way B&B boxed her in. There is no doubt I'll be streaming BTG daily now.

I'm certain we'll see a few other familiar CBS daytime actors pop up on BTG. It makes sense at the beginning.

I imagine the show will launch Jan 27. Here's why: CBS is broadcasting the AFC Championship Game on Jan 26 in primetime. The primetime Championship game is usually the 2nd highest rated TV show of the year (55MM+). Just like the SB, the next day, the network that aired the game gets a ratings bump. Plus CBS can drop a promo or two because plenty of women watch the NFL. I'm excited. I just hope the show doesn't get continually pre-empted for soccer.

Yes. Per what edgeofnik and I said on this thread five months ago

@Errol per what we said in that old post, and also edgeofnik's new post above,
what about soccer preemptions, football promos, etc.  Have they thought about that at all,
or is it more depending on what happens with the election etc?

Again, having a theatrically trained and veteran actress like TT is such a huge boon to this new show. She’s at the top of the cast list and sets the tone.

I wonder if VR or DM for that matter were ever really in any consideration, but I think they made the right decision here. TT can sing and has a working class upbringing that really gels with the character description for Betty/Anita. To me, this is perfect casting.

There is also something to Tunie being known, talented, but not a daytime  mega superstar like DM and VR. They walk in the door with Angie and Dru written all over them when it comes to a daytime audience. I’m not saying they are not all talented and Tunie wasn’t popular. She’s very beloved and well known in daytime and primetime. I know any of them are capable of playing something different. I am thinking more about the perception of their past characters being with them- Angie was part of a supercouple, and Dru was like a centrifugal point on Y&R- as anchoring to me as a viewer as Jill, Nikki, Ashley, etc.

MVJ was a special writer on GH, mentored there and allowed to put her stamp down under Labine and Guza, supported by Riche. That must have been a nurturing place for BTS talent during the 90’s, before things started to get toxic from ABC and power struggles over creative.

Rosalind like Rosalind Cash.

I thought of that too.

Late to the party but I had just seen the news about Tunie joining the cast I’m completely stoked! Same with seeing Karla Mosley being added to the show! ❤️

I also like adding the word “Beyond” to the title. I was fine with just “The Gates” but “Beyond The Gates” just gives a nice old time soapy throwback to the daytime soap titles of the 60’s and 70’s. Like Beyond the Gates sounds like a daytime show name while The Gates is sounds more primetime (and of course was once used for a primetime show several years back).

So to follow up on that abbreviation post I made like 2 days ago here, I like BTG 😃

I thought the same. Really touching if that is her intention.

I thought Rosalind Carter. But maybe she spells it Rosalynn.

Hmm, MVJ's IG post has TT labeled as "Rosalind" and DD labeled as "Crystal" - I wonder if those character names changed again, lol. "Dani" for KM is at least consistent with today's reports.

The character names released today are the official names of the characters. No way a big release like that would be revised within hours from a post on Instagram.

I believe Michele posted an older screenshot she took off of her computer screen with the headshots of the three actresses shared as part of a family tree. I believe the character names she has under them are the names of the characters at the point they auditioned or were submitted for.

No information at this time as the premiere date is no longer penciled in for January. As I previously stated, it is now just "early 2025." That could still end up being in January, or it can be anytime through even April. We'll know more about scheduling once we know an official premiere date.

That makes sense.  I think the headshot of Tamara Tunie in purple may have come from photos of her appearance at the Tony Awards in June, as seen in pics on her IG and Getty  (Link)

^ Rosalind?  I thought Ms. Tunie's character is Anita?

First Betty, then Anita, and now Rosalind? What is this?
