I tried watching the special live on Paramount+ at 2pm on our local affiliate and it kept glitching,so it never came on. At 2:30pm B&B unfortunately aired. I was finally able to watch it on Paramount+ and it was more than I could have ever imagined. I am already so proud of this show.

"ozarksfirst.com" which is
KOLR in Springfield, Missouri (CBS)
combined with KRBK Osage Beach, Missouri (FOX)
did a feature on BTG today.
It starts with one of the longer BTG promos we've already seen.
Then the local talk/news hosts discuss it.

You have to hand it to Generations. For a little soap that ran for less than two years in a bad time slot, it certainly left its mark. Not only was it MVJ's first soap writing job, Sheila Ducksworth specifically mentions Generations as the impetus for developing BTG.

Not exactly sure how a showrunner hiring popular soap actors she's worked with before is being implied as underhanded or trashy or bad for the show, but I guess that's what happens when your fanfic get thrown in the trash without being opened at the production offices.

I came in here only to talk about today's show and be overjoyed about this experience, but I'm of course thrilled to instead have to wade through another 3-4 pages of people quoting this troll because even when they were reposting clickbait outrage merchant videos of people who have no connection to this forum that are full of sexism and homophobia, they can never be at least cautioned or disciplined. Disciplining the board, after all, isn't the moderators' job. It's only ours.

But whatever. I'll be back when I've watched it and gotten this foul taste out of my mouth ruining what should be a celebratory day.

    • The only blonde I see is one of the actual women staring at first & then screaming & running later.  DAYS: Vivian's manservant Ivan is in a long curly red wig.

Y&R: long straight black wig is the actor Peter Barton whose character name I am blanking on.
    • I very much liked office Cleary and the actress who portrayed her (as you say, Mary Peterson).  A shame her turn didn't evolve into a contract role.   BTW, does anyone know the timeframe/years that Betty Rae served as casting director?  If i understand correctly, she not only led the effort for contract roles, but also for shorter 13- and 26-week roles.  IMO, GL had LOTS of very well-casted, limited roles, too. I'm surprised the actors throughout the soap industry, and especially P&G actors, have not assembled a book or something similar, praising Rae.  Each actor could write a few paragraphs or a page of text describing his or her experience.
    • No. Ruth had an extramarital affair with David while married to Joe.
    • I'm not sure I agree with Bernstein's children on that. Bernstein's life and activism here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Bernstein#Social_activism_and_humanitarian_efforts
    • Thursday & Friday's episodes were excellent. The build-up was most definitely worth the wait (2 months). TMG, I can't give her enough accolades. AM, was also absolutely incredible. I think the fallout is going to have a ripple effect. The little clues that have been dropped,  hopefully, will weave seamlessly to reveal even bigger bombshells for the Dupree's and Martin.
    • Thanks, msn drives me nuts on the one hand but on the other hand their headlines appeal to me. And, I just don't do FoxNews.
    • The link doesn't work.  The actual link is this: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/composer-leonard-bernstein-s-children-request-his-music-be-played-in-the-kennedy-center-in-rebuke-to-trump/ar-AA1E7gw5 That's a reprint of a FoxNews article. MSN reprints stuff from many sources. You can tell the source from the logo above the headline on the msn page. The FoxNews article is describing what Leonard Bernstein's children wrote -- as a "letter to the editor" of the New York Times. Instead of reading it filtered through FoxNews, here is the original: "Our Dad, Leonard Bernstein, Would Want His Music Played at the Kennedy Center" https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/02/opinion/kennedy-center-leonard-bernstein-protest.html Non-paywall archived copy of the same NYTimes letter, without commentary: https://archive.is/QaLqD
    • Might be a long shot, because I can't find a thing online about it, but I was Googling the actress that played Nell Cleary (Frank's cop friend that went through academy and then became cops together during the entire Brent Lawrence storyline). To my surprise, she passed away in 2011, at the very young age of 45. I can't find her obituary or anything online about her passing, but I'm curious, does anyone know what happened? Her IMDB only shows a few other acting gigs post-Guiding Light, so she didn't make a career out of it, but I thought she was a great actress in her role as Cleary. Her name was Mary Peterson.
    • What was Ruth Martin's association to the Thornton family?  I only remember the daughter that dated Tad, and she had a buxom mother.  But, did Ruth date David Thorton before Joe?

Why didn't Steve respect Monica and Jeff's decision?  I get he's Jeff's father, and that's how it came out, but I don't like the ethics of the story. A stranger gets to make life or death decisions over a wife's demands?   I hope Monica secretly never forgave Steve's chauvinism.
