And instead of Brooke having her GILF era breakdown and sleeping with the hot waiter... we got Bridge for the 123940 time. Why. WHY IS THE SHOW SO STALE. Also Sheila and Lauren not having a scene is just ABSURD and very bad storytelling. If you let your actors decide which actors they want and not... this will lead to BAD and BORING show. THEY NEED TO REVIVE THE SHEILA AND LAUREN FEUD. This is like going back to Titanic... This is where the show worked decades ago. The show should be called missed chances. While I am watching I am seeing potential every day and NOTHING happens at the end, just the same old TRASH that Bradley has been vomiting since 1994.

Also I am not naming names but there has been some BRUTAL bad acting the past month. EW.

Brooke needs to snack on that.

She’s eluded in an interview that doing the Sheila story kind of weakens Lauren’s character and I think she prefers Lauren be the strong woman with an edge that isn’t some damsel in distress whenever Sheila is around….I guess Bill Bell or nobody ever told her Sheila was meant as a punishment for Lauren’s bitchiness towards Traci all those years prior.

I think Scott was saying we're supposed to see Liam as a villain. He sure would do that story wonders cause given Neither Hope or Steffy want Little Puke anymore and chose guys he hates over him, it would actually make sense for him to go to the "Dark side" start acting like a Spencer finally

Yeah, that's fair. Those last two rounds were awful. It was smart when B&B rehabilitated Sheila a little bit in the 90s. Being married to Eric, she had something to lose and she had to behave for a while and struggle not to relapse. Her and Lauren's interactions then were good and not so cartoonish. That's why I wanted them to lean into Sheila becoming Bill's lover and cleared of the charges, so she could be more into high society again and run into Lauren at crossover events but having to refrain from doing anything crazy.

The Countess role was made for Joan Collins. It's too bad BB couldn't get her. Marie is doing ok.

I don't understand why Esther is there. Her scenes are cringe worthy. Just makes zero sense Lauren would be her guest to it.

Can the fashion show ballroom be any smaller? It looked so cramped.

Another failure of a fashion show. It just looked so cheap.

There was no runway this time. The models just walk out and show the dresses.

Then they come up with some garbage with we aren't telling you who the designer is.....they took the fun out of it. If its Ridge vs Eric....show them separately and tell us who is whose.

THAT WAS MY EXACT WISH. And I was sure it was going in that direction and THEN back to the same old.

It could have been amazing. I could see Sheila OWNING Spencer Publications and starting a campaign against The Forresters.

The Lauren could come and try to take her down for one last EPIC time. They could even have some EPIC fight that could be like the last fight.

But I doubt we will see anything other than Sheila in the corner and Sheila listening through the bushes and Sheila in and out of jail.

Because that is easy to do.

Sheila was BEST when she had something to lose and fight for.

    • To bring over from the May Sweeps Thread from @Chris B   I know the fashions have gotten mixed reviews but I actually like what the new costume designer is putting the cast in. It feels more modern and the more tacky pieces I feel make sense for rich people. They're buying for the brand and the price and we often see celebs in things like this. Especially for a character like Nikki, I feel the more over the top (and tacky), the more realistic it is.   I agree. While it has been hit and miss no question, I have found it fascinating to watch what the costume designer is attempting to do with the various characters and their clothes. Some have been overdue. Some have been fascinating. But (outside of Billy) not boring to watch. I definitely find it more modern as well.   My growing issue has been it's not good that the best reason to watch Y&R as of late has been to see what people are wearing rather than the writing. It feels like a red flag.
    • Haha. The fact that I stopped regularly viewing at the same time and know what you are talking about is chef's kiss.    I'm slowly bingewatching Nurse's Ball Week. But it's slow for me because a lot of the same tics and writing flaws for me that made me throw up my hands is still evident *cough*CVE*cough* Thankfully, there are some things I like also and from a glance in the GH May Thread, it seem like it had a good Sweeps with good fallout. And do I even need to mention Nina finally slapping the taste out of Carly's mouth? See? Regardless of her flaws, I do enjoy Korte-headed episodes over CVE-headed episodes because they always seem to have more emotional resonance to long-time fans.
    • And that charity does still get mentioned from time to time. I want to say the last time was some time this year, too.
    • Oh, no. Vernon has definitely had his moments.   Choose silence anyone?
    • Search YT for Edwyn Sanchez, he posted an AI enhanced episode of ATWT and it is beautiful.
    • That's so funny, that's how I listen to Montecito - while walking my dog. I'll have to check out Forever & a Day.
    • I need to listen! Forever & a Day was a fun soapy podcast to have available when I walked the dog.
    • A few years ago, Devon and Nick started a charity organization together, I think it's for housing in the community.
    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
