I wondered if Sheila had saved Steffy from death yet, or her mother again, or Finn....or someone, anyone.  Then I read the recaps.  Yep, there it is.  Because.....ya gotta dumb down everything for Sheila.

It's a shame Finn wasn't a more attentive parent.  Because he's only a doctor, he doesn't understand needing to put the phone away and tend to your children.  This is all very plausible.  That....you'd take your kid to the beach and pay little attention to them, especially with your deranged mother on the loose who has a long history of stealing things or people, stalking, murder accusations....definitely shot some people....and, need I say more?

I said months ago - it's only a matter of time until Finn can't "protect Steffi and the family" from his mother.  Then, Steffy and Finn will be done, kaput, etc.....and hopefully Sheila will really kill him off this time.  He's nice to look at, but a total throwaway character like Ivy, Flo, Shauna, et al.

Yeah Finn has been a character who has been front burner for 3 years now and is popular unlike the duds that were Ivy, Flo, and Shauna.

Well I do have to appreciate Finn’s honesty and upfrontness about the beach incident whereas Liam & Steffy have been going behind everyone’s back and in Liam’s case underhanded tactics. Makes the Lame one even look worse.

Maybe I can hold out for Sheila killing Liam?

Yep, so much so that when he "died" last year, there was as SAVE FINN movement going on on various social media sites, even BOLD Producer Casey was shocked by the backlash to Finn dying. SOD even commented their mail bag was full of "Save Finn" letters too

Shauna & Flo leave & no one bats an eye, and Ivy too

Plus SINN is the show's most popular couple, so yeah lol

It's funny that people think Finn is above what they're going to do to him.  They'll toss him to the Sheila wolves just like every other character.  The show at this point HAS to be about Sheila.  They're stuck.  So you will be getting more of stupidity.  Finn will be reduced to a screetching school girl.  Because why?  Sheila.

A lot of the manufactured and accelerated tension with SINN is directly tied to JMW's *annual* leave.

The other 3 existing shows currently include at least 2 characters each that have committed similar crimes, including murder. Yet, those characters have been incorporated into the fabric of the show. Most of those characters did spend time in jail as part of the road back.

If Thomas can 'put in the work' to be a cleansed man through two weeks of intensive therapy, give Sheila six weeks. Instead of burning through tons of story, have Sheila view this chance with Finn + Deacon as incentive to fight her demons. Have Finn meet his 5 siblings, etc. create that conflict with Steffy, but have them work through it as a couple - anything to avoid Steam!

Spiking Brooke's drink - like Quinn before her - shouldn't have gotten us to the alley.

Is he though?  What part of his character tells us that he would never turn his back on a kid at the beach?   It's almost like Finn fans can't accept that he is capable of doing something really stupid.  You want him to be perfect?  That's boring.   I've been enjoying these last couple of episodes because this is the most interesting Finn/Steffy have been.  I really like this conflict.  This is the type of family drama that's fun to watch, IMO.

    • I think the shocker would be if he's NOT playing Dumas. That's where Josh Griffith plays most of his stories. Now they have Cole "self-isolating" because they don't want to put up that hospital set. Will Cole cough himself to death at the GCAC? What a "storyline." I can't believe how much JG is playing with us regarding Nick and Sharon. The teasing has become pathetic, especially for Shick fans who want them back together. My guess is that he'll reveal his real name once he is exposed.
    • Maybe we'll meet Leslie's mama who'll be a former Articulette and they'll build the rival family from there that a lot of people seem to think is missing. It'd make sense considering Anita's been hammering on about going on tour and reviving her music career.
    • hahaha at the Brennan shade.   But even I saw this and have to agree. What's really sad is that some of the person on that list could easily have a love interest that is on the canvas. They just need to be written for.
    • The thought has crossed my mind. Tricia Mann-Grant did say in her EW interview w/ MVJ and DD, that Leslie wants to be a Dupree just as bad as she wants Eva to be. I believe now that's the direction they are going in, that maybe she is just obsessed with the family. I could be wrong though.
    • True. But I have always had mixed feelings about that twist. Since I love the Damian storyline which already had twists and turns. Also I could not wait for a new powerful AND BLACK businessman to mix it up at some point with Victor. It just seem like another twist that was added on for twist sake. And also for a character (whether I love him or not) to hijack a new and refreshing storyline so they can be propped.    Once good thing that I can say about JG is that he loves to keep the Abbotts in rotation. So I could see that happening with Diane. I don't think she has mentioned her backstory, either. I would be intrigued.
    • That's how I feel. Beats could have been played for the past couple months wherein Dante and Gio interacted and had a difference of opinion -- or something. I don't know. I do know that this crushing rant that blames everything on Gio is absurd. -- Reading over all the comments here about characters and couples, it's kind of amazing that we have any show left considering the number of times actors and writers and execs were given influence to make major character and story decisions. Too many cooks in the kitchen.
    • Lol. But Jeffrey was weak to mama. Leslie can go dead because anger is a great motivator via Martin defending HIS mama and just not taking ish altogether. This ain't how it should be. They need not run the show like this. It's too noticeable. The way Eva said mama reminded me of Penny from Good Times. Instead of physical abuse it's mental abuse.
    • Oh, I see! You posted this on the general retro soap thread because of the voiceover.
    • Yeah, I agree. It's part of the reason I have shade picked on Martin's Secret being so on the backburner that it was about to fall off of it. With Dani/Bill/Hayley being the main tale to start us off and backburned and the SilkPress storyline being well paced, but not set to explode until May, Martin's Secret was the other main storyline that could have been developed. And after giving it a nice slow burn to start off, the story upped and vanished in Month 2. That left the show having to rely on mostly B/C stories to stay afloat to various degrees of success.
