This timeline of them reaching out to renew talks certainly sits in line with concerns about quarterly returns, considering we are getting really close to 100 days.  It will be interesting to see what they are willing to move on. Especially with the actors also out and the public more often than not really hammering folks like Eisner for being out of touch.

I think UPS getting a historic contract for themselves and the sheer amount of Starbucks locations unionizing is wonderful movement for workers across this country over corporate earnings and CEO over paying.

And as history shows, we can always count on Stephen Amell to voice his opinions and receive backlash for them. From what else I have read he also broke the rules by discussing his acting work at his most recent appearance. I feel almost certain after all these years his favorite book (if he has one) is written by Ayn Rand.

That's the current WGAW list (WGA-West) of writers who have gone fi-core.
Per their rules, once you are fi-core, "Fi-core is forever."

________

According to these 2008 articles, the WGA-East fi-core members were outed in a letter, but they said at the time that the East members were not listed on the website.

I don't know if there are additional *East* members that were added before/after the 2007-2008 writers strike?
____
WGA-East fi-core in the 2008 article:
The WGAE members included Priscilla Kay Alden, James Harmon Brown, Michael Conforti, Victor Gialanella, Josh Griffith, Frances Myers and Pete T. Rich.

Edit- see correction in my next post.

yeah so many people are quoting
either the 2008 letter listing both WGAE and WGAW,
or the 2023 website list of WGAW only.

But I don't think we know if anyone else in East was ficore *before* the 2007-2008 strike.
and I don't think we know if anyone else in East became ficore *after* the 2007-2008 strike.

_______________

Edit update a few days later:
WGA-East website now has a list on its website, which I had missed.

The WGA-E webiste includes the names already known from the 2008 article:
Priscilla Kay Alden, James Harmon Brown, Michael Conforti, Victor Gialanella, Josh Griffith, Frances Myers and Pete T. Rich.

Plus, they have added to the list since that 2008 article
these additional names as fi-core:

Jon Robin Baitz
Mitchell Kriegman
Daran Little
Tyler Perry
Josh Selig
Garry Trudeau

JFP and the Scabs did a terrible job on GH during the last strike. The completely out of left field Diego back and revealed as the text message killer. Guza’s real killer, Logan, was offed by Lulu not long after the strike was over. Not that it was a good story to begin with. JFP- always killing the wrong people.

Oh, great line! Did she ever. Just discussing today that she did not even have the intestinal fortitude to tell Ellen Parker in person that they were killing Mo. Both were at the studio that morning. Jill called Ellen at home that afternoon & told her on the phone. (Ellen Parker, Locher Room chat)

Errol with the cliffhanger! LOL. So it's not DAYS.....definitely not B&B.  That leaves GH and Y&R.   Did Josh Griffith have another breakdown?

    • I want to encourage everyone to go vote in the Sudsies! https://x.com/SudsMedia/status/1928963890752168176 Suds and Squared Circle Media @SudsMedia Sudsy Voting is now open! Go to http://suds-media.com/sudsyvoting to vote for the entire month of June! Off the top of my head one interesting example of creative nominating is that the entire cast of BTG is up for Best Soap Debut! (I hope I'm getting that category name correctly! I was confident but then, oy.) And, any Kraze fans they're up for Best Soap Couple!
    • To each their own. The fashions on Y&R are questionable at best.
    • I'm so happy that the four MSW tv movies are now on Tubi.. and I also think I saw the 12 seasons of the show on there as well.
    • Well he was cute. And we should be thankful the show has day players. It was a way of getting Dani to reveal her relationship to Andre, although not really necessary-unless he pops up again.   Harsh! I like Jacob a lot. But I think they need more depth, not just being the nice married couple with a social justice streak. As for Vern and Nita, I do find them a little overbearing at times with their posturing and entitled attitude.  And Uptown. This is where the lack of workplace sets is a problem. If more characters worked at the police staion, or Bill's office/Vanessa's etc  there would be more natural places for people to cross paths and  interact.
    • Yes Daphne left in the May 26 episode
    • Haha, I get it. I was too old when Halloweentown was popular with the kids, but I did go back and watch the first two about 6-7 years ago and actually thought Marnie was a likable lead and she was pretty good, for a movie like that. But now watching GL and seeing her as a young child, I totally get what you're saying. She's annoying haha.
    • I feel bad for judging a child, but, to be fair, she's over 40 now. My daughter was into Halloweentown when it reran on the Disney Channel in the 2010s. I wasn't impressed then, either.
    • Isn't that funny how certain memories as young children stick with you through life... Haha I totally get what you mean. That's how I felt with GL in the beginning, but then I got used to it. Seeing so many of my favorite AMC characters on GL was wild - Walker, Irizarry, Dusay, Budig, Aleksander, Gil Rogers, etc.  Ironically, it helps that Irizarry and Dusay played both mother/son in both shows. I know Marcy Walker was wasted on GL as Tangie, but selfishly I'm so glad she was. When she left GL and returned immediately to AMC as Liza Colby, man was it such a great storyline. The Tad/Dixie/Liza triangle was so emotional, tense and memorable. The AMC fans got lucky with that one. WRCW, Tad/Liza working together, the affair, then Jason Sheffield and the shooting on-set... all amazing stuff.   LOL!
    • I remember thinking that he was fantastic after Reva's 1990 "death," with his grief and attempted relationship with Harley. I also remember the cute Marah, not the toothy chick from Halloweentown.
