ARTICLE: Sony Pictures Television and Propstore Announce Online-Only Auction in Celebration of ‘The Young and the Restless’ 50th Anniversary

In association with Propstore Ltd., you can now own a piece of history courtesy of Sony Pictures Television with the launch of “The Young and the Restless 50th Anniversary Online Auction,” an online-only auction with over 65 lots of memorabilia from “The Young and the Restless” up for grabs. Items include cast-signed scripts, photos, props, costumes and an opportunity to bid on a VIP Set Visit Experience for Two. Bidding officially opened on Friday, March 24 and will close promptly at 9:00 a.m. PDT on Friday, April 14, 2023.

According to organizers, the show’s cast and crew assembled the auction to give back to the fans and charity. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Alzheimer’s Association, a voluntary health organization dedicated to Alzheimer’s care, support and research in honor of the soap’s co-creator, the late William J. Bell (1927-2005). The auction is intended to suit fans with various budgets and is now open for registration and bidding via the Propstore website or by clicking here (https://propstoreauction.com/auctions/info/id/370). Auction highlights include the following:

  • A rare experience for the ultimate fan to win a VIP Set Experience for Two, plus meet the soap’s stars while attending a taping in Los Angeles (date TBD at the discretion of show producers);
  • Costumes worn by various cast members accompanied by signed items (i.e., a dress worn by Melody Thomas Scott, who plays Nikki Newman in the series, appearing on a television magazine cover with signed television magazine;
  • Autographed items such as a framed and signed cast photo from the 1990s featuring 25 signatures (i.e., Peter BergmanEric Braeden and the late Jeanne Cooper, among others);
  • A photocopied script from the series’ first episode aired in 1973, and the 11,000th episode script, which multiple cast members signed;
  • Signed props used on the set, such as a bare perfume bottle accompanied by a Brash & Sassy bag signed by Amelia Heinle, who plays Victoria Newman on the show;
  • Rock ‘N Roll with a Danny Romalotti record sleeve signed by portrayer Michael Damian, known for the 1989 hit song “Rock On.”

Debuting March 23, 1973 on CBS, “The Young and the Restless” has been the number one daytime drama series for 35 consecutive years. The series revolves around the rivalries, romances, hopes and fears of residents from the fictional Midwestern metropolis Genoa City, headlined by the Newman, Abbott, Baldwin and Winters families. A pioneer in television for 50 seasons, the series features strong characters, socially conscious storylines, romance and sensuality.
