I'm sure if Eileen signed a long-term contract, they'd drop Stacy like a hot potato.

(with an occasional pop-up, like the two Becky's on Roseanne, cuz campy wink-wink nudges to the audience is what Ron loves)

My second soap pet peeve happened in today's episode.

Hope is a cop, trained in interrogation.  But, when she asks Harris what's wrong and he pauses long enough to have a flashback of an entire scene, which is the most obvious tell in the world, she accepts his lie without question.  So, not only is she too stupid to insist that Harris (who was brainwashed until last week) stick by her side, (you only need to watch one episode of Law & Order to know that a cop always needs backup) but now she can't see through his lies - Hope should not be written as an imbecile.

Only on soaps do they rely on these juvenile tricks to demonstrate to the audience that someone is lying, yet nobody in the scene notices.  The classic is when two characters embrace, and the camera lingers on one of them with a cynically raised eyebrow.  It is so dumb.

I do feel like Harris will do the right thing.  The problem with flashbacks on soaps is that I am never sure if the person is pausing for the actual time the flashback takes or if they are thinking about it while the person is talking to them.  Unless you show a little bubbles and cloud above Steve Burton while Hope's talking I tend to think both things are happening concurrently even if we see them separately. lol.  JER literally had characters flashback to entire 3 min scenes back in the day and I doubt when Marlena asked Kristen a question Marlena was just left waiting for Kristen to answer for that long.

As far as Hope the cop.  She's pretty much always been incompetent so I expect nothing less.

Yeah, I don't think it's supposed to literally be that someone is standing there for a minute or more completely silent while they recall a previous moment in perfect linear fashion. I can think, "Oh, I got in a fight with my friend yesterday" and sort of... remember the whole thing without having to go step-by-step through it mentally.

Also, where's the logic in Harris's lie?

Bo said that he doesn't want to reunite with Hope, so if Harris was insecure about their bond, wouldn't it be in his best interest for Bo to reject Hope so that she'll come running back to him?

I'm certain none of this will matter after tomorrow's episode.  But if we're getting a character's return, I'd like to be able to appreciate all of the things that made me a fan of them in the first place.

Today was an improvement over the last time we saw the biscuits storyline. It seems the script and the breakdown were in the hands of an actual writer.

I got a little tired of Chanel though.  All the ranting and raving has always seemed out or character for her and today was no different. Maybe if she had been keeping all the anger inside her all this time and finally let it all after the whole biscuit thing, I’d have more sympathy for her.

For me, the best part was the Li/Gabi scenes. It was a nice closure for Li and for his relationship with Gabi. And I’m glad they wrote Gabi as (somewhat) self aware of what a selfish POS she is. Little things like that are what make her rootable and likable.

And I am glad that there are actually going to be some effects for both character and storyline as a result of this whole biscuits thing.

I thought today's episode was okay.  I liked Li/Gabi like @AbcNbc247 mentioned.

I am trying to figure out the logic of Nicole lying to EJ.  Sloan knows.  I doubt she's going to keep Nicole's secret and it's not like EJ/Nicole are married or that super serious plus she was actually drugged.  He might be mad for awhile, but this is all going to blow up in Nicole's face.  I do actually wonder if she might end up pregnant, but Idk, Nicole is past her child bearing years on top of her fertility issues.

I like Stefan/Trask together.  They are a funny duo.  I enjoy their scenes and banter.

Why does Chanel not have her cameras on at all times?  That's the whole point of security cameras.  It's not even logical to turn them on and off.

I’m just trying to get people to tune in again

Maybe Nicole lying will be the thing that’ll force EJ to take a darker turn. Or maybe he’ll start pursuing Sloan in order to get back at everyone.

There’s a rumor going around that

Today we saw a lot more of Nicole than we’ve ever seen before

Her and Eric’s dual fantasies were hot.

I’m Team Ericole, but I did like Eric/Sloan finally making it official. I hope they play the long game with all of them and EJ. It’ll only make Eric and Nicole’s reunion so much better.

Wendy seemed a little stupid today, but I’m still liking that storyline. I could definitely see how anyone could fall for Tripp  I’ll never understand why Soap Twitter doesn’t like him. I still hope they continue to weave Chanel into this storyline though, and whatever Talia’s plotting as well.

And Idk why, but I enjoy Johnny/Li scenes

Tripp had a pretty rough entrance and first few years.  I think most people still remember that.  He was awful to Kayla and he had that romance with Claire that I don't think was well received.  Plus, he planted evidence on Ben when he was dating Ciara because he was jealous and you know how much twitter loves their Cin.  Tripp has had a good character turn around, but he was definitely not great his first run.

    • I'm anticipating most of the cast at the Nice location for a few weeks a la the Tuscan villa for Victoria and Ashland's wedding. I don't know why they bother. I'd rather see the money going into more regular home/office sets. This party has been a bust. No secrets revealed, break ups  etc. Ugly decorations and I'm going to slam the costuming again. Just the guests heaping praise on  Nikki  like she's achieved some magnificent milestone rather than just getting a year older.

In the loving arms of his wife, Dr. Marlena Evans, John took his last breath at the end of the June 2 episode, after suffering devastating internal injuries during a lab explosion. The iconic character went out as he lived — a hero. Sensing the fans’ devastation on Monday, Marlena’s portrayer Deidre Hall posted this simple-but-powerful message to fans on Instagram: “I know. I know. Hardest day ever.”

    • Now coming into June...well...   I knew it was coming but I didn't like the start to the next round of Dani/Bill/Hayley. As the 3 A plots from the start of the show (The SilkPress storyline and Martin's Secret being the other two), it needed to be benched for a while to develop those characters and allow other characters and storylines to grow. 3 months in, Hayley is the weak link, Dani is still divisive, but not boring, and Bill has been making his mark with some plots faster than others. So last week seeing the story starting to loop back around to them with Hayley's potential pregnancy, I honestly had mixed feelings.   I get it. The SilkPress storyline is currently in aftermath/next turn mode, so it has to be moved into a C plot position. Moreso if we want to keep the very talented Miss Trish around. And I love how clever the writers are being with the storyline. They give us enough in the episodes and are still playing out beats to keep the appetite fed. I don't feel like anyone is being dumbed down to keep her around. And Trish is giving nuances in her alone scenes with NuTed. I shouldn't care for a clear psycho, but she be selling it. That said...I wish they had given us a little more of the Martin's Secret storyline in the last week of the month though I loved the game of cat and mouse Bill did on Martin and Smitty to keep the storyline alive and active after it had a nice build beginning of May and vanished for a week mid-May. And it appears like it's about to go back to the backburner as an A plot which of course leaves the A plot of Dani/Bill/Hayley.   I am probably in the minority as someone who is not anti-Dani here and even she annoyed the heck out of me last week. In character true, but I just felt like there was a way to get all of that across without it feeling like...as I've said before...one step forward, two steps back...and have it feel organic. I liked Hayley got a little bit of edge with her, but she still ain't no match for Dani. And it reminds to be seen if we should be going back to that well of a story yet.   Now about today's show...   And I thought Tracy was bad! lol. But YES. Sharon has been worth the wait. And so has Anita's story! Finally having TT in the limelight. This has been a nice slow burn for me and a nice B plot. And the actress is good. The wig is giving. And her holding what Anita's secret is over her head and threatening to tell Vernon....Ooooo...that is what I was waiting for.    And speaking of bad...I thought Eva vs Kat was a great rivalry. But I am loving the rivalry that is growing with 'Nancy Drew' and Silk Press Sheila! They both get good licks in and are so cunning with each other. And I definitely have liked that since the anniversary party, that it has been growing. Now that Kat has been proven right, she has not backed down. And neither has SilkPress. And we got a 'Ms. B@tch' moment, too? LOVE. Eva coming up with a trump card was delicious and so 90s Sami Brady. GOOD. And the coda with Jacob and the expert...YES. The Silk Press storyline has been the best paced on the show so I love that the aftermath of the anniversary party continues to be so...barring one flaw...well for me. Not enough Nicole's POV.   And I like the C plots on display. And by that, I mean Chelsea with Vernon. And it made me wonder what the writers have plan for her love life now that the throuple is over with. I was watching her and going awww.   And of course the mystery man around Martin. I am starting to wonder if he really even works at the country club given how he made a run for it. That would be a twist.    Speaking of Martin...good to see him in scenes with his father and mother.    I'm getting used to NuTed.    I felt the last episode of May was a bit of a letdown, but this was a very nice recovery.
    • Unless they cut him, I'd think he would stay. Surely, he didn't choose to return because he expected high quality. I figure he gets to work when he wants and spend a lot of time doing his own thing and being with his family.
    • The writing for Liz and Lucky is indeed terrible, but if JJ signed a one-year contract he may be gone in a couple of months anyway. Perhaps they’re just cutting their losses.
    • That would be his older sister Stacey. She was the center of a big story back in the day. Nola was out to snag medical student Kelly Nelson, who she thought would provide her with the life she craved. He was in love with a girl named Morgan. Nola plotted to get pregnant by him, but couldn't manage to get him in bed. So she seduced Floyd, who thought she was in love with him. When she knew she was pregnant, she got Kelly drunk and made sure he woke up next to her in bed. Kelly believed her when she told him he made her pregnant. They were about to elope to Las Vegas, but her mother ratted her out and Kelly abandoned her. She almost married Floyd, but jilted him at the altar. She went to work for Quint. When the baby came prematurely, Kelly saved both of them. She named the baby Kelly Louise to irk Morgan, who was now married to Kelly. When she fell in love with Quint, she had a change of heart over all the trouble she had caused, so she changed the baby's name to Anastasia Louise, shortened to Stacey. Quint was a devoted stepfather and Henry treated her like his own granddaughter.  After Quint and Nola leave SF, I believe Stacey is never seen again. Which is odd, you would think they would have brought her back with Nola and J, but they never did.
