However, the Ava/Spencer scene where she was given all of the exposition to explain Ryan and Esme's relationship and how that motivated the plot to terrorize Ava was really well done.  Of course, it is slightly unrealistic that after going through her own trauma, and looking for Austin to hide her own crimes, that Ava would take the time to sensitively tie everything up for Spencer.  But, as a viewer I found it helpful to understand the plot.

This was such a good scene - and afterwards when it finally sunk in for Spencer just how far he had overreached with his father, I couldn’t but feel so bad for him.

Another thing just occurred to me - Ava’s hitting Nikolas on the head, and she and Austin moving the body - did that all happen on the same Port Charles evening as Ryan, Heather and Esme breaking out of Spring Ridge?

@xtr-excellent point, well made, thanks for clarifying

Does Spencer still live with Victor at the hotel? I don't recall seeing where he's been living since that one scene when he got out of jail.

On another note, isn't ironic how history repeats itself? (sort of, I mean I don't think Esme's not faking it, but...)

He's no longer lives with Victor and is now living with Sonny. Sonny took him home to live with him after he told Spencer and Cam that Britt had died. He's been living with him since then.

Also, it is interesting how history does repeat itself especially on the soaps. I do wonder how everything with Esme will play out, especially regarding her amnesia. Laura is treating her very kindly right now and I do wonder if they will bond more. I've seen people speculate she could end up living with Laura and Kevin for the time being with baby Ace. I could see that happening.

She lived with them once before. I think "Ace" is the first fragment of memory returning. She referred to the unborn baby as Ace.

I am very bothered by Laura being so sympathetic to Esme! Especially because she thinks of Cam as family & what Esme did to Cam was horrible!

It doesn’t bother me because they have set up in character motivation for it- a Cassadine trying to take a baby from their mother.  Doesn’t matter that it was Nikolas or Spencer, that has to be triggering for her.  And also- I thought there was a connection when Esme was living with her before.  Esme is an extreme version of what Laura was like.  Family upheaval, feeling like she didn’t belong with the Vinnings anymore, but also didn’t know how to be Lesley’s daughter.  Followed closely by the David Hamilton affair and killing him.  Laura was very troubled as a young woman with a similar background.

Hopefully they do not have her absolve Esme of everything to get to where they may be going.  Laura can both want to help her and also feel for Cam and Joss.

Okay. Thanks. You make good points. I had thought, of course, about Esme staying with her & Kev in the recent past but not of any of the young Laura & Leslie backstory which is right on point! This will help me as I watch.

That Sonny/Spencer scene made no sense.  Why was Sonny at the hospital visiting Esme's baby? I know he just visited Willow's baby, but is he permanently on the maternity ward?  Why would Spencer discuss his hopes and fears with Sonny? I know they're related, but it's not like they've been close?  It was just too random.

Sonny and Spencer have had multiple scenes discussing Spencer’s custody situation over just the last few weeks. He was likely there because he heard the news and wanted to check on Spencer. None of it was random.

I’m not trying to be a dîck but you post with such authority and get basic facts wrong in every other post. It’s maddening. And would be easier to ignore (like I do a number of the yahoos who post here (you don’t know who you are)) if you weren’t so damn articulate.

No, all of this happened on the night of Portia’s wedding to Curtis, which was the day after Nikolas “died”. They’ve technically covered only 3 days this month lol and it’s technically only February 15th. I wonder if they’ll act like Nik has been in storage for weeks or just a day.

Also re: Heather as the hook. I recall her telling Ryan she only committed some of the murders while Esme was locked up so they’d know there was no way it was Esme. So unless another shoe is about to drop this is a big re-write.

I took it as Heather trying to take the wrap to cover up for Esme... because, her mannerisms at certain points, especially where some of the hookings were concerned, Heather looked perplexed like she was about to be caught. I think it's a rouse to try and avoid the finger being pointed at Esme.

Are you Lynda Hirsch?

Also... where the f**k are they getting these "newborn" babies? I know it isn't easy, with COVID, etc. but Willow gave birth to a six-month old, and Esme just gave birth to a child who is about ready to stand up for the first time with the assistance of a couch.
