It's finally a new year!

What will be in store for us this year on Days? What will it be like once the Peacock produced episodes start dropping?

Now that Uncle Ron's quit Twitter, will he finally put as much time and effort into his storylines as he did trolling and insulting the fanbase?

Will this year be better than the shitty cringey campfest that was 2022?

DISCUSS!

No sympathy for Kristen. She's getting exactly what she deserves, and I don't feel sorry for her at all. SH did do a really good job today though. And, who knew that Sloan had any maternal instincts whatsoever

Who picked that godawful song to use in the scene where Nicole and EJ were about to have sex? Talk about an earworm.

I enjoyed Chloe/Stefan/Gabi though, but once Stefan remembers, what else could they do with him and Gabi as a couple? They should have Stefan remember but then realize that he actually does love Chloe more and still wants to be with her. If the rumors are true, we may get another Sonny/Will/Paul or Ben/Ciara/Theo or Tripp/Allie/Chanel and I don't like that.

I just don't know how this kidnapping plot makes any sense.  The idea does, but the way they are executing it does not.  Even if Eric/Brady get the orchid this all will be easily traced back to them and then Kristen will still have that leverage against them.

Anyhow, the Gabi/Stefan/Chloe stuff is moving again at lightning speed.  Gabi needs to chill.  She's ridiculously aggressive with Stefan.  Give him a moment to breathe.  I don't think Chloe will be involved much longer because I assume she will just get back with Brady.

I like Wendy/Johnny, but I think I liked Wendy/Tripp a little more.  I really like Wendy overall.  She's a great new character and she's a good sister to Li.  I think RH was a little better today at the acting lol.  Not great, but he was basically just talking to himself for half an episode.

I continue to enjoy Nicole/EJ and this is the story DF should have had all along.  Rafe should never have even been in the equation, and it should have been and Eric/Nicole/EJ triangle from the start.

Overall, decent episode.  I am even coming around a bit on Sloan.

Is that Nancy's home? I'm confused. Well, it looks really bad. It's as if she loved the wallpaper at the Salem Inn, but wanted it in Miss Piggy pink. Whoever is in charge of set design probably got drunk one night and went on a frivolous spending spree at Etsy for home decor including wall paneling.

    • It really is ridiculous how happy episodes from 40 years ago make me. God, MKA is so young!
    • Holy sh.it. THAT was a damn soap opera. I’m at a loss for words for how good that was.
    • A private elevator penthouse with a spiral staircase to the primary suite.  Sign me up! The only deficit was that various riff-raffs seemed to have easy access to the elevator.

    • Same here.  Anyone who voluntarily left Margo's penthouse set (except to go overseas or to Heaven) was immediately on my blacklist.  lol.

    • The penthouse was my favorite set... and it changed hands from Margo to Draper/April to Miles/Nicole then to just Miles... before he opted to give that beautiful place for that drab house with the even more drab Beth.  That was a jump the shark moment for me LOL
    • The storyline April and Draper are involved in during the summer/autumn of 1979 seems fairly "benign" but soon turns very serious.  April has a VERY intrusive, wealthy mother (Margo Huntington Dorn).  Margo knows that April and Draper (who've recently had a miscarriage and are theoretically never going to be able to conceive another baby) want to buy a house.  Margo hoodwinks them into buying a house they can't afford.  The house is listed at $100,000 (about $400,000 in today's dollars).  Margo pays the first $35,000 and leads Draper to believe the asking price of the house is $65,000 instead of $100,000.  If Draper finds out his meddling mother-in-law paid 1/3 of the cost of the home and tricked him, he'll be mad as hell.   Meanwhile, Draper has received a job offer from a prestigious New York law firm.  Margo pulls some strings and has the senior partner in the firm rescind the offer, to keep April in Monticello.  If Draper finds out about THAT, he'll be even angrier with Margo than he will be about the house trickery.  All of that is "bubbling under the surface" in the fall of 1979 but will be the next major story, as everything begins to spiral out of control.   Yep, you've got the Karrs and their very basic middle-class house, the Victorian-themed place where Miles and Nicole live, April and Draper's old craftsman house with the exposed beams, the Madisons & their Mission revival house, and Margo with her 1970s-chic penthouse.  Each of the sets is completely different.  And their budget was like zero, lol.
    • It felt weird and out of place.  I get it. While I agree with those on here that say he's gotten better, it's still really bad. I'm not seeing the "good" acting some see...but I'll give him a B for being better than when he first started. There's potential. I'll leave it at that.
    • It's like watching paint dry at a slow-ass pace. It's bad acting. Entirely. Excellent? With Claybon? Never. Ever.
