The propping of NBC-affiliated series in today's episode was not it, especially when we all know primetime series are not doing the same in return for the mention-name-dropping of Days of Our Lives.
Richard Bloore has been the costume designer lead at this soap since the early 1990s, and it is showing; he cannot dress his cast, and they look horribly ill-fitted and dated. He should not have returned after Jayne Marie Kehoe left the position. And if Lauren Koslow's husband is still the head of the hair and makeup departments, then he should be replaced, too.
The little actor portraying Victoria is adorable. She really is a cutie-pa-tootie!
Emily O'Brien and Greg Rikaart are a hoot together; they work more as friends on Days of Our Lives than they ever did as spouses on The Young and the Restless. Solid casting choices, even if Gwen is not a necessary character to have on the canvas at the present time.
I genuinely hope Stephanie leaves Alex; although, she should have left him for Jeremy, but that ship has sailed... for now. And then Alex can join Joy, and they can leave Salem with their daughter for good.
The moaning sex music that this soap employs for its scenes โ both sexual in nature and nonsexual โ needs to go. It is giving me a cheap ripoff of Shelley Duvall's Faerie Tale Theatre. I have expected her to pop up in front of the scene and just go, "Hello, I'm Shelley Duvall!"
