How come Doug Davidson didn't get a 40th anni episode in 2018?

He was still on the show at that time. Was he already marked for extinction at that point and they didn't want to draw attention to his status?

You make a good point about DD, but after seeing what a right winger he is on social media, I’m glad he’s gone. He’s now living on fumes — retweeting fans who want Paul back.

The special episode was exceedingly well done. The flashbacks were excellent, but so was the dialogue leading into and out of those flashbacks. It’s not easy to make those look natural and genuine, but the writers were at the top of their game — as were Eileen Davidson and Beth Maitland.

I felt like there was too much talking and the clips were short... if Traci is talking about being addicted to diet pills, it would be nice to see a clip! This felt more like Beth's episode than Eileen's, and I'm not complaining on that. She's such an asset to the show. Eileen has said she doesn't feel like this is her anniversary, but Ashley's, and acknowledged that other actresses played the part.

Interesting how they showed the abortion confrontation scene without saying what it was about. Amazing that 35 years later, it's too controversial, lol.

I enjoyed the anniversary episode of Beth and Eileen. The flashbacks were great to see again. Beth getting the classic openings during the mid break. Poor Eileen...they only put her red flowing background porny music opening credits....lol

Really enjoyed the anniversary episode. Fantastic flashbacks. Traci should absolutely have a child on canvas. They should have her a troubled teen. Yes it’s been done on this show but it makes sense here.

Enjoyed the anniversary episode. We got to see Danny,Tim, Amy,John and Brad.

With so much history there they had to be selective and did a good job.

Eileen and Beth made the dialogue flow so easily-obviously with years under their belt and knowing the characters inside and out.

But it contrasted with Kelsey Wang who sounded a little clunky to me. I like the actress but the newbies aren't getting the direction, the character background or the time that Beth and Eileen had in their early days.

What do we know about Allie? She seems a nice young woman and that's it.

Also Jack got the final shot? Should have been Ashley and Traci.

If I didn't already know the anniversary episode showed how previous regimes damaged YR severely  by killing off John, Brad and Colleen. Traci definitely needs a child on the canvas.

One of the main reasons why I pushed back on the idea of killing Abby, as messy as that character has become. All of the Abbott siblings except Ashley (Billy, Jack, Traci) have lost kids, which has decimated a generation. (Not counting the unborn children Ashley has lost.)

By now Traci should have adopted/mentored a young woman who has become her surrogate daughter and part of the Abbott family.

Maybe Steve had a daughter whose mom died and came to live with the Connellys?

That could easily be explained and worked into the story. Traci becomes a surrogate mother to the girl and they stay close after her divorce from Steve.
