It's funny but I can actually stand it when Dante tries to talk to this new man whoever he is. Oh, right, we're going along to get along & calling him Sonny no matter how much we may feel he's some foreign creature. I dislike ALL of Sonny's scenes except when Dante is trying to reach him. And, I resent the time spent with Sonny & deadLenny and with Sonny & downhome new married advice to Brando! And, Brando likes this new guy. Go figure.

This show is zzzzzzzz. Slow as hell (yet with these lightning-quick scenes), dreary, with a lot of poorly defined, aimless characters and nothing that seems to link them together as a community. The show has no vibe, no heart, no humor.

5-13

SMH. Spencer was soo close. But Kevin is onto him. Ugh. But I continue to be enjoying the teens story with Cam and Spencer trying to get the goods on Esme. Now it's going to be crazy.

Ooooo at Valentin trying to drive that wedge between Ned and Michael/Drew.

I do like that rather than run off half-cocked that Carly is playing her cards close to the vest by doing that DNA test. I would have just thought she would have gone off and gotten revenge. But...twists and turns.

Okay...now I think it's about time for a Liz reveal.

Totally. I’ve been watching a lot of Marland-era ATWT lately, and you definitely see today’s GH attempt a similar vision, but it’s just so poorly executed and scattershot. ATWT could be slow and repetitive too, but the characters and their relationships are so beautifully drawn (and have space to breathe) that you live for their every interaction. Carly/Nina are no Margo/Barbara.

When I watch the show I'm just like "Who is this?" about so many people.

Alexis had a scene with a familiar character actor and a little girl in a park. I think he's Michael Easton's father. Why is his character's father even on the canvas? And who is that little girl's mother?

They feel like filler. Days has a similar problem. The cast is so enormous and the stories start and stop so much that there's no sense of purpose or focus. They're just making sure they have 5 hours to fill each week.

Oh. I didn't realize Rebecca Budig was on long enough to have a whole ass child.

    • I'm pretty sure this ep is  from Dec 73 From the Daytime Serial Newsletter Ian and Valerie Northcote are deeply concerned over Laurie's  life being increasingly dominated by hallucinations and fantasies about Georgina, the former owner of the house the Reddins recently bought and are now living in. Doreen Post (Linda Purl) was involved in that story .Perhaps she was going to be revealed as Georgina's daughter? Wonder how that story evolved and whether it was wrapped up before cancellation? and thanks to @skylark

    • Many thanks to @skylark and @DRW50!
    • Thank u so much! I love that show and the more I see of it the more I want to find more of it even if it’s just in script form. But that house and especially the room looked like Victoria Winters room from dark shadows lol  this was great find! Thanks
    • I genuinely thought when they said she had been throwing up, we were going to get a pregnancy story. I’m actually not convinced we aren’t. Especially the way she and Doug danced around her own infidelity.
    • Shouldn't it be the other way? I don't think Taylor Hayes is playing Rebecca Budig.

    • And the most detailed discussion I've seen from an industry figure about some of JFP's worst choices as a producer (steamrolling over writers) was from another woman, Megan McTavish.
    • IMDb is definitely incorrect, because the final week of episodes in 1974 is uploaded to Youtube in audio form, and Mark and Laurie are there until the very end. The last episode shows Mark going back to the priesthood. I looked at the newspaper and the earliest reference to their house being haunted by Georgina is in December of 1973. This is dated Dec 14, but this same synopsis ran in the papers until the end of December in other publications. So it must have been within those last 3-4 months. I think Stephanie Braxton joined around 1969-1970 so that's probably right. I saw it stated in other newspapers that David Gale joined around September 1972.

    • Opal having siblings could add to the story. However, it raises questions about Tad's adoption. Why were the Martins allowed to adopt him if Tad had aunts or uncles who could have cared for him?  Logic limited the number of possible Gardner's (and whatever Opal's maiden name was).  Even though Linda Thorson would have been a hysterical choice given her British accent.  Especially because SOD often published questions by readers who wondered why Tad and Jenny didn't speak like their mother.   All of which is still not an excuse for Tad's evil doppelgänger Ted.
    • And if I remember correctly, at one point, they were considering having Linda Thorson play Opal's sister.
