It’s weird that Ashley, Traci, and Billy didn’t bring up Theo when discussing potential agenda-driven interlopers in their family.

That story literally just happened.

Did I miss a step with Allie and Diane? This light, cordial interaction feels odd after the strained conversation they had when Jack revealed who “Taylor” really was.

Also this LOL

Diane said the one thing that nobody else would to Jack about his relationship with Keemo. Keemo turned his back on Jack and he just let him.

I also don't understand the comparisons of Diane Jenkins with Sheila Carter on social media and other boards. Diane, like Phyllis, was of the scheming vixen type. Sheila on the other hand more or less fills the mold of what a soap villain is.

I will say it even though it makes sound nuts: I think the show PR has to do with the way Diane is talked about in comments and social med ia.
As I said, I spotted immediately from the interviews and the teaser that the show was portraying her as a big bad villain which she wasn't (to repeat myself, an antagonist, not a villain).
But then YouTube comments were full of fans talking about her as if she was scary and like Sheila and all that and sorry but it doesn't pass the sniff test.  It may make me sound conspiracionist but I think the comm team has sock puppets that are leading the conversation that way. I remember suspecting the same thing when the YouTube comments for B&B re" Taylor/Ridge were soooo skewed towards cheering Steffy and talking about Taylor like a saint - which they were doing on a show but that any viewed would know better about.
NO ONE who watched when Diane was on would ever think of her that way - particularly not since the most "violent" things Diane did like the fire were not in her most recent MW appearance where she was semi-scheming semi-pathetic. And young viewers would not get excited over a character they know so little as to be skewed by the misleading way the show is presenting her.
So I don't believe it to be organic. There, I said it.

It is refreshing to see some actual Abbott family drama again on the show, even if it supported largely by ED, BM, and again more 20 year old flashbacks.

The lack of Theo mention and also Billy’s words about Phyllis considering his own history with her were indeed strange.

And yeah it’s strange that people are comparing Diane to Sheila when Diane came no where close, and even what’s being played out on screen doesn’t even suggest in the slightest that Diane is unhinged, but rather she is simply haunted and full of regrets and actually being realistic.

Of course we still have the mystery of Allie’s mother, maybe that’s what is next

4-1

Those flashbacks were GOLD.

Not only did anybody who did not know the history...got to see the history...but long timers got to see some great scenes. I for one never saw the scene when Diane found out it was Jack's sperm, not Victor's sperm that produced Kyle so I loved finally seeing that.

Speaking of scenes, I loved the first scenes between Jack and Diane. Those were actually done well and PB and SW sold it for me. And some decent music, too.

As for the 'how...' it makes me almost (note I said almost hehe) go back and watch the story because I barely remember the aftermath. And just mentioning Deacon Sharpe...mmmmm...lol.

As far as the rest of the show....uh...what show? lol.

I did like the coverover that Lauren was wearing. That's all I got.

    • Am I remembering correctly that the Madison's lived in a Spanish revival-style house? I have a vague recollection of the fireplace looking especially Spanish in style. It is unusual that Montecello had so many architectural styles.  Obviously, that might occur IRL.  But, look at other east coast soaps and there is a definitive style that is throughout (because it was styled by a set decorator) regardless of the income of the occupants.
    • @kalbir MSW was a powerhouse for CBS. Angela Lansbury was a superb actress. In 1985, TV viewers were tiring of the primetime soaps and the like. People wanted storytelling and MSW was great at that and had great guest stars. Storytelling -- an amazing and novel concept. CBS Daytime by 1985 was beating ABC so CBS was on the upswing.
    • I'd say just the opposite - conflict means they will find out and then be at odds. For the limited amount of time people on this show have conflict (if they aren't named Nina or Ric, I guess).
    • Totes mcgoats (aka I agree). But, now the character needs to move forward.  Clyde's exit was 12/11/24.  It is May.  She and Chad have been on one date. I don't think they've slept together. And she was only planning on sticking around for a year.
    • That is one of the best insults I've heard in a long time.  I burst out laughing when Kat called Eva that.  LOL Their scenes, of course, were really good.  Colby and Ambyr have so much chemistry.  The only thing I'd change is Kat saying "you're dead to me."  That's a phrase usually said about someone you care about.  I would've preferred something like "You will never be my sister," or something similar to that.  Nice contrast at the end with both mothers/daughters:  Kat comforting/consoling her mother, and Eva being locked out by her mother.  Yeah, I wasn't a big of fan of the singing either, especially after your daughter's life has been destroyed.  What?  LOL And I also agree with those that thought Dana/Leslie's scenes with the Dupree's didn't feel right since Eva is not a Dupree....unless she is.  But as of right now, she's not.
    • Trisha Mann-Grant, Ambyr Michelle, Sean Freeman are destined for bigger and better things. They need to move on as soon as their initial contracts are done.
    • Daphnée Duplaix and Trisha Mann-Grant on Instagram live, 5/5/2025 just concluded, saved here https://www.instagram.com/p/DJSsYb7PDv8/
    • I really need to see Anita in a scene that isn't with a family member. In fact, I would have preferred that she would have gotten rid of the mob and had a one on one with Leslie to lay down the law with her.  I'm going to say it, Mike Manning has been completely lifeless on this show. Other than people's superficial fondness for him, I don't get what they see in him as an actor. I never saw him on DAYS though. The show had another really strange cut right before the opening credits where it looked like they almost cut off Nicole mid-sentence.  Kat/Eva are carrying this show on their backs. Lock them in for lifetime contracts, I beg.
    • There's a 1980 scene of Victor and Katherine in the Chancellor Estate living room where they went over a contract that would put Victor in charge of Chancellor Industries, but it was rewritten that Katherine brought Victor to Genoa City so he could run Chancellor Industries.
    • Put me in the minority in being happy about Cat not being Abby. After the two adult recasts played tag with the role, it's time for a few years of rest. I have a huge list of things I hate about RC's writing, but that choice was not one of them.
