Y&R and B&B April (and late March) spoilers

It’s a problem with all of these shows to an extent. Maybe not as extreme as B&B, which expects daily amnesia from its viewers. That’s not soap. Makes it so easy to tune out. I’m still pissed about Quinn’s absence from recent stories. She should have been involved in pretty much every story this year so far, from Sheila to Carter/Paris.

I appreciate your commentary regarding this @janea4old it didn't today, I hope tomorrow. Of course it is fiction, but this could be resonating for viewers that have contemplated suicide, been in a similar situation, etc.; Suicide should never be taken lightly regardless of the circumstances, if B&B doesn't do a PSA, shame on them, that is in such poor taste.

I think the context for a PSA is a factor here - Sheila shot her own son to cover-up other crimes - so there's not emotional connection with a large part of the audience. Most likely assumed Sheila was using it as a ploy to trick Taylor.

On the other hand, if Hope were despondent after she 'lost' her baby, got depressed, etc. and was on that ledge, that would be considerably different.

Let's face it: Brad has really botched this story starting from the label swap. It's been a complete disaster. They'd be better off waking Steffy from a coma when JMW returns from leave, make it a dream and wipe it away. No one will care or remember since B&B will be back to 'normal' in 5 episodes and never mention it again. If they didn't want the actor who plays FInn around, recast, or have him leave Steffy.

Where is Paris in the Quinn/Carter stuff? I don't know.

There is a week of April 11th spoiler pic of Paris with Zende and the caption says they are being supportive at the hospital.

Paris has a new hairstyle. But no other spoilers for her yet.

Seriously the most interesting thing they have spoiled is her hairstyle. Is Paris going to be with Zende? with Carter? Are they going to give her a life and a storyline that's something other than men who sort of care about her?

Because just sending Steffy to the Paris office for a few weeks during her leave *simply* wouldn't have worked. Having Steffy revert to thinking she's still married to Liam is so pathetic. How about Steffy waking up and thinking she's married to $Bill? Or Rick?

Are fans really clamoring for Steffy/Liam/Hope triangle? I doubt it.

B&B's HOT Summer Previews:

- When Steffy's recovery faces a yet another MAJOR set-back, Hope finds comfort in someone *unexpected* (Thomas)

- Carter, Paris, Zende and Quinn welcome Steffy and Liam home during their one June episode.

- Steffy places a MYSTERIOUS call to Genoa City.

- $Bill discovers Steffy's been faking it as part of her revenge plot to nail Sheila. $Bill tells Steffy to forget about that psycho Sheila and focus on keeping her reunited family again.

- Flo and Wyatt check in on Steffy/Liam during their one July episode.

- After Hayes suffers a MAJOR health crisis, Steffy must turn to the only person who can save him (Sheila).

- After finding common ground, Sheila and Steffy celebrate with a bottle of champagne.

- Brooke's epic search for the dark forces leads her to open her very big heart again.

So true. The other thing I have speculated/rumored now is Steffy is going to wake up with DID and think she is Hope and that Hope is Steffy. Given how such an outlandish plot is already awful on Days, I can’t even imagine how such a story would play out on B&B

@edgeofnik I’m dying laughing

Thudley and Casey would be proud of those spoilers, only thing missing is a vague line about someone dying.

    • 5-12   Well, as much as i've been enjoying the highs of BTG, I guess I should try to play catch up on my other soaps...lol.   I actually liked this episode. But I guess it could be because I felt there was a lot going on. Bill and Liam's talk. Luna attempting them inroads with Finn. Steffy comforting Hope over Liam. Sheila thanking Bill for helping Luna. Even a decent cliffhanger with Steffy walking in on Luna and Finn.   I know I said it before, but I don't care for the Liam storyline, but the acting has been good.
    • I enjoyed Santa Barbara from the beginning. Mainly because it was so fresh and different than the P&G soaps I was used to watching.  But there is no denying that it did not hit its stride until 1985. The writing, casting and production all finally came together. Unfortunately backstage drama then slowly destroyed the show and for me from 1988 onward it was a completely different show than the one I was a fan of.
    • Oh, really? That explains why the reveal episodes...the majority of which Zimmerman did the breakdowns for...hit perfectly. Cool! I really loved that. Background music and all.
    • I guess I should appreciate Clifton's devotion to his craft, but this comes off as so pretentious. Nothing about Liam's story (or B&B, for that matter) is high art.
    • To me the product placement normalizes these folks. Your bound to see household products around no matter how immaculate someone's house may be.  I was just thinking about her as Yvonne on AMC. Yeah, would love to see her.
    • There's also the soap opera conundrum: once characters get everything they want, they tend to stagnate. Nola got everything she wanted. One of the things that was really interesting about her was that tremendous need for things out of her grasp. Once that was resolved, there wasn't much left for her to play. Maybe Long could have found something to replace that, but since she wasn't created by Long, she probably preferred to focus on the needy character she created: Reva. They were still significant stockholders. They could have punched back. Vanessa forced to team with the brother she resents. I can see it working.
    • She could have easily tied them into the Cottage Mystery...(they could have easily explained going on adventures with Bea, babysitting) The house that Tony and Annabelle lived in could have been the coachhouse of the property that Qualo and Henry live in, or at the very least Nola would have been totally in on ghosts and secrets of her brother's house. But they kind of just sat around for months.  The clip of Van and Billy's impromptu wedding shows how sidelined Nola and Quint became...Nola isn't even around butting in on them getting married, its all Reva (though it is a more interesting Reva where Mindy and her or going at it and insulting each other..THAT Reva was fun.)  I loved it when those two would go at it. Somehow they could have resurrected that antogonistic relationship and not have Billy worshing at the throne of Reva.  When they brought JC back on recurring they should have had him at least warn Annie about Jeva pulling her down..."Darlin' I love my brother, but when he has ole Reva in his sites he will drop any woman to try to win her back...and then he will get bored with her...she's like booze is to me and you...he hates it but he needs it..get out while you can!"
    • It's been brought up that Empty Nest was a time slot hit. Here's Empty Nest schedule and seasonal rating in comparison to The Golden Girls. 1988/89: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1989/90: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1990/91: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 10th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 7th. 1991/92: The Golden Girls Saturday 8 pm, 30th (final season). Empty Nest Saturday 9 pm, 22nd.  1992/93: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1993/94: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1994/95: Saturday 8:30 pm then 8 pm, below the Top 30, and cancelled. Empty Nest 7 season run equaled the parent show The Golden Girls.
