Just hit home to me that Y&R has 3 major contract characters-Ashland, Jack and Victor all males over 60.

Number of contract females over 60 -ZERO.

Surprised they decided to go with an over 60 actor for the Ashland role.

Lily goes around town baiting Ashland and Adam, looking like a complete idiot on Billy’s behalf.

It’s easy to be confused: MTS feels like a recurring cast member.

Also, this is the bun atop Lily’s head:

I am watching this show today for the first time in quite a while.

Boring.

This show needs new producers and writers. The first character the new writer creates should be a serial killer. I have never been fans of that type of story but this show needs a jolt.

This. The entire purpose of this story was to tie Devon to Abby (and Chance). The show wanted them to have a child to coparent. There won't be a court case because Chance will talk Abby into giving Devon shared custody.

Devon and Amanda moving into the Chancellor mansion wouldn't surprise me. The only thing that would surprise me is the show doing a serious romance between Devon and Abby. They'd do Chance and Amanda in a heartbeat though.

Agree.  I applaud Y&R for resisting doing a serial killer storyline for so long, but...it's time.

But you won't like who the show kills. Let me give you a tentative list:

Tessa

Elena

Nate

Jill

Nina

Tracy

Lauren

The killer will be caught as he/she tries to murder Sharon.

Devon really looks like an ass in this story.

I swear the characters on this show do nothing but drink coffee and go to Society.

If they had really shown Chance endangering Dominic, and not just being a reluctant, out-of-it new dad, it would have justified Devon’s reaction more. But this show pulls its punches when it comes to drama.

    • GET THAT HEFFA, NOSY NURSE!!!   I'm sorry to see Smitty and June coming to a middle ground. It seem like that tension would be between them for at least one more story arc. A writing change?   I'm sorry but I love the teen unit of Ty, Samantha, and Jessica (and Rocco, Danny, Charlotte over on GH which is what today is reminding me of). I'm a sucker for soap teens. lol.
    • I really hope Laura doesn’t get reelected. She doesn’t deserve it. Imagine her campaign staff, freaking out at the Metro Court as election results come in while she’s hanging out with Sonny.
    • Thanks for that. It was great to see her in an interview. She's very likable. Although it was somewhat confusing. What new soap is she talking about going on audition for in 1973. Was it The Young and the Restless? Is it just me or did they never even say the name of this soap opera? Days wasn't new in 1973 and there was no "Jack" with three daughters on The Young and the Restless. What soap are they talking about? The editing around that part was weird and choppy. I felt like there was a chunk missing or something. And I'm not sure why she was saying she got colorectal cancer from HPV and said it's because she never got the HPV vaccine but then said she's never had anal sex. I'm not a doctor but that didn't seem to make any medical sense. I don't know. Maybe I'm tired. It just seemed like some of this interview didn't make sense.
    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
    • B&B really does look incredible. The lighting and the polished sets have made a significant difference how visually appealing the show is now.
    • I found the problem with the Labine era was that the show lost some humour when the Labines came on and it could be dull. They also didn't seem to understand some of the characters. As others have said, it looks fantastic in comparison to the next regime but I just remember boredom being the primary response.
    • Something I didn't realize: Frank Ashmore, who played Monica's investigator Corrigan in 1981, was also Victor, the third guy in the cockpit, in Airplane!
    • Thanks, maybe I will skim through those episodes.  I have previously binged late 1985 through early 1987; April-June, August 1992 (I skipped Carlo Hesser murder trial), Jan-March 1995 and I began watching in 2006. I just struggle to stay consistent with routines especially binging routines haha
    • I could've sworn we went over the Bobbie thing a while ago, and saw her introduced to Rick and Lesley as "Nurse Barbara" in very late '77? Or was that early '78? I know the clip is online. Jackie always credited Marland with creating her IIRC.
    • Thanks.  Loon Lake - very on the nose. With that "dad" outfit Bo looks even more like Cassie's father...
