I forget: did we ever find out if she was Bruce Sterling's biological daughter?

I thought Mary Carny was attractive, a competent actress, and showed potential. Too bad TPTB axed her so quickly in favor of the painfully bad Kathleen Tolan.

Speaking of Ryan's Hope, my unpopular opinion is that Johnny Ryan was a pompous, unlikeable and boorish windbag, and Maeve could be a cold fish.

Its not a cancelled show but it's about an unpopular opinion about Y&R:

I always thought Jack and Nikki should've been a proper couple. They would've been more dynamite and a power couple than Victor and Nikki tbh.

I have loved Terry Lester's Jack so much.. It was a shame that in 1986 when Nikki/Jack were a thing it got ruined with Victor/Ashley's affair and her cancer (was it cancer? I don't remember but she was ill and Victor stayed with her) and the 'WHO SHOT JILL'-Story where Jack was accused of attempted murder.

  • I am not sure to which extent this is an unpopular opinion since I wasn't online much then. I gather people clung to their understandable emotional attachment to Erin Torpey but I actually liked Bree Williamson and while we can argue with the retcons necessary for that story and some of the writing along the way, I think she was doing mostly good work with the DID.

  • I had then and still have zero interest in OLTL's Marcie and Michael and I cannot understand why the show played them for so long.

  • ATWT one would be: I did prefer Scott Holroyd in the role (as many others, I think) but I actually ... didn't mind RH as Paul? I mean, yes, he was playing Roger Howarth as Todd Manning as Paul Ryan but it made sense enough considering the Ryan history.
I am a bit more sour on RH now after the GH messes, but at the time I confess I was enjoying watching him do his thing as Paul, even admitting that it changed the character towards the kind of material he is more comfortable doing.

I actually liked PB's Jack with Nikki. Their first marriage was and still is my favorite PB pairing.

    • Welcome back, Shawn Douglas! It's been a while. It really is too bad that the writers don't really have an interest in the character because there are still a lot of ways that he can be used effectively on the canvas. He should have been a part of the 60th anniversary celebrations as well. If anything, just to represent Bo and Hope. And I'd much rather see Jada paired with him than possibly with Theo. But I enjoyed him getting caught up with Belle, and comforting her. I'm sure they'll find their way back to each other at some point but I do like them as divorced friends. I just hope we see it play out onscreen. Belle being a dick about Sami again was unnecessary though. And we finally saw Liam again!  I'm curious to see how this storyline is going to play out, and who's going to be weaved into it. He and Abe do work well together too. And we learned that he has a kid. Hopefully, we'll learn more about his character in the future. But I'm not really sure about Johnny and Chanel suddenly having problems with raising Trey. They've wanted a baby for so long, so I don't understand why this is even an issue. They should know by now what it's like to raise a baby. But I did enjoy Johnny's scenes with EJ, and that Johnny still hasn't refused to forgive him. This storyline was/is very clunky, but having the two of them be at odds is the right decision. There's so much story potential that can be drawn from that. As for Chad... there was no time for us to see his reunion with Will, but there's time for us to see him talking BS with Leo? I don't get it. And I don't get all this random dating app stuff either. Leo and Javi were boring af too. If we're forced to endure them, can they at least have some real conflict? The two of them losing the baby was the perfect opportunity for it.

    • I enjoy BF better on Days than on YR.   Chad is greater than Cane, in my opinion.
    • Ick! Seeing MS and BF making out as the characters onscreen was just ewwww.

    • That was the best part of Tuesday's episode.  Martin and Smitty and their family are boring.
    • Crew Morrow's acting on Tuesday's episode was just dreadful. The weird faces he was making were just awful
    • Creatively, he probably should have stayed with The Doctors, where he stood out as an antihero lead. Not sure what happened with GH. He didn't have the same impact. Was it bad writing, not clicking with co-stars? Didn't they gave him a boat load of money to join GH in 1976? Was Mark Dante just a toned-down version of Nick Bellini? Were they basically the same character?
