Lulu Roman, Star of TV’s ‘Hee Haw’ Over a Nearly Quarter-Century Run, Dies at 78

I'm a very unashamed "Hee Haw" fan, and Lulu to me is one of the quintessential faces associated with the show. There have been so many meaningful celebrity deaths in the last month that I've barely had enough time to really react, but I made it a point to watch a few episodes yesterday afternoon/evening in her honor.

the AP account of Ruth Buzzi said she'd had Alzheimer's for 10 years? -- they are quoting her facebook as saying that.

Now her facebook says this:
Ruth Buzzi
July 24, 1936 – May 1, 2025
Ruth Buzzi died peacefully in her sleep at home in Texas.
She was in hospice care for several years with Alzheimer’s disease.
Memorial arrangements by Lacy Funeral Home, Stephenville, Texas to be announced.
Her family requests donating to Alzheimer’s research (www.alz.org) in lieu of flowers.

(the reference to ten years is not there)

A few hours before her death was announced, her husband posted onto her facebook this:

This is Ruth Buzzi‘s husband writing on her page.  She asked me to thank all of you for being so good to her for so many years.  She wants you to know she probably had more fun doing those shows than you had watching them.    Because of health issues, she’s must withdraw from writing, but she will still be reading and enjoying your posts.
If you've met Ruthie and had a picture taken with her, please post it below.   If you have a great memory from her career that you enjoyed — a special comedy sketch, or a moment that made you laugh — share that with us.
Ruthie loves you.

Rest in peace, Ruth Buzzi! Laugh In was before my time, but from the clips I have come across on YouTube, she was a very funny lady.

Prayers to her loved ones.

Laugh-In was also before my time, but I loved watching her when Nick at Nite and TV Land ran repeats. She was also on Sesame Street for years. So vibrant. One of those people I've never heard bad word of.

Thanks and for those who've aren't familiar with the talk shows in The Bahamas on this thread here, his talk show named The Freedom March with Dr Rodney Moncur that airs on ILTV and The Beat 103.5 FM Nassau every weekday afternoons. IIRC, he suffered a illness before he died.

Here's the link for his final taping of the show before his death:

I am loathe to gatekeep but why is the new pope being chosen posted here? RIP In Memoriam thread is for those who have died. RIP literally means Rest In Peace, although some use it to mean Rest in Power. Either way the issue is death.
