Jacob and Naomi are on a whole other level of boring. This storyline putting them on opposite sides of an investigation is even more unrealistic than usual. No institution would ever allow such an obvious conflict of interest.
Nice to see Heather’s London set has the exact same wall lamp as her brother Joey’s brand-new office. 😂
Seeing in the preview that the Duprees are actually taking a bus trip this week felt like being released after months in captivity. The set situation has become downright claustrophobic. Those Banneker University-branded decorations make me uncomfortable, though.
Izaiah and Kat just don’t feel organic. The writers constantly have to come up with contrived excuses to put them together, and of course Izaiah apparently has the most flexible job on earth. Kat and Jacob would’ve been a much more natural pairing, with plenty of organic opportunities to interact.
Vanessa being attacked offscreen was yet another example of questionable writing. What made it even more convoluted was having André actually be there to witness the whole thing. Huh? That’s a pretty major event to leave entirely to our imagination, and yet another unnecessary layer added to the story.
I see Joey’s army of henchmen keeps growing. I guess that means Randy has officially been “upgraded” and Joey’s shelf life isn’t so short after all. Now Joey even has a white henchman. Is it just me, or does he treat him better than his Black henchmen?
Another downside of exposing Hayley so abruptly over the course of two episodes is that they skipped several beats whose eventual reveals will now have far less impact. What happened to the Randy/Sammy connection? And when is anyone finally going to put two and two together about Lynette Wise?
