The mess at the CDC began at the very beginning of the coronavirus’ entry in the U.S. in early 2020 when they failed to communicate how people could protect themselves and others by making a simple face-covering and using proper hygiene and allowed this to be taken over by Trump who politicized the issue and made it about “freedom”.

Many people are puzzling over how this has gone so poorly and so quickly because China had about three years to get their COVID-19 remediation strategy into effect and they clearly didn’t. Those of us who have been consistently reading about what has been going on in China these last few years are aware that their domestically produced vaccines have been shown as less effective than others around the world and their rate of vaccination among the elderly and most vulnerable of their citizens has been abysmal. And for much of the pandemic, the Chinese government has been intent on shoving COVID-19 positive people into crowded mass quarantine centers instead of seeing whether some might be able to safely quarantine at home. They never adapted their strategy.

Those lights are regular lights though. No special filters that I can see but I have been wondering for years why no proper air filtration systems have been installed in schools and public buildings. Hospitals seem to be the only public buildings where there is any filtration system in place.
