LOL finally someone at CNN understands they overuse the “Breaking News” banner. When everything is “Breaking News,” nothing is. It’s a problem with a lot of news channels these days:

Dave Weigel yet again trying to show us what an edgy edgy boy he is (he's 40 years old - not age-shaming, as I'm around there too, but I am not working at a "prestigious" paper which should mean some basic level of pulling back your endless shitposting) and then backtracking.

More warring and toxicity at the Washington Post. A lot of right wing figures like Greenwald and Jesse Singal are rallying around Weigel, likely due to him always trying to carve out a dudebro lane on Twitter that tends to defend or turn a blind eye toward that circle jerk.

It should be easy to say don't use your official account to shitpost and try to avoid the realities of aging, but instead it has to become an oasis of martyrdom.

Meanwhile, the New York Times, at a time when they know the GOP is pushing to limit or ban divorce, pushes op-eds trying to shame and guilt people into staying in unhappy marriages. Oh and the woman writing this is a member of a virulently anti-gay breakaway Anglican church.

Weigel is a d*ck, but Somnez seems awful too, so it’s just another example of them all eating themselves and looking pathetic and petty in front of a public they are supposed to inform.

An additional thread:

Sonmez has certainly done her share of showing out in the last few days and appears to now be trying to get fired. But I also don't think anything she's said about the editorial double standards at these offices is wrong. Hence why scum like Josh Kraushaar has finally been rescued from the depths of the National Journal and hired by (of course) Axios. There are always different rules for white men, but especially white conservative men.

Of all the grifters and "free thinking" fascists to join  the truly dangerous Matt Walsh in his virulent crusades against lgbt people,  I think I hate Taibbi the most.

Not surprising, sadly. But their problem is still serious with or without her.
