This is probably the most WTF thing to ever happen with soap writing - Annie Burgstede was listed as Co-HW (below Sara Bibel). 😳  She played Willow on DAYS.  She has a few writing credits but nothing noteworthy.

🤔

So I wonder if the incoming Daran Little will be part of a trio of Co-HWs now...all very strange.

She's not a co-head. She has updated her IMDB and identifies herself as a "storyliner"   She listed several episodes already including earlier Nov episodes even though her name was not listed in the show credits.

I wrote a very short student film and am putting my name to the first of a potential web/TV series.

Maybe there’s hope for me 😂...

Of course I jest, but that’s definitely a double take occurrence.

She is in the Co-HW position with Sara, so she's definitely doing more. There's no "storyliner" position on American soaps - I believe that's a British soap title.   We'll see if she's in today's credits.    I wonder if this is going to be Daren Little's position too.

How the hell did she go from a bit soap player to CO-HW of Y&R? That is bizarre...I will say, the show doesn't seem to be improving so I'm not sure she'll make much a difference. Considering Sara knows the show I'm surprised she hasn't had more positive impact.

If rumors of Mal’s tyrannical management style are true, Sara might not be that empowered.

Holiday in Handcuffs was a pretty good movie (one of my favs).  They had a family meltdown during the holidays, a lead character being desperate to bring a guy home for Christmas.. quirky characters.. and an organic way for the hostage to fall for his captor (a nice gender reversal on the old Stockholm Syndrome theme).  She can write family scenes, comic scenes, and sad scenes.  I can't believe that is her only writing credit to date

She’s good. Very natural but smart dialogue. None of that “tiramisu sex” trying-too-hard BS we’ve been getting lately.

Daran Little is listed as “story consultant” today. Sara Endsley wrote another script.

Is Daran easing into a co-HW role, or did Burgstede end up in the Milstein spot?

Did Mal and Daran ever work together on a British soap?

Nope. They worked on EastEnders at different times
