The problem with Hilary (as a vixen) is that she doesn't have a best friend (or two) to balance things out. The Mariah relationship had potential but Y&R's insistence on pairing her with Devon ruined that.

 

Victor (used to) have Douglas, Diane had Marissa, Drucilla & Sharon had each other, Nina had Cricket & Danny, Cricket had Lynne, Grace had Tony, Phyllis had Malcolm, Joni & Michael, Chelsea has Jordan, etc.

You are so right. What made CG work in the beginning was that she was tied to 'sweet' Cassie. She had a troubled, shady past, street smart and called out people. I'm wondering if Mariah bringing up her past a few times with Tessa may usher a return to the original Mariah. However, making her catty doesn't work. What works is when she can tough and direct. They need her working with EB again. CG works so well with EB, JM and obviously SC. It would've been interesting if Mariah was Nikki's assistant - not the music but everything else.

I agree. Have Mariah work at Newman and be an intern too and there she can butt heads with Summer and make life interesting for Abby
