I was hoping it was someone else from ATWT that I cared about. I'm wondering if he is playing a gay character for the month and then unseen? Cause Henry sure was gay no matter who he was paired with.

Trent Dawson and Rebecca Budig? The magic of Jean Passanante's ATWT and AMC tenures is alive!

As for Trent Dawson:

The names they come up with are awful. Remember Denise…..oye……when I picture Henry Dawson the name Huxley doesn't come to mind…LOL…It was probably FV idea….throwing out the word Hunky and they came up with Huxley from that..LOL

I only like Grayson for about the first year after that he was horrible. Once they changed his personality and made him this macho thug that was it for me!

He couldn't play Bloom's version of Dusty so they did a 180 in his character.

I thought Grayson had a reasonably good first year or so because I thought he had great chemistry with Martha Byrne. But his recast clearly bore little resemblance to the old Dusty, and it was one of the first Sheffer reimaginings of classic characters that really didn't work for a lot of people. (I know others hated his versions of Craig, etc. from the jump.) After that first blush he turned gross fast.

Hearing this news takes me back to how horrible ATWT was the last year from….

Henry/Babs to Juicy Janet to Liberty and Parker to Roger Howarth's Paul with KMH Emily to Katie and Brad…...what a nightmare!!

I didn't mind Henry/Barbara.

I wasn't a huge fan of Henry or Trent Dawson but there are a lot worse people to get from ATWT and I'm not sure how he's going to besmirch GH. This is the show that continues to push the likes of Joel Grey de Vry as a leading figure.

    • If NBC could have for seen the ratings of Lovers & Friends (the replacement for Somerset).. they would have for sure kept Somerset on the air longer. https://jason47.com/days/ratings1976.html  (ratings for Somerset in the final year) https://jason47.com/days/ratings1977.html (ratings for Lovers & Friends short run...getting as low as a 2 rating).

    • I liked them, too, and was really disappointed it never went anywhere. The whole art theft story was ridiculous, but they had a nice chemistry. Certainly nicer than Alan with Christine. With her, he looked like the funny uncle. The worst thing they did to Bolger, IMO, was having Phillip write that DREADFUL novel and dramatizing it while he wrote it. GAG, that has to be in the running for one of their worst storylines that didn't involve wacky things like clones or time travel. Soaps rarely do school storylines, or don't do them for very long. Not the case so much in the early days of soaps, but after GH took off in the late 70s other soaps took their lead and would catapult teens/young adults into adult stories right away. That's one reason Phillip and Mindy ended up with so many ex-spouses--they started getting married really young. They shipped Dina and Cameron off really fast after high school and stuck Alan Michael in a marriage storyline with Harley. Did he EVER go to college? I don't think so. It may also partly explain why Quint and Annabelle had to go, beyond TPTB wanting to do a cast sweep. Teaching is not a profession that plays well on a soap. Quint definitely had to quit being Indiana Jones, because that wore thin really fast, but they didn't do him favors by making him a professor. If they wanted to keep him, they should have done what they did with Amanda (who was in another dead-end soap job, concert pianist)--have him work at Spaulding as one of the major stockholders.
    • Judith McConnell (Augusta) and Denise Alexander (Lesley) were great screen partners on GH.  They got into some stellar arguments in character in the medicine room.
    • He also commented that Brad knows that fans are sick of the constant fake deaths on this show: Finn, Sheila, etc and that it's hard to take this seriously if it's another fake death

    • I just don't think Brad Bell has it in him to actually kill off Liam. He should have killed off Eric when he had the chance. I know John McCook is an original cast member, but Eric is even more useless than Liam. Eric should have died and then it would be revealed that he died without a valid will, so Donna, as his wife, inherits everything, including his shares in Forrester Creations.
    • I think we all will, isn't that how soaps work? lol
    • ^^ I'll believe it when it actually happens.
