I am hearing Kelly Ripa wants 25 to 30 million a year, executive producer credit and many other perks or she will walk. I read in In Touch she screams about her wardrobe budget and she makes ABC pay for a limo to drop off the kids. What happened to the sweet girl from the soaps?

First In Touch is a gossip rag.

Second who gives a !@#$%^&*] what Kelly wants. She helped give the live Brand another 15 years when she joined so I have no issues if she wants more salary or producer cedit. Good for her

Third, why do u seem to be taking this rumored [!@#$%^&*] so personal???

Careful, "Jonny."  The folks are starting to catch onto you.  ;)

You could tell how much Kelly HATED Michael's laugh toward the end of the clip.  It was all she could do just to sip her morning whatever.

I think she's acting like a sour grapes little diva and being unprofessional. Michael is leaving get over it u make 20 million a year. I just think she is a major bitchy diva and it's sad to me I used to really like her. I read in an article she makes ABC pay for a limo to escort her kids to school, she screams about her wardrobe budget. She even stated on air she bought her daughter Lola who is almost 15 a 2500 purse. Money is really is evil is what I say it changes someone. What happened to the sweet Kelly from the soaps?

Money is not evil.  The love of it is, though.

And Kelly was never sweet.  Anyone who remembers the backstage stories about her, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Eva La Rue, Sydney Penny and their "mean girls" clique at AMC knows what I'm talking about.

When she was on AMC and before her time on Live I thought she wasn't but on Live it seemed like she soften up a bit but I guess I was wrong. And what's these stories about these mean girls? I am intrigued…LOL

Gracias…thanks!:D

I don't have specific details, but...

When SMG, ELR, SP and KR were working at AMC, they rubbed several of the show's old guard the wrong way with their collective sense of self-entitlement.  They were all young, and cute, and receiving a lot of airtime and publicity, so in their eyes, I guess, they saw themselves as indispensible -- a notion that neither the producers nor the network disabused them of.  I can't remember which actor or actress said it, but someone remarked in an interview how the ladies' unofficial clique was real and that that was one reason why working on AMC was not altogether pleasant for them.  (Compare that to Jane Eliot's recent comment that AMC backstage was the most familial environment she'd ever worked in -- but that was years before, when many of the show's most familiar actors from the '70's and '80's were still around.)  Of course, years later, SP acknowledged the clique and apologized for her behavior.  I'm not sure WHERE she said that -- it was from an interview she had given that was quoted either on this board or on another -- but I found it interesting that she would offer a mea culpa in light of the fact that Ripa, Gellar and even La Rue found success after leaving AMC while Penny's career faded by comparison.

You know, I think you're right, Carl?  The more I think about it, the more I think it WAS Teresa Blake who said she couldn't stand working with them.  Of course, I'm not surprised Blake didn't like them.  God knows I wasn't a TB fan, but even I knew she was a much better actress than SMG, ELR or KR.  (SP was probably the only one in the clique with acting chops -- and I say that as someone who isn't a fan of hers either.)

I knew Sarah Michelle has always been bitchy her fights with Lucci were always crazy. Everyone said Ripa was a sweetheart on AMC fun and bubbly and cute. She got on Angela Shapiro good side. In fact when she hosted it with Regis years she was that Kelly. I have noticed though since Regis left every year she is constantly more full of herself. She is a diva and it's because of how rich she is getting it. It's sad money changes people

    • I could've sworn FV let other people direct either here or at OLTL. I may be wrong. IIRC Kimberly is now very active directing multi-cam/sitcom work.
    • IIRC MVJ said the million was just the first piece of what Leslie got or was already owed, something they did make explicit in dialogue but not too explicit. Still, I am past worrying about it. I do think they want 30-yo elder millennial Peaches in her Sophia Petrillo wig to be a point of pathos for Leslie. In theory I am fine with that, and don't dislike Peaches despite the jarring physical disconnect and need for a recast lol. But I do think they do a lot of B&B-style whizzing from Point A to Point C with Leslie on this kind of stuff - in one scene she is raising hell, in the next she is weeping over Peaches. There's very little transition to that sometimes that allows for the nuance, and that can be done much better and they can go much deeper with Leslie (and most characters). The newer/younger audience for the show may have less issue with this kind of quick change than we do.

Thank you.   That was part of my reasoning as well. I think about the days of Kevin, Joey, and Jessica on OLTL or Lucky/Liz/Nik/Sarah/Emily on GH or the Last Blast Kids on DAYS or the Glow by Jabot kids, and it takes me back. Sure I started soaps due to the older cast with their divas, but I do like to see people around my age back then, too. Great memories.   So I love a good relatable teen tale. Bullying. Hormones for the Bad Boy. College choices and internal conflict.
    • Thank you for the information.  I did listen to the entire interview with Miss Roux -- way back when it was first released.  But I am unable to recall her mentioning Connie Ford, and don't have time nor effort to listen to the entire thing again, just for one small morsel. So again, thanks for responding.    I do recall Roux sounded extremely fragile and perhaps a bit wounded in the interview. I almost felt guilty for even listening to it.  So perhaps that has some influence on my reluctance to listen to it again.  She seemed troubled, to say the least.
    • Boxer-briefs, huh?   Well...called it on Cane/Giggly Heffa hooking up so not surprised.
    • Do you have Addie’s first air date??
    • Even now Victor is always so warm with Ashley. I liked their brief re-pairing as well.
    • @depboy Thanks. That does help. @titan1978 @Paul Raven Really enjoying the analysis of the production methods and what Monty was doing.  I wish we got some of those biopics here that a few UK soaps got as a biopic on Monty's first few years at GH would be fascinating.
    • The original 'mansion' was one of the set upgrades they did in 1980 . It was the Chandler residence. When that story fizzled out I think it became Stuart Whyland's house -not 100 on that. But it was revealed that Stuart was working for the Di Mera's (rewrite) so Stefano moved into that house. Mmmm...then it became Alex Marshall's? Neil and Liz lived there also. At some point it was finally replaced.
    •   Thanks. I'm glad she got to as I know some producers tend to get mad if actors want to direct.
