ANNE-MARIE JOHNSON ANNOUNCES ROLE ON "DAYS OF OUR LIVES"

Anne-Marie Johnson announced on today's "Home & Family" that she debuts in a recurring role on "Days" on April 26. No word yet on who she will be playing. She previously appeared on "Days" in 2012 as Dr. Patel. Johnson is best known for her six seasons on the Carroll O'Connor series "In the Heat of the Night."

IMO, she's better at comedy than she is at drama.  I still get chills whenever I think of her most serious stuff on ITHOTN.

She was also Roger's wife Nadine on What's Happening Now? She's a very good actress.

Terrific actress!  She had me bawling when Althea was raped on ITHOTN.

I always liked Anne Marie and first thought maybe she was going to be NuValerie too. I remember her from all of the stuff listed above and she was also on the short lived mid 80's sitcom Double Trouble with the Sagal twins (Katie's sisters). She started doing What's Happening Now right after DT's cancellation. She also did the last season of In Living Color.

I remember the episode of In The Heat of the Night where this committed suicide right in front of Althea and I always thought she played that part really well. She's an underrated actress that doesn't get good material.

She could have come on as Tamara Price's kid sister and given Lani another relative in Salem.  IJS.
