We've done this for soaps, and I'm sure it's been done all over the Internet, but simply put, who are our favorite primetime TV moms? Primetime soaps included, if you like.

I take such things very seriously, so for years, I never had an answer but for now, I'd say Kate Lawrence from Family is my #1. Tough love but the warmest heart, she let her children be independent, but when it all boiled down, she busted their butts when they needed it. She had her own life, but being a mother was a major part of it. Just flawless.

Close runner-ups would be Alice Hyatt, Florida Evans, Donna Stone, Roseanne Conner, and Ann Romano.

Ellie Ewing and Lilimae Clements

In no particular order- favorite moms- Carol Brady, Edith Bunker, Marian Cunningham, Florida Evans, surrogate mom Nell Harper, and Weezie Jefferson. Favorite grandmas- Sophia Petrillo and Mother Jefferson.
