May 8, 20187 yr Author Member I remember in the 70's seeing a list of the most popular shows in different age groups and the only show in every age group was M*A*S*H.
May 9, 20187 yr Member I used to like MASH, but here in my are there are about 10 channels rerunning it in BIG BLOCKS and marathons daily. The same thing with Bonanza. As soon as a retro channel pops up, Bonanza is automatically on their schedule. Friends is another one ran into the ground.

Sundance airs it. TV Land airs it. METV airs it, all in blocks. I'm probably forgetting a channel or two. WGN maybe? Does it REALLY do THAT well? I mean, damn. lol Agreed on FRIENDS. May 13, 20187 yr Member I remember back in the 80's, cable channels were owned independently and they would air all kinds of shows you rarely see anymore, even short lived series. Today most channels are owned by corporations like Viacom and they air the same dang crap on several channels. Back then sometimes if a series was aired on one channel, another channel could not get rights to it. Edited May 13, 20187 yr by SoapDope

Golden Girls for years was ONLY on Lifetime, for example. I miss that.
